Review of chapter "Epilogue: What Happened" from Genuka
Review:
Oh that's just down right evil. And very sad. It's nice that Buffy can still visit and help protect Anne though.
Comments from author:
Sorry...sorta. Didn't like killing Buffy, but if felt right for this fic. When I saw that video for the song, I knew I had to use it for Daddy House.

Review:
OHHHHH you are way way way evil! I love that Cameron is a half demon, the fact that she is related to Doyle way cool. I DON'T like that Buffy was killed, you made me cry. I do have to wonder if Cameron told House about her not being totally human and if that would effect the children the two had together. I love the epilogue, I am very happy about what happened to those that wanted to hurt Buffy.
Comments from author:
I would hope that Cameron would have come clean before she had children with House. Why they never discussed it with Giles and the others...who knows? Maybe Cameron wanted to leave Buffy's memory alone. My initial reaction for the punishment was death, but then I realized it would make Giles and whoever helped him murderers. Then I remembered Fred and decided that Chloe had a Slayer dream about her and she went to Pylea with Wes and rescued her. That left Wes with the perfect place to send people who couldn't go to jail, but couldn't be slayed either.

Review:
I've really been enjoying this series, but the ending seemed a little abrupt. I was disappointed that Buffy and House didn't get married.

So, do we get a story about Anne?
Comments from author:
Death is abrupt. Maybe you can pretend it was just a dream and come up with your own happy ending for them. I don't know about any more sequels though. I'll consider it, but don't hold your breath 'cause Anne is basically an OC, and those are a whole lot tougher to write than established characters.

Review:
You're just...you're just evil. *still reeling* You stay up late at night thinking of ways to make people cry, don't you? *glares in your general direction*
Comments from author:
Okay, yeah...you've caught me. On the other hand, though, I also stay up late at night coming up with ways to make people smile. Evens out in the end, doesn't it? One makes the romantic in me happy; the other makes the sadist in me purr in delight.

Review:
Yes, I am definitely shocked that House never found out. Great job revealing what happened to Buffy. I like that you told this from Giles' pov. Great response to the challenge. Hate to see it come to an end, especially when that ending isn't a happy one, but I guess it's good to have realistic stories out there because life sure doesn't always have a fairytale ending. :)
Comments from author:
I'm not sure what happened. Musie just wanted to be twisted and go a vastly different direction with this story. Probably part of it was 'cause I had a hard time writing Buffy/House smoochies. He's attractive, but I'm not personally that drawn to him...not like I am with Gibbs. So this is one time that the author's preference kicked in.

Review of chapter "Chapter 8: Never Gonna Be Alone" from Gideon
Review:
Well I wasn't expecting you to kill off Buffy so that certainly caught me by surprise. But I think it is good to surprise your readers every now and then. I wasn't sure from the epilogue if Buffy knew what was happening and chose to save her baby instead of herself or if it was just an accident that Buffy dies instead of Anne. But I think it still turned out the way Buffy would have wanted, as Buffy was always ready to put herself in harms way. Sad.
(also not clear on why Buffy's baby would be targeted at all. That didn't seem to be explained. Wouldn't the watchers want to kill Buffy anyway, and not care about her baby?)
Comments from author:
The way I thought about Buffy and the Slayer's sacrifice was that they felt something was wrong. What it was...who knows, but their only care was that the baby survive, and that helped to draw the poison away from the baby. Cheesy? Yeah, probably. The reason Buffy and the baby were targeted was that Travers et al figured that if she didn't have a baby, she could be guilted/coerced into returning to Slaying. Buffy's own death was a risk they were willing to take - as long as the baby died. Hearing that a Slayer had a baby might lead other Slayers to wanting more from life than just their duty. Mmm, there's a possible side story in this, told from Travers' POV.

Review:
I don't mind the tragic ending, but the POV switch to Anne was rough and a bit jerky, and you could have used a bit more finesse in the transition. It reads very much so like "I'm ready to be done with this fic, time to slap on an ending" to me (though that may or may not be true).

One thing I will give you, though, is that now I'm much more invested in seeing how the Gibbs version turns out (and hoping we get a little more resolution and a smoother- and hopefully happy- ending).
Comments from author:
The transition was meant to be startling; I wanted to shock the readers with the abruptness of it. In actuality, I had that chapter written a while back; it was writing the chapters leading up to it that gave me trouble.

We'll have to see about Gibbs.

I'm still a little ticked at you because you killed off Buffy in what should have been her long earned retirement. Stupid Watchers.

HOWEVER, I'm completely willing to forgive you if you don't kill Buffy off in the Gibbs version. You're not planning on killing her, are you? ARE YOU?

:P

Still an excellent story, though.
Comments from author:
I know; Musie and I must have been in a twisted mood the day we decided she would die.

Review:
I will admit to being a bit disappointed that House never found out about Buffy being a Slayer, but since they never had the chance to get together...I guess I can accept it. :P
Definitely an interesting way of making the House and Buffy verses work! I must confess I prefer the idea of Buffy/Gibbs over Buffy/House, so I'm glad you went that route instead. :D
Comments from author:
I think part of the reason they didn't get their happily ever after was I couldn't decide whether House would be able to contain himself with the mysteries involved with Buffy being the Slayer. Oddly enough, I figured that dying in childbirth was preferable to the pain of fighting with House over his curiosity and need to figure out the unexplainable.

Review:
Pylean exile? Nice compromise between the painful deaths they deserved and the need to protect Giles from being an actual murderer in Buffy's name.
Comments from author:
I realize it's darn close to murder, but at least Giles didn't soil his own hands. Figured that if a little waif like Fred could survive there for 5 years, trained *cough* yeah, right *cough* demon fighters should stand a little bit of a chance.

Review:
Tying up loose ends - very nicely done! It's sad to see this one end, but I love how you've done it. Most authors wouldn't have the courage to kill off the main character, but you've done so in a way that I find most satisfying. Buffy's daughter over her own life? A choice she would make in a heartbeat. Lovely job, thanks so much!
Comments from author:
I love Buffy dearly, so it was kinda hard making the choice to kill her off. To me, it was the easier way for her and House not to end up together. I realize that parents don't have to be together - and in some cases, *shouldn't* be together - but I wanted Buffy with the daddy if possible. I just couldn't write her with House; it felt off to me whenever I tried. I like reading other fics that 'ship them, so I'm not sure what my problem was.

Review:
WTF? It's nice and all that your showing both timelines, but you already split this story once. The only good thing I can say about that last chaper is that it was emotionally strikeing, but to what end? It's not actually part of the story.
Comments from author:
Sure it is. The epilogue will answer the questions brought up by this chapter (or at least most of them, I hope). I don't see how this was splitting the story though. If you're confused, maybe you should watch the vid...it could clear things up for you in a way that my explaining it wouldn't.
