Review of chapter "Chapter 1: Forming the Cord" from NeverTooOld
Very nice, a change from most three-somes or polyamorous stories that focus on the sex, often to the exclusion of the other aspects of a healthy relationship. I do hope that you don't actually wait until the next 'Blue Moon' to give us an update to this story, perhaps you could do it as vignettes or snapshots of their lives over the years.

Comments from author:
You should know since you helped with the development of the first half of this story. I'll post the second half of the story tonight.

Love the concept, and think you've done wonderful job in being true to the characters.

IMHO the sexual aspects of this story could get very tricky. I've never been one for Buffy/Giles romances simply based on the father/daughter dynamic. The only ones I've seen well done were AU where Buffy was older, Giles younger, and their relationship came from a completely different viewpoint.

Love the idea of the three-fold chord though, and think the storyline is quite unique. I'd probably stay within the boundaries you've laid for the chord's existence in the first place with regards to Buffy, and play around with bonds created from there.

There are several ways to look at any sexual liaisons that might grow as a result of the chord. Tara and Buffy's budding relationship needs time to grow without adding another into it. But, later as the bond grows stronger I could definitely see something happening between Tara and Giles. Working magic together and strengthening each others capabilities is bound to cause other 'sparks'.

As you can see, had lots to say bout your story and will be waiting to see where you go with it.
Comments from author:
I'm not really good at the sexual aspects anyway, so I won't even try. I just really wanted to attempt a 'threesome' story and Tara seemed to be the best one to round out the 'ship. Anyone else would involve breaking up a couple and I didn't want that. Since this is a triad and not a threesome, I figured that I didn't really have to delve into the sex part right away; that's something they can slowly grow towards over time. The important part is the emotional aspect for all of them.

Very different, but I'm enjoying what Tara and Buffy have been able to be and do for one another so far (seems a much healthier dynamic than Buffy's friendship with Willow or Willow's relationship with Tara at that point in season 4), and I'm intrigued by the idea of adding Giles into the mix.
Comments from author:
I had a few issues about how the others treated Buffy at the beginning of season 4. Xander *was* doing okay during the Sunday incident, but then the roommate thing came up and they all failed Buffy then. So, I thought 'What if she had somebody she could count on?' And who's the best person to count on in season 4? Why, Tara of course! She could tell Faith was in Buffy's body - or at least that there was something seriously wrong. Adding Giles to the mix seems like it could do wonders for Tara. You know, giving her a man that she can trust and love? Can't wait until her family comes around this time. Sunnydale hospital better stock up on bandages.

Well, there's a pairing I haven't ever thought of before but you've made it work. I blush to admit ... I think I liked it - might have to read it again just to be sure. :)~

I've never come across this particular triad before. Buffy and Tara are one of my favourite pairings. The Giles/Tara is a bit odd to me 'cause of Tara's lesbianism though there was a bit of dialogue in "Entropy" that seemed to suggest that a male romantic partner was not a total impossibility. Their genders aside, Giles and Tara's personalities do kind of mesh. What you have to sell me on is the Buffy/Giles part as Giles is much more a parent than a mentor otherwise I wouldn't have a problem with it (student/teacher romance are not unknown. See CJ Cherryh's novel "The Paladin" for an example). But I'd like to see where you take this fic and will put the story on my tracker.
Comments from author:
Yeah, the Tara/Giles part sorta bothered me too. But since this really isn't about the sex aspect of their relationship, I was able to get over it. Hope I don't disappoint on the B/G side.

Love it!!! Buffy/Giles together wow! Buffy/Giles/Tara, double wow!! I've never really imagined a threesome with those three before. I really can't wait to find out what happens next. More please :)
Comments from author:
My dream trio would be Buffy/Tara/Oz, but I'd have to work it so they didn't betray Willow. Maybe the fluke with Xander was more than just a fluke or something. Damn bunny! Get out of my head and off my computer screen!

Actually, I found the idea of a Buffy/Giles relationship to be more "shocking" than a Buffy/Tara relationship. Lol! I always thought the canon Buffy/Tara friendship got to be pretty darn close before Tara was killed. Especially when Buffy went to Tara when she thought she came back from Heaven "wrong" since Spike could hurt her.

I liked your dialog, it mostly sounded like the characters' voices in my mind's ear. Your story looks interesting and I look forward to reading more. One question though, in this AU are Willow and Oz still together? OK, two questions. What about Xander' and Anya's relationship? Dang! Three questions. What will the other Scoobies think about the Triad?
Comments from author:
Isn't it just hilarious to consider that Buffy's healthiest relationship might be with 2 people? LOL. Your questions will be answered when I post the last chapter tonight.

Very interesting. I love Buffy/Giles.
Willow is going to be very jealous!
Comments from author:
Well, Buffy met Tara before Willow did, so the only thing she might be jealous of is the magick relationship between Tara and Giles.

Can I just say not what I expected and I felt it was very nicely done. I didn't notice any misspellings or grammar errors so very good work. I definitely would like to see this continued.
Comments from author:
I doubt many people expected this. Even if they guessed the B/G part from my other stories, Tara even threw me off when NeverTooOld and I discussed this.

Well I like the idea of a three-way and Tara being a part of it, but I'm definitely not into Giles/Buffy. I just can't picture her ever being with him considering he's been more like a mentor/father figure and hey, didn't he sleep with her mom? Eww... There's got to be some kind of boundary there. Sharing is not caring in this case.
Comments from author:
Well, there isn't going to be any explicit mention of sex, so hopefully this will work out okay.
