Review of chapter "Speaking of Dreams..." from nicjphill
Review:
Loved it! Glad to see the Scoobies but can't wait to see Xander interact with his wife. Wonder who was trying to trap Buffy or Faith and if it has anything to do with the stargate or if it was a coincidence. Can't wait to see Gwen's reaction to Teal'c. Can't wait for the next update!

Review of chapter "Speaking of Dreams..." from AllenPitt
Review:
She might not react well to Teal'c, heh.... "Demon!" and all that. In a perfect storm of bad events, G. gets mind-told to follow the party line, reveal her connection to Kalderash etc, but the SGC catches her doing something magical... ie she thinks "Initiative!" they think "Foothold! and the aliens have organized human groups on earth!"
I like the part where Buffy et al think "portals!" and of course they have jurisdiction over portals and assume the military will 'stuff up' like the Initiative did; while the SGC has jurisdiction over any alien threat to the earth. Nice collision possible there. All the secrecy both sides employ is working against them in this situation.
Hm, does the SGC at this point have any of those alien "memory reading" devices lying around?
Comments from author:
Arg! I've just gone over my timeline, and the SG1 timeline, and realised that she should have reacted to Sam in the first story, since Jolinar happened in Season 2, and that story is set Season 3+. A bit upset with myself over that. Hm... memory reading devices...

Review of chapter "Tangled Webs" from (Current Donor)MaxGSandeman
Review:
I always remember General Hammond, was more formal during briefing sessions. Example, Major Carter instead of Sam. I am not sure how he referred to the members of SG1, in later series of the show.

I am hoping for some fun. Someone drops the "axe", it embeds itself into the concrete floor but is undamaged. Tests reveal the metal and "red lacquer" remain undamaged, even when a diamond is used to attempt to scratch any part of it.
Comments from author:
Ack - proper behaviour during briefings! sigh... will correct sometime when I'm not 2+ hours late for bed.

Review:
Is Gwen and OC or is she from the Buffy comics? Willow "made" her? She's been a slayer for three years and the others don't seem to know that?

Review of chapter "Tangled Webs" from AllenPitt
Review:
yep, one side fears Initiative II, the other "Foothold" ... and that note about Clarke's 3rd Law would be interpreted that way, too, come to think of it. Funny, their attempt to do a "it's not magic, it's science!" would make things worse for them in the SGC's eyes.
I betcha "chappa'i" is a term that can be found in old Watcher accounts. But as part of a "demon gods of Egypt" chronicle, not "aliens", I'd guess.
The SGC get invaded by super-powerful beings every other episode, so any rescue team won't have as easy a time of it as they might expect. (of course said invasions are usually very successful...)
Too bad they don't know they're all on the same side.

Great writing, especially Jack dissecting the distraction methods and Willow's trip to the gutter.

Review of chapter "When Old Friends Drop In" from WhiteWolf
Review:
Ehhmm, just that you know. French money is the euro now. So, Daniel should have recognized the money as EU money not as French money, although the euro coins are different for each country, which could be recognized as French money, but you can find French euro coins all over Europe. And another thing O'Neill has done black-ops all over the world, he should recognize French money(even the old currency, the French frank).

What I also found strange, curious was Buffy's reaction to Gwen's disappearance, she was more concern about the disappearance of the Scythe than the Slayer. I hope you will explain that later for that seems a little bit too cold for Buffy, without some good reason behind it.

Aside from these little things a nice beginning.
Comments from author:
Duh - one of those things (Euro & O'Neill recognising them) that I didn't think about. Will correct that. I actually knew O'Neill had a special ops background - have even referenced it - but let that slip. Meh!
As for Buffy's attitude - the girls don't get on. They are very different, and Gwen has made little attempt to engage Buffy as a friend. Buffy also recognises, at some level, that Gwen could challenge for leadership. I'm not attempting to Buffy-bash, but rather to write Gwen as a certain personality profile, which will take leadership if they don't think the group is being lead acceptably, but only if necessary. Buffy sees Gwen as rather cold and dominating. Gwen sees herself as pragmatic, and not needing a huge group of friends, or wide acceptance. Gwen's not very accepting of Buffy's more extroverted nature, seeing her as somewhat frivolous. Hope this explained what I'm trying to do, and hope I'm actually succeeding somewhat in my goals.

A well written set-up although I'm a bit confused about the last line, who was speaking and which Sam?
Comments from author:
Gwen was thinking, and referencing Sam Carter, who she met six months previously, when kidnapped in Oxford. (See previous story 'Blood of the Strong'. I will be organising these stories into a series, but I want to get the first story started first.)

Review of chapter "When Old Friends Drop In" from AllenPitt
Review:
Sam doesn't recognize her...did they erase her memory of the first meeting, while kidnapped? Boy, will she be thinking "Initiative" or what? If she overhears the wrong stuff, will think the SGC is dealing with demon lords & portals. And they've got the Scythe. Good news is, Willow can probably locate it...
Comments from author:
Hopefully this will be answered in the next chapter. Err... writing now? ;)
