Wow. I've just caught up with this, and I find that I'm loving it. The style of Alias and the pulse is gritty enough to match the Angel-verse (which was in turn grittier than Buffy.) Jessica is a character you don't see often enough, i think. It seems that you've meshed the universes seamlessly (Gwen Raiden working for Stark, Riley with homeland security.)
I'm admiring this one and looking forward to seeing more!

The next installment should reveal the identity of the father - though that will raise more questions than it answers.
This gets more fun all the time. Gee, if only there'd been this much Federal concern when Angel & his group were taking on an army of demons in LA... instead of having Giles refuse to help, and so on. Anyway--Nina is attracting a LOT of interest, more than she seems to deserve... Anyway--they must have something more than we've seen so far, otherwise I don't see why Riley & his group are involved. Unless it's part of a "kill all werewolves" thing? Now if only Illyria or some others of the old gang would show up. Still surprised Gwen went legit. But jewel thieving probably started to get old after a while.
Comments from author:
Nina isn't exactly what they're interested in - they're more concerned with the story behind her pregnancy.
Who says Gwen is legit?

There's always the kind of shapeshifter that's born wolf, but can change to human at will. They function physically pretty much as a normal werewolf but, mentally, they have a different take on the world.
Hmm, looks like the path Nina and Jessica are traveling just got a bit rougher...
Comments from author:
That might be a possibility in the Marvel-verse, but not in this story. It's pretty much the Buffyverse version of werewolves.

Considering where she woke up, Nina may have been ambushed and impregnated, then *left* at the wolf house to muddy the trail, as the ultimate in being a deadbeat dad.
If this were a Potterverse, I'd figure Remus Lupin was trying to insulate her and her kids from the Wizarding World, but, as this is full Marvel, I doubt that this is the case.
You're crafting a very good tale, and I find it enthralling. Thank you for sharing.

You're closer than some of the other guesses I've seen.

Well, that's certainly an innovative crossover idea. And I enjoyed Alias, though I've never heard of this Pulse follow up so now I have to look into that. It makes sense, I suppose for Nina of all people to be used to putting her faith in superhuman detectives, so it seems a natural reaction for her to ask for help despite having just met said superhuman detective. Cubs, though? Sounds like a downside of lycanthropy the show never considered... especially since their werewolves rarely looked that wolf-like. Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

I think I'll say no comment for now. The situation isn't necessarily what it appears to be.
Oh, and The Pulse is definitely worth reading. I got the collections pretty cheaply via Amazon, thoroughly recommend it.
