Cool. Add me to the list of those looking forward to seeing where this takes Tara and eventually Willow. I quite like what you've done so far, and its an intriguing way of jumping off from Seeing Red.

I can see Willow getting somewhat annoyed if she eventually turns up and finds Tara in another relationship. Not to mention Olaf's reaction if he runs into either of them...
Greatly looking forward to more.

Thank you! Of course in 28 seconds there wasn't time for Osiris to warn Willow that he'd be sending Tara directly to the vicinity of an attractive lesbian...

Interesting start, one question are you using Robert E. Howard's Conan or the movies for the purpose of your story?
Edit Thanks for the head's up, the few short stories by Howard that I've read feature a much more engaging world and protagonist than the movies. One thing that annoy me greatly is that all stories seem to use the stupid movie Conan, not the intelligent one from the books.

Thank you! The Robert E. Howard Conan, definitely, I'm not at all a fan of the movie version.

Great stuff, looking forward to the next thrilling installment.
Nice to see Tara getting a look in for a chance, it'll be interesting to see whether her changed circumstances change her outlook on life.
Anyway, just a little aside here, nothing meant by it; did you know its usually the men at the back of a formation that run away first? It was just brought to mind by your comment about the bravery of being out of range (which is also very true).
Oh yes! one last thing, 'The Witch's Promise', a reference to Jethro Tull perhaps?

Of course I know that it's usually the men at the back of a formation who run away first; it's been known for thousands of years, which is why some of the Ancient Greek city-states used to arrange their phalanxes with veteran warriors making up the rear files to stop that happening.
Yes, 'The Witch's Promise' is indeed a Jethro Tull reference. Don't, however, expect Tara to invent the seed drill and introduce "horse-hoeing husbandry" to the Hyborian Age.

A story in the Age of Hyboria is always fun. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you! There'll probably be more fairly soon, these short chapters don't take long to write, but I can't give any firm promises about the timescale.
