Review of chapter "Coming Home" from Harry
Review:
Well, House and Giles are both having to adapt to the life that they have, now that they are back on their feet. House is slowly starting to woo Cordy, who is his sarcastic female half. Giles is learning that he no longer has the same desire for doing research that he did before he went on this journey. Both have changed and both are adjusting to it. As for Xander and Dawn Patrol, that is something that both are going to have to take some time getting used to.
Comments from author:
Everyone's gonna have adapting to do. Coming home is great, but even when the war's done, and everyone's all right, change keeps coming. I think Giles has discovered that all the things he thought of himself as doing have been taken over and he feels a bit left out... on the other hand, it's an opportunity to do whatever it is he wants to do. House and Cordelia... I think the adjustment may be more how other people adjust to dealing with the two of them together!

Dawn and Xander... yeah, they're gonna adjust. They're gonna adjust very well indeed.

Review of chapter "The Other Side" from Cordyfan
Review:
Great chapter. Good to see Giles - and the others - safely back from WRH's dimension, with the added bonus that they're no longer a problem. Excellent bit of planet-busting by Dawn - and nice nod to Stargate SGC and Carter.

I almost (but not quite) feel sorry for Althenea - a magic-less shell of a person, with her own coven eventually turning their backs on her at the end. Ethan came through, however, and it was a real surprise that Buffy offered him a job.

Thanks for writing this
Comments from author:
First, I deeply appreciate the time you've taken to review my story thoughtfully and often. Thank you.

I'm glad you like the chapter. I really enjoyed destroying the WRH dimension and since I didn't use Stargate as a cross, I decided it would be a fun nod to one of the more audacious 'solutions' that SG-1 ever came up with.

Althanea is a tragic figure. Hard to feel sympathy for her. The whole situation was a slow motion train wreck -- I hadn't intended to turn Althanea into Dawn's bête noire, but she's just one of those gifts that writers get sometimes.

I'm not sure anyone is as surprised that *he* came through as Ethan himself. If I were going to be writing another sequel, he would probably figure hugely in it, but alas, I have other storylines to finish and a book to write. I think Buffy learned as much as Ethan in this whole mess. She backed the wrong horse. She doubted her sister. She did to Dawn what Dawn did to her back in Sunnydale when Dawn threw her out of the house - though maybe not quite as much of a betrayal -- but she doubted Dawn the way Dawn doubted her when Buffy wanted to do something 'ridiculous'.

Ironically, had she really listened, things might have gone very differently, but life is a product of our choices... had Buffy done the 'right' thing, and had Althanea agreed to loan Dawn the strength of the coven, they might have gotten folks back from the other side, but like the goa'uld Carter blew up, I think the senior partners would have found a way to survive and a much bigger resentment.

Whew.

That was a hell of a chapter....not sure what to say, because I find it hard to pick something to praise....the whole chapter was just great!

and Buffy offering Ethan a job? Priceless. Simply priceless. I mean, better to have chaos on your side, right?
Comments from author:
Well, I'm delighted you enjoyed it. It was one of those chapters that felt more like childbirth than making out. :-) difficult to write.

I really enjoyed having Ethan in my sandbox... and writing that scene with Buffy was a great deal of fun. Chaos rules!

Review:
Only question now is who will take their place. Chances are, there will be the equivalent of a Gangland war as the various groups jockey for control
Comments from author:
The truth is there will always be bad folks out there. That's why the good guys are there... and they just got a few more folks to help them (and dragons!!). Yes, I'm sure there's gonna be bad stuff happening... Apply: Buffy, Dawn, Angel, Spike, etc.. and Xander'll keep everyone fed, patched up, loved and strong enough to fight the fight, and sometimes he'll pitch in too. I think it'll be OK. The way of the world is that there's always another fight. Fortunately, there are also always heroes.

This was a good chapter, and it looks as if Ethan might actually clean up his act. Or not - it was always hard to tell with him.
Comments from author:
Thank you. It was actual real work to write for some reason. I think Ethan's gonna be turning over a new leaf. Doesn't mean he'll be remotely normal! :-)

Wow, so the Dog, the Goat and the Venizon got toasted by Dawn's "Carter Special"... cool!!!!.
Nice to see the dragon and her kid are here, and Rog old Rog, at least he well be able to start over being here, and with an added family as a bonus =D!.

So long Alty, that's what ya get for being a control freak.
Cool chapter, see ya!!!!.
Comments from author:
Yup, the bad guys went BOOM!! BAM! POW! Toaaaaaaaassssssted!

Had to make that little homage to my favorite Stargate scientist! Yup, no idea what a couple of dragons and a few reptile demons are gonna do, but you know they'll be good in a fight! Felt bad about Joss killing off poor Philippa's human family (she's Lydia's sister -- as in Lydia wrote her thesis about Spike and got blowed up by Caleb) so I gave her family... of demons!

Bye, Bye Althy! hehe.

Review:
Regarding Althanea's(sp?) "fascination" with Giles, I've heard it said many many times that there's a thin line between love & hate. And it's very easy for one to become the other when spurned. Not saying it would be right, but it would be natural.
Comments from author:
Human nature is seldom good or logical. It's often not even sane. Althanea fell in love. Giles didn't. Giles, in fact was much closer to the 'bad' magic people... So, Althanea has nursed a resentment against all of them, particularly the one who was closest to Giles... and happened to survive. And when her help is sought to help Giles and she doesn't give it, the worst of all results is for the 'bad' magician to ride in on a white horse to save the day! Giles didn't choose her. Dawn didn't listen to her. she's irrelevant. Not right, but yes, her rage is very, very 'natural'.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments,

*clapping* Althanea dealt with in such a way that can't be changed *fingers crossed*, Giles is ok & all the good guys are back in the right dimension & a simply beautiful tribute to the late, great Mr. Sachs *sniff* Thank you for another brilliant, fabtastic & awe-inspiring chapter x
Comments from author:
Thank you! takes bow! Yup, Althanea's demagicked for good. Everyone's finally home and I just had to do a little tribute to one of my two favorite 'minor' characters (the other one's Dru). It broke my heart that we lost Robin at 61, but he had more of a life than poor Lorne (Andy Hallett) who died at 33, both from heart failure.

OK, now I'm sad.

Glad you liked my chapter.

Review:
Well, this is a day for celebrating! The Senior Partners destroyed, their influence stopped in so many dimensions, event the PTB can't help but be happy! And Althena? She is GONE! Her Magic destroyed, her power as head of the coven gone, especially once word got out that she was working for the Senior Partners. And Ethan: Getting a job offer from Buffy? This should be a time for Ethan to truly use his knowledge and is ability to use Chaos magic to help out others. Overall, a GREAT day!
Comments from author:
Yeah, the PTBs are seldom happy or unhappy about anything. They just sit there being less than helpful, at least if Cordelia's blinding migraines are anything to go by! Some people are annoying that way! :-) Althanea is so very gone. Sometimes you should just trust people when they tell you they can do something totally outlandish... then again, if she hadn't done what she'd done, the Senior Partners might just have survived! Yup, Ethan... the truth magic has spoken to his brain. It's time to give up his resentments and move forward.

Glad you enjoyed the day!

Review:
I can't make up my mind at this point if you're going to let Althenea survive or not. If she does, then she needs to be bound, at least until she learns a bit of humility (and some of the self-control she preached to Willow in the past). So the early part of the spell seems to be working fine - let's hope Althenea hasn't damaged the connection. Soft foods or not, giving someone tapioca pudding is just plain cruel (I remember it with fond loathing from school...)

Thanks for writing this - I'm looking forward to the next part.
Comments from author:
This means I'm doing something right! Sadly, not everyone is salvageable. One needs to let go of the need to control everyone and everything or the consequences may be utterly brutal.

As for tapioca pudding, I'll stipulate that some of us *really* love it... i think it may have to do with proper preparation. Most things can be ruined in the wrong hands and of course, everyone has unique taste buds. Ask anyone in the marmite/anti-marmite conflict about this! ;-)

Anyway, I think Cordelia and House like Tapioca as much as I do! I hope you'll forgive me that!

Peace,

Review:
Heavy shit once again....though the outcome seems better this time.

Part of me really doesn't want to see Althanea die; she's a witch, a....somewhat good witch who lost her way. She let her own ambition sway her better judgement. She might be a stuck up bitch, but hey, if they could take Darth Willo wand turn her into "White Willow" then maybe she too can be saved.

The other part of me? No, that part too doesn't want her to die....but damn, that part of me also loved to see her get her ass kicked. And by her own Coven too? Bitch got OWNED! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! *laughs*
Comments from author:
Blue cackles evilly... cackles is such a disturbing word! :-)

Very deep shit. Be careful when you interfere with things you don't understand... bad shit happens to those who have no clue when they meddle in the deep doo doo...

Eh, not sure about redemption. You'll see what I mean in the next chapter. Not everyone is salvageable. Yes, the coven took Willow and taught her the true use of magic. pity that the leader of that coven didn't learn her own lessons well enough!

When you mix naked ambition, superstition and rage, you get bad things... you become dangerous... and oddly, mostly a lot of times... that danger is to yourself, though others also get hurt.
