Review of chapter "School day" from Morgomir
Review:
Great story so far. My complete lack of knowledge concerning anime and manga are not keeping me from enjoying the fic. Keep up the good work.
Comments from author:
Thank you Morgomir.

Writing my stories so that it can be enjoyable even if you know nothing of the fandoms is something I always try to do.

Nice new chapter, not much action, but very interesting developments instead. With things like that, who needs action? Well, thanks for writing this, bye for now.
Comments from author:
Thank you, Deathgeonous.

As you know, constructing the universe is very important for me.

I am so loving this! I am a big anime fan and even bigger Robotech/Macross fan! Now is we could only get Halo in it it would be perfect! But that could be done easly with the way Halo 3 ended, with them finding his ship in space.
Comments from author:
Thank you AlphaBeta,

I prefer to keep my list of fandom as is. This a matter of universe coherence.

If the matter is seeing people like Master Chief or Cortana... then that can be arranged. AI are common in the fleet and I have Olympus combat bioroids (like Thereus in Appleseed Ex Machina or Fang in the manga) to emulate Spartans

[quoting]“I wish we could construct a bigger ship,” said Kaname, as, in her head, the schematics of the New Macross Colonization ship started to emerge from the Whispers…[end quoting]

Ooo, now that is a possible upgrade to link to the SDF-1.
I shiver for what happens when a certain goddess of knowledge hears of it.

A Veritech with a Lamba driver?
Auw, that is just cruel.
Makes you wonder what else they could ad to it.

So, no Gundam characters or so?
Like Seed, Wing, 00, UC or so?
The metal armor, phase shift armor, GN-drives, I-field beam barrier and Minovsky Ultracompact Fusion Reactor, ect.
Yeah. I know, but the fun factor could be nice.

Maybe a Mako (with crew) from ME-1 and a shuttle (with crew) from ME-2?
But a few R2 units from star wars and perhaps a few spartans from Halo could be intresting as well.
Heck, is there a Doctor Halsey in the house?

As for the Macross/Robotech their sea-going carriers their ability to dive, read up super-cavitatie.
Bet with a little anti-grav, you should be able to create a bubble of something that ain´t water, around them, ad engines like the SDF-1 has and.....
Hope they recovered that Mithrill sub, if only for it´s material.

Bit shocked that there wasn´t a Space-battleship Yamato in their little fleet, it´s almost as much a icon as the SDF-1.
But did I just read a hint about a certain facility beneed NORAD?

Edit: (again!!!! stupid machine, deleting my edit)

Shame on their being no Dominion Tank Police, though it might be better for the city.
They got a habit of shooting first and ask maybe later, while stationed in a big city, driving heavy tanks and even owning a few heavy artillery pieces.
Dito on Battlestar Galactic (old or new), Bubblegum Crisis and the Doctor from Star Trek Voyager (though the later might be for the best).

What will Protoculture fuel cells do togeter with a Lambda Driver?
Just a odd thought

Here, just one of many gundam wiki´s.

Thanks for the review and ideas, Vianca.

The list of fandoms in chapter 1 is more or less final as I don't really like to have cameos, preferring to mesh things in a coherent universe. More than adding new series, you will rather see some characters going through 'upgrades', like, as you said, a Veritech fighter with a Lambda Driver. Drusilla/Caerula Sanguis with lightsabers from Tenchi Muyo is also a distinct possibility (she can already parry bullets in Last Order).

Concerning Gundam, I did not consider it as I don't have enough knowledge of it (I have seen most episodes of Gundam Wing quite a while ago.)

For Mass Effect and Halo, no need. Between Battle Angel Alita, Appelseed and Ghost in the Shell, I have all the necessary to justify combat bioroids and cyborgs. The Macross Overtechnology and the FMP Black Technology being strong basis of the one from the fleet, you will see more of it. For the Mithril submarine, please refer to the scene where Tessa goes into the Danaan.

Concerning the Yamato, I considered it (I loved the Live Action Movie), but the fact they probably have an Asgard-level FTL engine was causing me issues, as well as the integration of the Yamato universe in the Traveller's universe. So I finally dropped it.

Finally, yes you read well. The universe where Sunnydale stands is a SG - BTVS crossover, the 'costume' universes being parallel realities.

EDIT: on your question regarding Protoculture fuel cells, the issue does not exist for this story, if I interpret correctly what you are speaking about. The energy cells created from the Flowers of Life are a thing existing in Robotech, but not in the original Macross Continuity which I am using.

In fact, something akin to a specialized Lambda Driver exists in Macross Seven.

Review:
I like it. It shows a slice of life, that is very interesting and changing. I like how you showed how everyone adapts to the situation.

If the priest is smart (and it seems he is) he will declare Atlantis either Eden or Noah's Ark. Ancients can easily be said to have been first people, with Adam being singular being a metaphor in the bible.

Cross-technization! Good. They stop to construct/transform- this is smart.

At least as an omake it would be fun to watch macross fleet appearing in the orbit when Anubis attacks. And reflex cannon-ing his fleet.

Has you given any thought as to what happens back on Earth? On all fronts - mystical community just lost a Slayer, a Hellmouth and city full of demons, not to mention the key (Glory will be pissed!). American nation just lost a town and came under attack (the effects of exchanging the Sunnydale with a sphere vacuum would rival if not surpass a use of atomic weapon in destructiveness - at least L.A. would suffer). This may well lead to disclosure (of Stargate, I mean).
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review, yog.

A 'Meanwhile, back on old Earth' chapter is planned, but will not be done immediately. You are perfectly right that you can't have a sphere with a diameter of something like ten kilometers going missing in what I decided (for this story) would be the Santa Barbara area without repercussions.

It makes me think I have to make some guesses and calculations about the shockwave created by the air rushing to fill in that vacuum.

i have never even heard of this anime so i have no idea whats going on in this story.its very well written though so im gonna see if you have written anything else interesting.
Comments from author:
Thank you for the review, Kano.

I try to keep it readable even if you do not know the mentioned series (though things may 'click' a lot slower and you may not notice some allusions).

Otherwise, the list of fandoms is in chapter 1.

I must say I tend to favor creating a coherent crossover world over strict adherence to canon.

Great new chapter. I'm kinda looking forward to seeing when they come across the stargate part of the story. It's be mentioned in vague references so far, but not actually come into play. It might be a while longer though, maybe you want the characters to finish adjusting and preparing first.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review, Cagefire.

You will see more of the stargate background soon.

Make sure that if the build a new macross class vessel, they also build the attached New Macross Battlecarrier from the Frontier era.

Thanks for the review, Panaka.

This is indeed a possibility (and a good reason to watch Macross Frontier, that I recently acquired).

Review:
Nice update.

A great look into the life of some of the people in Macross City. I like how you seem to be recreating the original feel of Robotech with scenes from both the command level and the people on the street level to give a wider picture of life in the fleet.

Interesting approach to have the fleet approach system unlikely to have life in them. Are they actively avoiding the possiblity of a first contact, it would be smart given their vulnerability while they deal with the effects of the changes that have happened to them.

I also like how you have some of the residents realize that in some cases the saying Can't go home again really applies. Those that have developed powers or lost themselves really don't have anything to go home to on Earth. On Earth they would go from a large minority with influence given the situation they face to a small minority that people might fear.

Look forward to more of their adventures through the galaxy.
Comments from author:
Thank you for the review cjcold,

That feel that we have real populations living in the ships is something I really like about the different Macross series. You see how the people live, how they react and cope while the heroes try to keep them in one piece. So this is something you will see again as the series progress (and a reason for the plethora of characters, as it reinforces the idea it's a 60K inhabitants city).

For your question on the uninhabited systems, Carrington is a former sub commander who spent most of the Cold War in the North Atlantic. This is bound to color some of his decisions.

Review of chapter "Fold in!" from Maltor
Review:
I like the changes, it seems to flow better now. I also like the approach to this chapter, where you primarily focus on 1 character, in this case Willow, and used her to show what happened with her and the fleet in general at the same time. I think that would be a good approach to take with future chapters.

Also, even if the fleet isn't going to run into anyone from the SGC soon, perhaps a chapter could show a glimpse into how they are reacting to a portion of southern California suddenly going missing? I guess that would depend on when It takes place, 1st or 2nd season or later if you've been playing with the timelines for either SG1 or Buffy.
Comments from author:
Thanks, Maltor.

As you can see, chapter 8 follow roughly this structure too. My idea is that Chapter 1-6 is the 'pilot episode' and I am now entering Season 1 of the Traveller's Chronicles, with more focus on certain characters for a given episode/chapter.

For your second question, a chapter "Meanwhile, on old Earth" is something I will do eventually, but not yet.

The timing relatively to Stargate can be found in Chapter 1. It is said a group of warrior had recently slain Ra. Ergo, we are during the year when Daniel is on Abydos, between the movie and opening of Season 1 of Stargate.

Review:
It's been a long time since you last updated. I'm glad to see a new chapter, even if I don't recognize most of the characters either because I've never seen those series or because it's been so many years since I have that I've forgotten. I'm trying to remember, is there a complete list of characters organized by series, or at least a complete list of series. I think I saw macross on netflix, I'm wondering if some of the others are on there also. Although macross(at least the first one), is one I still mostly remember.

Edit: Didn't notice the rewritten notice. I'll have to go back and reread.

Update: I went back and reread everything. It makes a little more sense now. I wonder when the SG-1 part will come in. Maybe they'll stumble upon a stargate along the way. That'd give them a way back, eventually, they still would need the address, although joyce/washu could probably figure that out. Still, I'm guessing they wouldn't all go back right away as most of them have been changed. Also, looking at the series listing, I realize that I've only seen about half of those listed in chapter 1. The rest I'm unfamiliar with, which is sad as some of them sound pretty cool, and it would give me a better understanding of their character background.
Comments from author:
I finally got around my writer block and started to post on this story and my other main fic.

I have a list of series used in the disclaimer of chapter 1, but no organized list of characters. As they refer to themselves by universe, they are more or less recognizable. My policy is to try to make a fic that is readable even if you know nothing about the fandoms. You just have a plus if you get some allusions.

So, I hope you enjoyed this story so far and will enjoy my next updates
