The next chapter is beta'd - you will find out why Orophin isn't there soon, honestly. But, to put your mind at rest - Orophin does send his love to Buffy during the epilogue of Return of The Key.

Now that chapter two has been up for over 24 hours I will just add that for a minute or two I did think of killing off, not Orophin, but his girlfriend. But then I thought I was mean enough to Orophin in Brotherhood, and this is meant to be a pleasant, mi-winter story... so I didn't!
