The scoobies are starting to spread out and get things done. I am curious what the cloud from Willow's spell means though. Also there seems to be a bunch of blank lines at the end of this chapter.
Comments from author:
They were only expecting one cloud because they thought that Honor was going to be Sphinx's Champion.
I'll check out the blank lines, thanks for pointing it out.

Interesting contrast of the different command structures and styles of the two groups. Buffy and the scoobies haven't had the larger group of Slayers very long so they are still feeling their way and they did kick Buffy out just a week or two ago. Contrast that with the smoothly oiled military machine of Honor and her staff. I think Giles and Buffy will be getting some good advice from Honor very soon on leadership and personnel management. Tens of thousands of hellmouths is an awful lot, there is no way the current group can cover anything like that number, I wonder if they would not be better served trying to take the truth public, or at least to all major governments, in order to get logistical and training support for all those slayers. Even if they did nothing else apart from run from system to system activating the slayers it would still take them years and all the slayers would be completly untrained. I hope the Powers have some truly useful and informative dreams on the way for all those new slayers!
Comments from author:
You make some good points.
Don't forget though, waking the Champions is a geometric progression. It will start slow, but ramp up quickly.
Honor is definitely going to be having a chat with Buffy and Giles about leadership, you can count on it.
Thanks for the review.

BTW: While there 96 LACs in a wing, I believe they actually carry 106 LACs, if I remember correctly.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review.
Yes a LAC carrier carries a total of 106, but the other ten are spares and are not actually used for anything unless one of the wing LAC is not able to be used.

Have to laugh about the reviewer saying the Sunnydale group should have culture shock. After what they have had to deal with, this is nothing.
Honor by her nature probably will have a bit of a problem with the wild Child known as Faith. She will have to realize her value and why she is Buffy's executive officer(yeah I know that is kind of funny). That could be interesting.
Whedon was an idiot about a lot of things - the whole Initiative was truly cringe worthy; really a parody frankly of any military.
Comments from author:
Honor right now is more concerned with Faith's lack of confedence in herself rather than an trust issues with Faith herself.
Have to agree with you on Whedon and the military, espeically when in Angel it was reveled that the Intitiative has been around since WW2. There is no way a military institution could have been around that long and been that ameturish.

Grayson's reaction to all this should be interesting. Could go either way, but will be extreme ...either way. If it's presented right, then all this is a Test that they have to meet . So they could end up enthusiastically pro-slayer. Hey, fighting something that is evil incarnate is just what they want to do, after all.
Comments from author:
I don't foresee any problem with Grayson backing the fight against the First Evil, like you said, they'd look at it as a big test from the Tester and go at it. Being happy about Slayers though? That might take a little more doing.

A few things, from what I know of military grade power armour in honors universe it makes you at least equal to a slayer in strength, speed, senses. Because of this I think military weapons could easily handle 90-99% of the demons that exist, but the big factor is that with such an advanced tech base what demons they can't handle they will have a huge R&D machine to figure out how to handle.
Comments from author:
You're right, the demons are in for something of a shock. Given technology even vampires are going to have a tough time of it, have an air car equiped with a thermal sensor and have it do sweeps of downtown looking for air tempeture figures. There are still a couple of demons that are going to give even high tech people problems, and when you start moving into the high end creatures, even powered armor isn't going to be enough.
Poor Giles, stuck with Andrew in a small ship for a week. At least he has week to have Honor brief him on Grayson, her people and customs and what their leadership looks like both political and religious.
Good story looking forward to your next chapter.

Thanks, I hope I don't disappoint.

Sorry! I wasn't complaining about your story but about another that i found here on the website, your is just fine. I didn't mean to insult you or get you angry pal. And as for the Orbital bombardment thing, i simply suggested it for fun it would be great for the scoobies to see one in action thats all. But i agree it would be overkill. I am simply giving you my honest opinion.
Again i am sorry about that issue. Peace out.
