I'd love to know what cover story they come up with to explain her being alive. Kidnapped by terrorists and replaced by a look-alike, who was then killed? Only now freed from captivity? It'd almost be true... Or they could just shrug and say they haven't a clue. Big mystery. All sorts of wild theories will come out, none of them remotely close to the truth...

No comment right now, though it may be revealed in the next chapter.

So............. i finally got around to reading all of this... which can only mean that you're way overdue for the next chapter! Nowish, please. I really do hope you haven't run out of story because I'm in withdrawal.
Peace,
blue

Sorry to take so long to get back to you Blue. But Chapter 3 is next up after New Places 8.

Well now, this is getting interesting. Certainly you have hit your stride with this chapter as things have begun to move, and rather quickly at that. I have always enjoyed Loki's interference and this is just one more bit of fun with it.

I get this image of O'Neill trying to explain the situation and Gibb's cop instincts getting in the way:
"So O'Neill, let me see if I have this straight." The ex-Marine said. "The species that cloned Kate left you all their knowledge, the greatest storehouse of information in the universe, worth more money that Earth has, and then committed suicide."
"Uh, yeah." The General stated.
"The will was verbal and not recorded so you have no proof of transfer of legal ownership , just a lot of corpses surrounding the loot that you walked off with."
"Uh, well we didn't actually see the bodies or anything..."
Gibbs glared at the Airforce officer for a moment.
"You know Gibbs I once sent a guy up for twenty to life with a better story than that." Tony added helpfully.

Not quite what I have planned for the conversation, but you did give me some things to think about.
Thanks for the review, and the laugh.

I'm really loving this! You've got Gibbs, Tony, and Abby down flat, and poor Kate is in such a unique situation! I can't wait to see her interact with Ziva a bit more... and to see what O'Neill's suggestion is about what to do next!

Glad you are enjoying it. Thanks for the review.

This is one crackerjack beginning. I have no idea of where your story is going, but I'd bet everything I own it is going to awesome. Now write more, please?
Edit: I wonder if Kate is related to a certain Boston medical examiner? Or if Loki made another clone? Lol!

While I'm glad that Sasha Alexander is back doing series work, sorry, no.

That was a very unexpected explanation and only slightly more plausible than a dimensional shift. Sp: losing for loss or lost. Loosing for making less tight.

Okay, if here gun is recent, they should ask her about the last 3 major cases she was on. If they match the cases they did with Ziva then we're talking about slipping in from a parallel reality. Like in Star Trek.
Comments from author:
That's an interesting idea, but as you have seen from reading the next chapter that's not what happened. Thanks for the review.

Great fun! A very confusing day for all of them, little do they know it has just begun. So sad to see O'Neil talking to an AI instead of Thor, but he should have fun reading in the NCIS crew. After all if you can't celebrate when a friend returns from the dead when can you?
Comments from author:
Too true.
When I orginally plotted this out, it had been Thor with Loki just having a change of heart, or seeing the light. Then, they went and killed the Asgard off and I needed to make some adjustments.
