Ooh, very nicely done. The perfect way to wet our appetite for the, hopefully, more to come. It's nice that he doesn't instantly know everything Batman knows. That's nice and works very well, and all, but this has the feel of being something different. I liked his inner musings at the end of the chapter. Here's to hoping that we get more soon.

Considering how large my outline and character charts are growing, there's definitely more to come.

I've always been bugged by fics where Xander comes out of Halloween with instant knowledge and instant skills of his character at no cost to himself. There's some precedent in canon, true, but it cheapens his character to turn him into a blank slate for some other personality to impress.

Is Batman going to be real in this story? Or an imaginary character that Xander happened to be for one night? If he is a real person, then that 'hello Alexander' was Bruce Wayne, and he will be able to help Xander major big time!! I don't know about the comics or anything, but I'm not that crazy about the Batman movies. He's always depicted as this repressed and depressed brooding dark avenger type. I just find him annoying. The one thing I admire about him is that he is a regular human who trained his body and mind to its maximum potential, and goes out to put his life on the line to stop criminals. So Bruce Wayne/Batman IS a hero. He is just an annoying one. Regardless. If he could get Xander to be the best he can be, it would probably go a long way to helping Xander survive.

I think we already have one of those in the BtVS universe.

What you admire about Batman is much what Xander admires, and part of why he decided to wear that particular costume. As for Batman's potential presence, I'm afraid you're just going to have to wait for the next chapter.
