Review of chapter "Many a Mile" from (Recent Donor)Luna
Review:
interesting, although I can never imagine Buffy being quiet and just letting her ass get kicked...
Comments from author:
Thank you. As for Buffy, well, this story is told from Joyce's perspective so the audience doesn't actually know what's going on with Dawn and Buffy. Though truth be told I can't imagine Buffy keeping her mouth shut either which explains the bruises, but keeping in mind the fact that she's not the Slayer and a newbie shifter against a pride of werelions with a thirteen year old sister to worry about I think she'd do her best to avoid conflict.

I love this! I've never read a Joyce fic before and I love it. I wonder if you're planning on continuing this story though?
Comments from author:
Thank you. I think Joyce is an under used and under appreciated character. I do have plans to continue this story, but the when remains to be decided.

I've just re-read this. It's one of my favourites.

I like how you have portrayed all the characters, including those that the characters only mention; Buffy, Faith and Dawn.

With Buffy, it's very cool to see a non-slayer Buffy trying to protect her family like that and even sacrificing herself for them. Goes to show that it's not being a Slayer that gives her that courage and instinct, that it was in her all along. Very nice.

I can see Faith clearly in my brain pan. Her protectiveness of Dawn and the willingness to be there with Buffy, who I can imagine being very resistant to whatever the pride is putting her and Dawn through.

I can see a lot of Buffy in Joyce. Well it's probably that Buffy takes after her mother a lot.

I'm gushing, so I'm just gonna press the Submit Review button now.
Comments from author:
Thank you. I think insipid cheerleader or not Buffy would still care about her family and try to protect/save them the best she could during an emergency. I can see Faith bonding with the new outcasts because I don't believe she'd be a willing participant in tormenting/torturing a thirteen year old and she'd respond to Buffy trying, and probably failing, to protect her sister.

Joyce was always shown to be pretty fantastic at recovering from shocks. She might not do so well during the actual event, but she rallies with the best of them. Thank you for taking the time to review, the gushing was much appreciated. :)

The story is a bit rough yet on the part of Micah, but you've really fleshed out Joyce well.

Intriguing. I'd like to read more.
Comments from author:
I’m curious about the rough comment, generic I would have agreed with, but rough intrigues me. Micah is the most cordial of all of Anita’dom and since he’s the leading member of the Coalition for the Better Understanding Between Humans and Lycanthropes he’d have to be levelheaded and open minded towards the people coming to him. Would you be willing to be more specific? I’m always willing to improve my writing and feel free to send me a PM through my profile.

Joyce was the central character of the ficlet with Micah taking a far second and Vivian had a blink and you’ll miss it cameo so Joyce would have gotten the most fleshing out. Her pain in losing Hank, and by default her girls, and her shame in not being able to save them definitely took center stage. Truth be told though, this ficlet is a complete story. There maybe more in the future, muse permitting, but this is it for now. Thank you for taking the time to review and don’t be surprised if this review shows up in the anti-twits section of the TtH forums because your honesty is refreshing.

there need to be more of it. joyce the fierce mother is a great character!
Comments from author:
Sorry, but at this time the story is complete. There's a chance I might write more in this 'verse but it wouldn't always be Joyce centered. Thank you for reviewing.

Review:
I think seeing a Dawn perspective piece of the attack and aftermath would be great so I definitely hope your muse cooperates there! And I agree that Faith just seems to fit in the AB verse, she's got that right mix of broken and tough that all of the AB characters have. Plus I just love that for once she's the one protecting Buffy instead of the other way around.

And great storytelling deserves great reviews so you're welcome! And I will keep checking back for more of anything you write! :-D
Comments from author:
I think it would be interesting to see the attack from her perspective, but I'd have to contumplate on who the bounty hunter is before doing so. She does and I adore Faith for that very reason. It's always nice to see Faith in a positive light and she had/has the potential to be a really good person for Buffy to have in her corner.

*blushes* Thank you!
