Review of chapter "I Like the Quiet" from ChiVayne
Review:
Yeah, the quote is from Groucho, not Rodney.
Comments from author:
Rodney was probably quoting him then, because he said it in Back to School, which is more age appropriate for Xander to have seen.

Review of chapter "The Old Ball Game" from madamssaiyan

I especially like this one as sometimes I do think shield and marvel treat America soil as personal fiefdom.. In "origin story" by chefjackbutler which is set in marvel after the superhuman registration act Xander is attacked by shield and the un-American avengers and get their butts kicked. I always had problems with that story arc with the superhuman registration act and the sentinels why didn't, the American mutants and so forth just go to Rio or somewhere..
Great group of stories thanks so much..

This one could be really interesting, especially if you keep Xander totally human. Just having common sense. It could be very interesting.

Review of chapter "I Like the Quiet" from trongod
Review:
Actually, this is sufficiently different from nearly all the 'Xander Gets Booted' in that I really can't see him having sex with Faith unless some monumental changes in her - OK, and him - occur. Granted such changes /might/ be starting with her realization that she's treated him as badly as she had been in the past...

This could be a springboard for a different Xander gets his own crew going - as you pointed out, the Soldier and Hyena are causing him to react more ruthlessly than usual, and there are more changes both resulting from that and causing that. The odds of him returning to the once Scooby gang are slim to none, so being smart enough to count past five without using his hands, Xander /knows/ that having back up = living to see another sunrise... or getting puppy kisses, depending on if he ever gets a puppy... And a Slayer on his side is a major asset, and vice versa, in all honesty.

A crew led by the newly forming Xander you have here would react far quicker and mercilessly to threats than Buffy's minions, as Xander has no qualms about putting down any threat whether they have a soul or not - yes, Andrew, and Warren, I'm looking at /you/ - something that the others would put off again and again until a true innocent paid for their asinine beliefs and moralizing.

And even then, canon has them trying to turn the murderer and his accomplices over to the /Sunnydale Police Department/!!!

Just my $0.02 worth here, Boss...

Groucho Marx originated that quote, not Rodney Dangerfield.

Hmm. That Basic Training angel seems vaguely familiar... ^_-

All in all, a fun chapter. The fight over who gets Xander's body is hilarious, and the problems that custody will cause are a good point to hang a plot on.

Groucho Marx not Rodney Dangerfield.

Glad you dropped it, we don't need more of those type stories. If Xander wants nights where he doesn't get beaten up then he should stay fray adjacent

If you do continue this, one angle I have yet to see would be Willow trying to make Xander see how bad his "being against them" is.. and summoning Vampire Xander.

"I'd never be a part of any club that would have me as a member." I think that was Groucho Marx.

Oh, and keep up the good work! I'm always looking for new stories from you.

Review of chapter "I Like the Quiet" from Lictre
Review:
I like this variant of Xander distancing himself from Buffy, it's less confrontational or acrimonious, and it doesn't immediately wind up with Xander either dead, injured or turned because he's not in immediate proximity to the shelter of the others. It doesn't turn Xander into some attention-seeking moron like Marti Noxon tended to do, or turn him into a villain like some of the anti-xander fans do.

However, Xander's soldier aspect should have been generating some disquiet at Xander's being in a threat zone alone with earplugs still in.
Comments from author:
Yep, but he is far from perfect.

all life starts in pretty much the same way, it is the choices made after the start that makes a difference. It may start the same as other stories but that don't mean it will end up in the same place.

A dozen such stories? If they're any good, could we please have the names? Other than the one you wrote with jumping into TVs and Child of Rao, nothing worthwhile immediately comes to mind.
