Interesting idea--and a quite nice twist on the Xander's real family motif. the only complaint I have is that the girls--especially Buffy--seemed a little too unconcerned about where Xander was.

You've gotta understand that Buffy is not in a very good state of mind right now. She's just recently had her beloved lover go Mr. Hyde on her and she has failed to kill him at the first opportunity, thus providing him with more opportunity. Angelus is busily screwing with her mind and it causing her to behave rather out of sorts and uncharacteristically.

I'm hooked. I like the change of parent. Janet can be quite fierce and Xan will need that. Plus now he'll get a sis in Cassie. I haven't seen the brand idea before. I hate the idea of it happening but love the plot idea. Can brands be skin grafted over? Keep up the good work.

I have to admit, this is a new twist on a Xander's real family fic. At least to me.
I like the start. It definitely has me intrigued and wanting to see more. I really enjoy the portrayal of Xander you've shown so far. He seems very true to character.
