Great work on blending these universes - that does make a lot of people looking for Dexter now! I especially like how you have contrasted the monologues of the serial killer and the spy. The different base personalties make for a different result from a similar concept. Can't wait to see how you tie the buffyverse into this. Perhaps thru the physical similarity of Darla and Rita? Or would that be too easy? :)

That's part of it but not the whole story - that's one of several symptoms of something strange going down, not the cause.

Thanks - the thing about Dexter, which I think some stories miss, is that his life is insanely complicated - he's continually trying to juggle dozens of balls, and occasionally comes close to dropping them.

Going by the information the NCIS gang have available right now, the primary link between all of the cases they're checking out is Debra, and she appears to be more of an incidental victim than any sort of serial killer. And since she's currently in the hospital, recovering from a bullet wound, it doesn't look like they have to worry about her possibly running away from them f they need to talk to her again.

I'm enjoying this immensely.

Hopefully the next chapter will be up a little faster - for various reasons I need to take the plot in a slightly different direction than originally planned, but I've laid most of the groundwork for that now.

Still loving it so far....lemme guess- Ziva and Fi both got better acquainted with Michael around the same time? Still fun to think about tho :D

I am enjoying this a lot. You've really got the tone of Burn Notice and NCIS and from what I have seen of Dexter you've nailed that as well. I look forward to seeing more.

I have liked your story from the beginning, but thought you were going overboard on your characterization of Caine until last night's creepy ending. After watching the implication that Caine was about to beat the crap out of a possibly innocent if somewhat asshole-sh suspect based on the accusations of the actual killer, I think it wouldn't be too hard to believe that Caine might deserve Dexter's services or at least approve of them.

There was an episode I saw a while ago which ended with Caine letting someone free, knowing that he planned to kill someone else, and doing nothing to stop it. Admittedly Gibbs has done much the same thing, hesitating to shoot a marine who eventually killed a mob boss, but Gibbs never claims to be an impartial seeker of truth. Caine does, loudly and often.

I just re-read the entire story again, and have to compliment you on how seamlessly the crosses join together.

I loved seeing Sonny Crockett show up, and hope we see more of him in the future, as opposed to Caine, who has always impressed me more as a judgmental asshole (although I do commend him for his loyalty to his team).

I also liked Fornel's trying to point Gibbs and his team towards finding the actual killer of his friend while not actually saying anything that might come back to bite either of them at a later date was also fun to re-read. ;-)

And will we be seeing Fiona and Ziva in any sort of cat fight? (He said hopefully.) ;-)

Ziva has history with both Michael AND Fiona? I know I should've been expecting something like that, but you managed to surprise me again.

People like Michael, Ziva and Fi tend to move in similar circles. It shouldn't be altogether surprising if they've had a previous encounter.

Fiona got up from the table where she'd been watching us, and came over to us. "Ziva," I said, "This is Fiona Glenanne. Fi, Ziva David."

"We've met," they said together. Neither of them sounded happy about it.
