Brilliant- just brilliant! I was kinda hoping you would manage to bring Connor into it- I could kind of imagine the Doctor, Spike and Illyria becoming some kind of parenting team for him- Illyria the scarily over protective mother...the Doctor the geeky and caring father....and Spike the father who lets Connor get away with murder...Lol!
My favourite bit: "Why would you do a thing like that? What have butterflies ever done to you?"

Much as it is a good line, the Doctor originally said it in the Shakespeare Code when Martha was asking about the rules of time travel. But I do love it so!
Actually, while writing this, I never spared the first thought for Connor. But I had planned to continue this, so he *might* pop up in some story along the line. No promises though!
