Review:
I fought the law and the law won... brilliant read you know! Illegal search
and seizure trumped by assault and evading arrest, Buffy is not doing too bad
for being drunk, a regular drunk would have just stood there stupidly staring at
the illegal gun in Lockley's hand. Brenda is the character Claudia played? The creature
can't be killed unless it escapes from inside the victim and the shooter has that chrome
doohicky looking gun.
Comments from author:
Thank-you.
Yes Claudia Christian the zoned out stripper!

Buffy's drinking problem is still in its fairly early stages so while she might not make the best choices (when did she ever?) she's still more or less still all there. She's still using the booz to get over the difficult parts of her life, not just to function on a day to day level, that comes later.

Lots of gun play soon!

Cheers,
Dave.

Review:
Come to California, you will get a lot of fun: running away from the law, buying ilegal guns, and let's not forget, figthing a murderous alien in a killing spree. It's fun for the whole family =D!!!!.
Cordy as Caritas owner and an high end call girl??. Like Buffy said, Cordy was never stupid, or little.

Cool chapter, see ya!!.
Comments from author:
Cordy the call-girl.

That episode of A:TS here she went to that party and left with the vamp. I watched that and thought that could have ended in so many different ways. So I ran with the Call-girl thing. I also always thought that whatever she did, Cordy would never completely lose control of her life. If there was one girl from Sunnydale High that was going to succeed it would be Cordy!

Yes by the end of this fic Buffy will be glad to get back to the cozy world of Saltburn-by-the-Sea!

Cheers,
Dave.

Review:
To Ltloncf: what happened after Buffy died the second time is irrelevant. The important thing regarding the slayer line happened after her first death, when Kendra inherited the slayer line. However, although Buffy from the officious viewpoint thereafter had no obligations as a slayer, she was still a slayer. What makes a slayer is not the specific manner in which they become one or what happens later. A slayer is one imbued with the slayer essence. This means Buffy remained a slayer. It also means that all the girls activated in 'Chosen' are slayers, even though they weren't Called in the "official" manner.

Furthermore, the Shadowmen created the Slayer, and the Watchers are their annointed successors, and they recognise Buffy as still being the slayer (The Watchers AND the Shadowmen). Vampires, demons and supernatural world call her Slayer. The PTB, the overseers of the supernatural world, recognise her as the slayer, sending her slayer dreams. Prophecies still consider her the slayer.

To author: interesting story. I haven't watched 'The Hidden' for a long time, but I am assuming that alcohol is some kind of defense versus the alien? I recently obtained a videotape of 'The hidden 2' for $1 from my local public library, but I haven't watched it yet.
Comments from author:
The alcohol thing is a thread running through this series of fics and is all part of Buffy's coming struggle with alcoholism.

Cheers,
Dave.

Wonder what kind of firearm is gonna get Buffy, I hope is something sensible, maybe a .500 S&W Magnum =D???.

Guns and Buffy? This will not end well...
Comments from author:
The only question is...for whom?

Dave.

PS; I've noticed your recent comments on Buffy's driving abilities. To be honest I have no recollection of Buffy driving in S6 or 7. However this is probably because I haven't watched those seasons in a long time (but I do remember Willow driving). Whatever, I bow to your superior memory. In a chapter or two we have a driving scene where Buffy is a bad driver. I did this mainly because I thought it funnier that way and in my defence this is a slightly alternate reality...you've probably noticed no mention of Angel.

Cheers,
Dave.

Review:
Howdy,

Hmmm, damn Buffy humble much? Lest not even go into that the second time ya died NO ONE WAS CALLED...so no dear (let me break it to you gently) you are NOT THE Slayer. Hurts, I know, and the show IS called after you and its not your fault Joss ignored that Empire State Building-sized plot hole, but it is what it is.
But...good idea to NOT rub Wes's nose in you NOT calling him back to service (whether he'd say no or not) or that that you trash Faith's status as Slayer after he's made his peace with her.
Ahhh, that Buffy ego in full bore again!

Anyhow, yah gotta love her bein' concerned over things even when it ain't her business, but she'd better pull in her horns and let Wes lead the fight.
Also liked that Cordy concerend her as well and that she's willin' ta give the woman another chance. Be intersted to find out how she's not with Wes and the gang.

Oh and nice touch about the passport: you're right, it was booked overseas and unless Buffy got a license and kept it up to date it may be void in a few years. Besides, it'd make sense for her to become a UK citizen or at least get a long-term visa...so yeah, the hotel may well have asked for the passport if Buffy lacked any other ID.
Worked a hotel as security so I've seen it done. However if she had a UK license, many would take that!
Comments from author:
Cheers,
Actually that whole thing about the passport brought up some stuff I'd not really thought about (bad me). Does Buffy actually have a license if so is it British or US. Some of this may be answered later on. Also the thing about the visa is something else I'd not thought of and it effects all the US personnel at Slayer Central, I expect they've all got resident's visas. Perhaps they might take out duel citizenship if they're all going to stay in the UK long term.

Thought provoking stuff...or I could deal with it like JW did by not dealing with it!

Review:
One quibble so far. Buffy is an american citizen by birth - no hotel is going to ask to see her passport. Lots of Americans don't even have them. They just ask to see your Driver's License for ID, which is the most common form of ID here in the States.

EDIT: As someone born in CA, who lived there until at least 20 years of age, she *would* have either a CA Driver's License or CA Identification Card. It's inconceivable that she would not have had one or the other. She wouldn't be able to effectively function in modern society or enroll in college without one. Either way, that's what she would show to the hotel.
Comments from author:
Interesting...I shall remember that.

But, did Buffy ever get her license? Also the room was booked from England (although that is not actually stated but as she's living in England its safe to assume that's what happened). So as she's someone traveling in from overseas it felt logical to be asked for her passport.

Cheers,
Dave.

Review:
The Hidden/Buffy crossover! So which version, Claudia Christian or Kate Hodge? Cordy was acting? Well done, she performed your lines very well indeed. Now that weird dialog between Fred and Wussley, where did that come from?

Reply 5/11/11: Claudia's character died unfortunately but Kate was the carrier's daughter (I think) years later in Hidden II. It wasn't as entertaining though, lots of angst.

No not the Weasely family please! Just Wuss from Buffy season 3. I just resented his scornful attitude when Buffy went to them for assistance and information, which they already had. But great news there is no WRH!
Comments from author:
There's another version of The Hidden? I only know the one with Claudia Christian...met her once.

Fred and Weasely? Just a bit of dire Straits.

More surprises from Cordy soon!

Cheers,
Dave.

Winifred and Wesley teh hehehehe =D!. I like 'hem, they're very likeable, and Harmony, the least menacing vamp in the west coast together with Doyle, was a very funny touch =D.
And Buffy's befuddlement about the whole situation was... veery Buffy like =).
So they don't know about the aliens, that means no SGC??.
Cool chapter, see ya!!.
Comments from author:
Cheers.

When I was writing this series I had to decide what existed and what didn't. One of the things that had to go was the SGC, but that didn't stop me writing a SG1 xover!

I always liked Doyle it was a pity he 'left'. In fact I liked most of the Angel main characters except for one...I wonder if you can guess who that might be!

Sorry but you cannot get lost in LA, mainly because if you step off a main street you're suddenly in a neighborhood with leafy trees, lawns hedges and driveways. There is nothing confusing about a street grid layout, just turn around and follow the traffic noise. There is that thing about Cordy being her uber self? Looking forward to more.
Comments from author:
I'm used to London, that a couple of random turns and...hey where am I!?

But we are talking Buffy here, I think she could get lost anywhere!

There's more to Cordy than meets the eye!

Dave.

Cool fic dude, and I really liked the movie you're basing this fic; let's see how Buffy can handle such a dangerous enemy and learn to trust the cops.
Cool chapter, see ya!.
Comments from author:
Before I wrote this I'd been looking for a way to do a 'Hidden' xover for a few years. Hope I get it right.

More soon.
