Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from wargear
Review:
Quote: "Note: I was toying with the idea of making Eowyn a slayer. I really wanted to, and I still think it's interesting, but I want to make sure it doesn't diminish her defeat of the Witch-King. That is seriously one of my favorite scenes." Unquote.

Read the book, and go back and rewatch that scene. Eowyn was a fair warrior, and a great distraction, but she didn't defeat the Witch King. Merry did. With the enchanted blade taken from the wight barrow (or given to him by Aragorn if you're following the movie). The seers who foretold that the Witch King could not be harmed by Man would not have been so shortsighted as to disregard gender. Eowyn was still of the race of Man. The Hobbit was not.

Sorry for the rant, but this has long been one of my sore spots.

P.S. Good story, keep up the good work :)
Comments from author:
Eowyn and Merry defeated the Witch-King together. The Barrow-blade weakened him, but it was Eowyn's blow that killed him. I love both of them, but it was Eowyn who was honored with that victory.

I hate to argue, but it's a sore spot for me too. I hate that they never explained th barrow blades.

But it was the other way around. Merry weakened him, and Eowyn killed him. Watch the scene again. Merry struck the first blow, and Eowyn the last.

I am so loving this fic I hope you update soon. :)
Comments from author:
The third chapter is written in a notebook. So, I have to type it up, which is when I edit and add stuff, and then post it. But this week I have 2 papers, so it might not happen until the weekend.

I'm probably one of the most nit-picky people when it comes to stories dealing with Tolkien's works, but I'm really enjoying this. I hope you continue with it and I'm very much looking forward to reading more.

Totally pictured a Hobbit girl being a slayer.
Comments from author:
I was thinking about that actually. I seriously want Rosie to be a slayer, but I don't think it's feasible. Isn't it only human girls?

Great story so far and I agree with you that the prophecy with the Witch-King being unkillable by man, but not a Hobbit and a woman is one of Tolkien's better ideas.

I really don't mind you using 'my' Elven society - I am flattered!

I rather like the idea of Éowyn the Slayer.
Comments from author:
Yay! Your LoTR BtVS crossover series is my favorite, so I'm glad you like my story. :-D

Love it. It's different than the rest of the LOTR. You have all the Slayers there.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Nosi
Review:
I've always fancied the idea of what a whole pack of slayers could do in the LOTR battles, not to mention what they would do after the battles with all those men and elves around !

This chapter was quite enjoyable; I especially enjoyed the comments about Faith fighting in her bra, and that Haldir didn't die. I'll look forward to reading more.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Thraxis
Review:
Enjoyable so far.

In a moment of nerdy nitpickyness i'd add that Sauron's master, Morgoth, might be a better analog for the First than Sauron. Morgoth is several orders of magnitude more powerful than Sauron even with the Ring and is destined to be unleashed once more on Middle-Earth for the Last Battle.

But I like the idea of Buffy killing Nazgul.
Comments from author:
Yeah, I know. Morgoth would be better than Sauron, but I got to thinking that both Sauron and the First were incorporeal.
And I hadn't thought of Buffy killing Nazgul before, but I like the idea. Eowyn & Merry still get to kill the Witch-King, though, 'cause that's my favorite scene in the movie. :-D

Hmmm, maybe they'll have to get Morgoth after Sauron. . .

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from GraysonPaladin
Review:
Well damn, I have seen stories with one or two Slayers getting to Middle-Earth, but to have an entire Platoon. Damn Sauron won't know what hit him. I'm going to love to see how this plays out.
Comments from author:
thank you. The idea just kind of struck me. I should flesh it out more, explore characters more, but the idea hit me last night and I just started it, and had to write it. Maybe it'll get bigger when I finish the next part.
