I'm gonna walk away from this one, because of the Highlander cross. Never read one i liked, ofcourse with the exception of the first movie anything named Highlander on silverscreen or TV was crap, so that probably has something to do with it.

Okay, nothing appeals to everyone.
If you don't like HL, then that's your prerogative.
The big three traditionally in the DC Universe are Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman.
By making Batman an enhanced Immortal, you have put him on a more equal footing with the others (strength and long life). It will be interesting to see what effect his new abilities have on his approach to crime fighting.
Comments from author:
Very true, my friend. Batman is definitely one of the DC icons.
However, since this is based on the Nolan-verse batman, this is very near the beginning of Batman's career, and whether Superman and Wonder Woman and/or any of the other heroes have appeared is yet undecided.
And as you point out, how his new enhancements will affect Bruce's approach to his chosen field of endeavor is yet to be seen.

After reading this chapter, I suspect that Giles, Buffy, Xander, and Willow are all Immortals as well. I have to wonder how this happened. Were they all adopted? If Buffy was adopted, then did Joyce remember adopting Dawn instead of giving birth to her? I'm also not sure how I feel about their Immortality. I don't like seeing them die, but I'm not sure how much of themselves they'd keep after living for an eternity. This might also keep Buffy from returning to Heaven.
Comments from author:
Your suspicions are interesting, no question about that.
How and why one or more of the Scoobies might be an Immortal will be addressed in the course of the stories that follow, as will your other comments and questions.
Nice. I'm liking the series so far, and Bruce's reactions to his newly-discovered abilities works perfectly. He's taken the most likely cause - the Orpheus fumes - as the reason for his new abilities. And since Orpheus is a drug, he'll be pursuing it, and since it's supernatural, he'll discover its source.
And the immortality plus vampire strength ought to help playing Batman now.
Looking forward to more.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review.
Given the role he's assumed in Gotham, Bruce has trained himself to be as logical as he can be, so deciding that his new abilities are derived form his exposure to Orpheus is a completely reasonable step.
It's only when he determines that no one else has gained abilities like his from similar exposure will he be willing to start looking outside the fairly clearly defined lines he generally works within.
Once he starts doing that, though, things are gonna start getting crazy. ;-)

On one side, Game Over man, Bruce Will Win The Prize... on the other side, I don't really think that Bruce, having traveled around the world would be that ignorant about vamps and how to figth them. Anyhow, cool chapter dude, see ya!.
Comments from author:
This does appear to give Bruce a significant advantage over your typical Immortal, doesn't it?
All I can say at the moment is that you have to wonder if Bruce is the first Immortal to die in such a fashion, and if he's not, then how have the other Immortals compensated for such advantages?
Glad you enjoyed the chapter.

It says something when one's initial reaction to the end of the first scene is to simply say, "Well f***." An Immortal, vampirized Bruce Wayne. This is possibly the most terrifying idea ever.
Comments from author:
Thanks. That sort of reaction makes writing this completely worthwhile. ;-)
I really like the beginning of your story. I wonder how long it will take Batman to figure out that what happened to him was not scientific and not logical. I can't wait to see how his physical changes alter his personality. I hope you update this story quickly.
Comments from author:
Given the training he's made a point of getting earlier in his life, once Bruce realizes that he can't find any sort of scientific or natural explanation for what's happened, he's going to face up to the possibility that the only other explanation is that it's something supernatural, and then go on from there.
