Review of chapter "Battle Ready" from (Current Donor)JanessaRavenwood
Review:
Enough with this "turn the other cheek," Willow. Give in to your rage and show this bitch Darth Rosenberg. You may not know magic yet, but I'm sure it's there, just waiting to be tapped, especially in such an obviously magical land. Forget "salvation," embrace your rage and take your just revenge. Ah, yes...
Comments from author:
Well, she's not exactly turning the other cheek, she just can't do much about it right now. But don't worry, things are going to change.

Thanks for the review.

Spectacular. Absolutely spectacular! Really amazingly done chapter! I love the closeness between Edmund and Willow and how he tries to protect her. Aw. Nicely done. Also very interesting about what the queen sees in Willow... Maybe her potential for magic or is it something else? Very intriguing.

Thanks for the update, I very much enjoyed reading it and I definitely look forward to reading more! Keep up the great work!!
Comments from author:
Potential is a funny thing, because it could always go either way. You're going to have to wait and see what the witch is talking about.

Thanks for the review.

Glad to see this story continuing; I look forward to seeing what's coming up.

After all, if the character development's this intriguing when Willow and Edmund are alone, what's going to happen when they meet up with the other siblings and Aslan (Particularly in Willow's case, given her 'anomalous' presence in terms of the prophecy only requiring FOUR humans...)?

To say nothing of how her encounters here will affect her life back in Sunnydale when she meets Buffy, of course; after meeting the kind of large-scale evil shown by the witch (She conquered a world and turned it into endless winter; not exactly something most people do, is it?), I doubt some of Buffy's earlier, more 'petty' enemies- Catherine Madison, the Mantis demon, that kind of thing- are going to be as intimidating for her...

Keep up the great work!

(Although I hope the next chapter comes along quicker)

Thanks for all the wonderful feedback.

I'm really glad you're enjoying. And you're right; the Willow that comes to S1 Buffy is going to be very different. This is a long series; I've considered doing a collection of ficlets for each season of Buffy, but obviously the events would be radically changed. I don't want to give too much away at this point, but know that Once and Always is wrapping up in the next three to four parts. And I've already started work on the next chapter, so hopefully it won't take as long.

Thanks again,
Eena

Wow. A wonderful story so far. I can't wait to see what happens next and what effect this will have on the Narnia and Buffy-verse. Will the Siblings go to Willow's time, Willow to theirs, or will they all go back to there own places? How will a Willow with the knowledge that magic is real effect Buffy's arrival? Or will she assume that it only exists in Narnia? You have given me many questions and I can't wait to see how you answer them.
Comments from author:
Hey,

Sorry for the lateness of my reply. But I am glad that you're enjoying this story. It's taking a bit longer than my other stories, but I hope that the work shows.

VERY nice bit of work you’ve got here, to say the least.

The paragraphs could be spaced out a bit more, of course, but the concept is DEFINITELY interesting; the time difference between the Pevensies entering the wardrobe and Willow entering it herself has attracted a GREAT deal of my interest all on its own...

Which isn’t to say the plot itself isn’t captivating so far; not only do you avoid doing the ‘obvious’ option and have Willow run into Lucy, Peter and Susan upon her arrival, but the fact that this is Willow PRE-Buffy means that she’s experiencing this new world with eyes just as widely-opened as the other children, learning all about the existence of magic from the ground up with no prior experience or contact to base her discoveries on.

Her thoughts on her initial discovery of Narnia were not only highly well-developed, but her subsequent response to her meetings with Maugrim and the White Witch- as well as her meetings with Tumnus and Edmund- proved to be very believable; I look forward to seeing how this story continues.

If nothing else, I have to wonder what effect Willow’s presence is going to have on the old Narnian prophecy; there might only be FOUR Thrones, but the implication of having a third ‘Daughter of Eve’ is definitely going to have some VERY interesting effects in Narnia...

Hope you update this story soon; I REALLY can’t wait to see what happens next (Particularly when we get around to Willow meeting Aslan; something tells me THAT is going to be interesting)!

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I've spent some time thinking about it, and it seemed to be just the thing to get me back into the swing of writing. Hopefully I will have a new chapter before the end of the weekend.

Wow. Brutal. That's all I can say. I have to admit, until now, I thought a 'whipping boy' was someone who thought the universe, Fate, or some other cosmic entity had it in for them. Thanks for the explanation, and please keep up the steady updates!
Comments from author:
Hey

Thanks for the review. As for the common usage of 'whipping boy' today, you're pretty much on the target. It's origins are basically how they are described in the chapter, and the meaning has evolved today to be what you thought it was.

Glad you liked.

Interesting story so far. Not a big fan of willow or willow-fic, but I'm actually liking your pre-buffy willow. I wonder if Jadis will sense the potential for magic in her at some point. She was able to do so with Kirke's uncle (the magicians nephew), so it'd be interesting to see what she'd make of a pre-witchy willow :).

I am liking the edmund/willow thing you seem to be building. Interesting pairing; of course Willow is not yet 'the betrayer', they still do seem to have a bit in common in the way that they are both somewhat invisible to others.
Comments from author:
Thanks,

I like pre-Buffy Willow as well, so she'll be much more like the first few seasons of Buffy, before the whole magic thing blows up. As for Jadis, we'll have to see if she finds anything in Willow beyond a tool against Edmund (maybe some temptation later on when the White Witch confronts the Great Lion).
Thanks for the review.

How horrible! Poor Willow... and Edmund too. *hugs* Really terrific chapter though! I loved the interaction between Willow and Edmund... Her trying to comfort him while trying to get information about him and how he got there (Narnia) in the first place. I also loved how even after finding out what he did, she tried to understand his point of view and didn't judge him. Aw! I'm glad they have each other to lean on while being held prisoner by that crazy bitch. lol.

Anyhoo, I can't wait to read more!!

Good story, but you're gonna have to think of a very good explaination for the timeline - kids in the 1940s, and 1990s using the same wardrobe. But I look forward to questions about the future from them, and will people end up getting home to the right times? Things to think about, and I look forward to those answers.
Comments from author:
Hey,

Thanks for the feedback. This story is the first in a series of what will probably be at least three stories. More explanations about the wardrobe and the timelines will be coming in the second story (still in the rough outline stages).
