I haven't ever read or seen anything with Hellboy (excepting previews for the movies) but I am digging the story anyway. Major, major thanks for calling bullshit on the Marriage Law crap and I especially like the references to 'be[ing] a pureblood's walking uterus' because that's exactly what it is.

He knows by this point; it was made by the same people for her and she's only brought it to England to be modified to accept a wand core so she doesn't need to fumble between her wand and her gun in mid-fight.

I'll be honest, up until you introduced the dog I was thinking more along the lines of Dante from Devil May Cry than Hellboy, and on the first refrence to 'Red' I was thinking Buffy. Right around the second 'Red' refrence I started thinking Hellboy instead, but it still came as a little surprise.

No, I was thinking hellhound that refined itself into barghest given the locale. Dante's under a glamour.

Charming narrative, pacing and characterization that isn't too crackety because of the Hellboy crossover.

Honestly, I think Luna de-cracks any fic because Luna is like, crack incarnate. So her being herself is just normal.

Intriguing chapter. I loved Luna's gun, the reference to D&D (though really, Paladin's can suck. Haven't they seen Miko from Order of the Stick?) and especially to Wicked. I love Elphaba, and this Luna is somewhat like her - as she noted.
i wonder what would have happened had Hermione gone ot Pansy... she might have been intorduced to Tracey or Daphne, who might be willing to agree to marrying her... or having a threesome. Maybe she'll meet them when she come to the Wizengamot - two more witches having found a loophole, and actually eager to enter a marriage?

I have entire histories done up for both Daphne and Tracey that I carry across all my versions of the character these days; the two would actually be eligible to marry each other because my Daphne is a pureblood but my Tracey is a half-blood.

Loving this story. Always disliked the "Hermione/Marriage Law" stories as they all have her giving up on fighting it after the first paragraph, which is a total misreading of her character. (remember "SPEW"? heh) . Can't wait for the Ministry/Wizangamot's reaction. Though my bet is after shock etc, they'd hastily try to amend the law to close her loophole. So she'd need to officially marry Luna before letting them find out, ie "fait accompli".
Considering how much prejudice Hagrid & the like face, Hellboy. Their heads would explode. Hm... Luna/Hermione might face charges of violating the 'secrets act' letting muggles know about their world. HB is a 'magical creature' and thus ok, but he works with muggles. Then again maybe that's for the American wizards to worry about? ie outside of Ministry jurisdiction ?
Most of all--not sure Molly W. is going to be happy about this. Heh.

He. The way you develop this reminds me a bit of your first Hermione/Luna story, Soundtrack to Your Life. Only this works better, the Characters are older and more believable.
