Review of chapter "Vampires are Tricky" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Shouldn't there be a "never, ever yell at Buffy Summers" rule, just because? Or at least a "don't piss off Buffy Summers" rule (though since Andrew came up with the rules originally, and he seemed to have trouble grasping the idea of not pissing off Buffy and Dawn back in season 7, perhaps it's not so strange if he omitted this essential survival tip).
Comments from author:
That would be a seperate list, the one that the rest of the Scoobies are compiling: it starts with "Don't die". Andrew's list must all be applicable to horror movies. Although... I could totally put a reference in here somewhere to that Scream movie where Sarah Michelle Gellar gets deaded in the first five minutes... hmmm...

Nice story, I wonder how similar Andrews girls are to the ones Xander trained or found? After all Xander was the one to start it for the Scobbies.
=)

This is great, I'm loving this story! I have a list that I send to my friends every Halloween that covers most of these - here are a few more:
If you are in the Arctic (or anywhere else) and find an alien frozen in ice, don't touch it, don't thaw it out, leave it alone. The alien should be incinerated with thermite (or preferably a thermonuclear weapon), otherwise if it thaws out, it will kill you and every living thing on earth.
Never speak to clowns in sewers.
Never put your back to, or lean on, a door.
Never pick up a hitchhiker or stop to aid a suspicious person, especially if he/she/it resembles Santa Claus or Satan.
Do not accept/take anything from the dead.
If you find something that appears to be alive that you cannot identify, don't pick it up or touch it, with anything.
If your children speak to you in Latin or any other language which they do not know, or if they speak to you using a voice which is other than their own, shoot them immediately. It will save you a lot of grief in the long run. (Note: It will probably take several rounds of gunfire to incapacitate them, so be prepared.)
Never read aloud from a book that summons demons. Even as a joke.

I especially love the idea that disappointing and saddening 'Admiral Andrew' seems like a much worse punishment than getting a harsh lecture from another Slayer.
Also, really nice work in the first chapter on coming up with reasons why Andrew's horror-movie-based rules (which remind me of one of the only good things about Sy-Fy's Saturday evening fare, usually: the survival rules based on monster movies) actually reduce casualties in the field.

Okay, I absolutely love horror movies, but hate that nobody in them appears to have EVER seen one. So this is wonderful to read. Here's a couple I haven't seen yet:
NEVER bring along someone who has spent his/her life devoted to finding or proving the object's existance. Especially if it's evil. Cause you're going to have to destroy it, and they will do everything they can to stop you. Just get the info from them via cell phone.
If a random old person warns you of a curse, superstition, or anything like that when you're visiting a strange town, BELIEVE THEM!
And I know this one has been said before, but I firmly believe it: Beware of random small children. Odds are they're evil or a tool of evil. Steer clear.
Do not try to open any strange puzzle boxes, if encountered, throw said puzzle box into a magical flame or a dragon will work if you have one on hand...

# ?: The Evil-Overlord rules also aply to Heroes, Arnold is not a good role-model, except in 'Commando'.

... I feel like I should know what these "Evil Overlord Rules" are. Pray tell, where can I find them?
