What a tease! Very good one-shot, but still leaves the reader with many questions and wanting a follow-up. >_<

You've brought up something that I've considered before myself; using the example of Wolverine, his mutant healing factor allowed him to live essentially indefinitely, as it counteracted the effects of aging.

Why wouldn't a Slayer's body/healing ability do the same? While it can heal wounds at a much higher rate than a human, and certainly slower than Wolverine's, the effects of aging are much slower and much more assiduous. So, why COULDN'T a Slayer live much longer, or even long enough to be around after the human diaspora? Good concept.

Review:
Very interesting. Dawn would always be Buffy's first child. To any mother that one is always just a little more special.
Comments from author:
Yes. In this 'verse, Mal's the first one she's let get anywhere near that important to her in all the five hundred years since Dawn.
