Review:
Yeah, that's Russell Winters alright. He didn't just grab and drain, he liked to play with his victims, stalk them, etc etc. Sounds like he's going to get his a few year early. Too bad in a way, I enjoyed how Angel disposed of him in the series. As it turned out, he couldn't fly. Who knew?
Xander is going to develop a complex if this happens on his next few dates. Anya, here we come! ...
Nice bit with Darla. Not sure she actually volunteered to be a vampire, or rather that she understood what was being "offered"... but she had been embittered by life, definitely. Maybe W&H will still bring her back?
You know... if you ever get up to "The Wish" ep --it'd be interesting if the other world was the one from the tv series--imagine a Buffy from S3 coming into this one--she'd seem very hard & alone to the people in this 'verse, like the one in The Wish...
Comments from author:
I viewed the episode, but I wondered if others perceived him the way I did. Glad I'm not the only one. ( I always wondered about the weak glass though...)

Well, his next major date in canon was Cordelia. I shall set him up with Dru...;-)

I do hope to get up to "The Wish", time wise, though it may never happen. Willow and Xander are not in the same sort of relationship after all. The way I am running through Season 2 opponents, I should race through that... btw, I read a Wishverse story once that involved Buffy accidentally killing Joyce, I forget the title and I'd like to rea read it. Do you have any ideas?

Review of chapter "The sorrows of chasing the Sun" from Eureka
Review:
Good chapter Vid. Kinda sad, but all must die at one time or another. Just wish you could have saved her, but I understand she didn't survive in canon either. Glad they found out about the spell that was still just a tad bit hanging on there, and that hopefully they can find out who/what put it on her. Hopefully we find out that Jack had one put on him too and that it IS O'Neil. PLEASE don't forget to post next Sat.
Comments from author:
Thanks. I may write a story one day in which she is saved. The spell is actually really insidious. I have high hopes of posting on Saturday.

Review of chapter "The sorrows of chasing the Sun" from Meneldur
Review:
This was an excellent chapter. It was highly emotional, yet at the same time managed to wrap up a few threads in a very good way.
The part with Amata was so sad. But I think it was needed, and not just for character growth. It's like 'Help' in season seven, where they discover they can't always save everyone. They needed to know that now, especially when they're fighting such epic battles.
So, Xander and Jenny are cousins, and we'll have to see where that leads. But so far, it seems to be proceeding well.
Amata told Buffy about the Master, and 'forewarned is forewarned', 'knowing is half the battle'. I'd set fire to the sewers and block the entrances, but we'll have to see how they handle it.
Brenda will hopefully get better, though I do wonder how important Russel and the whole thing is. I'm hoping it's not too much of a major issue, and only a small thing, wrapping it up, but who knows?
And, Marigold is going to be gunned for more and more. Also, Arlene actually knows about SG coming for her (though only in the vaguest possible sense). I can't wait to see that, and I hope all the meetings - with Daniel, Jack and Sam happen soon.
Can't wait until next week, Meneldur.
PS Who is Lebannen, that even Willow wants to track her? Same for dark queen.
Comments from author:
Thanks. I felt that Amata could not be saved in her body, not everybody can be saved, not even with their resources, but her soul was set free to move on to its just reward.

Setting fire to the sewers will just lead to gas explosions... ;-)

THe Halliwell's vengeance against Winters will probably be a one shot. Unless they drag others in with them, in which case it may end up in the main story line.

Arlene knows someone is coming to activate her. How she reacts to the precise orders, that is a whole different ballgame.

Lebannen is the hacker who 'outed' Willow by sending mails from her e-mail address to Jenny and Giles, who talked to Joyce. Willow is rather annoyed with her. Witch_queen is the best hacker in the world. Identity unknown. Dark Daemon was Fritz, now deceased. White_knight is Dave.

Thanks and thanks for reviewing

Review of chapter "The sorrows of chasing the Sun" from war
Review:
Good to see Amata get the peace she deserves and she was surrounded by family when she went. Question, with the breaking of the curse does her bloodline lose the wealth and power like the frat did? hope so.

So at least they have new targets(Winters and whoever sent the mercs) to take out their sorrow on. Getting payback makes for great comfort food.

So maybe the reason Jack left was a spell? That makes more sense now considering the kind of man he is. But if so they really need to get in touch with him and let him know he has a daughter.

Good story looking forward to your next chapter.
Comments from author:
Yes, at least she has peace. Your question will be answered in the next chapter.

Penny Halliwell is out for blood. Winters already tangled with her once, and is not going to be pleased to have to do so again...

Review:
@borgrabbit and vidicon:

Sorry for being pedantic, but as a matter of interest, "Get of the Unicorn" can be a grammatical phrase with a proper meaning, if "Get" is used in its other meaning of "offspring".

I'm not saying that was the actual, intended title, of course. :-)

Meanwhile, another great, if sad, chapter, vidicon! This continues to be one of my favourite stories.

By the way, who is Gabriel Meier? Have we encountered this character before or is this one of the things you'll be revealing in the next chapter?
Comments from author:
Heh. I'm aware of the meaning though I admit that it had not occured to me to read it in that way. That may be due to knowing the contents of the book.

Thank you, glad you are enjoying it. Great Uncle Gabriel (Gabriel Alexander Fillmore Meier) was the younger son and left for the West under a slight cloud for his perversions with lower class girls (Primarily red headed Irish...) and built Hooghwater and bought the Manapoint, several years before the Mayor arrived in Sunnydale. He also collected the greatest library of pornographica in the western hemisphere and liked naughty statues a lot. He died of pneumonia and consumption or booze and the Clap, depending who you ask. Most of this information can be found in chapter nine, the rest is scattered.

Review of chapter "The sorrows of chasing the Sun" from EllandrahSylver
Review:
This chapter is heartbreaking. I'm sorry Amata had to die, but realistically, there was no other way for the chapter to end. I'm glad they managed to set her free, but poor Xander is really taking a battering right now. Both his biological parents and his first real love all die seemingly at once. It's a very good thing that he's got Joyce and Simon, and the girls, to support him.

The developing romance between Clarice and Patrick is cute, and I like the Hill Cabin/Raven's Roost bit. Your remapping of Sunnydale is entertaining. Or maybe it's just fleshing it out, considering that the show was mostly The Bronze, the school, Buffy's house, Willy's, cemeteries, and warehouses. Well, and Angel's two residences. For a town of (supposedly) between 38,000 and 43,000 people, depending on what resource you're using, that's just not enough settings, but it was a television show, so their stage space was limited.

Somehow, I don't think Winters is going to be around for another two and a half years, so Cordy will be safe from HIM at least. *smirks* Poor Bren. And yes, there was a reason Lindsey asked Winters if Cordelia was going to be one of his 'long-term projects'. Breaking down young Hollywood hopefuls was a form of entertainment for him.
Comments from author:
It is rather sad, yes. Xander is indeed emotionally in a roller coaster.

You can't have a town that is just those places, though I never found the actual size of Sunnydale. I tend to go with Santa Barbara as the location, with no Santa Barbara in my AU.

I doubt it too. Winters will feel the wrath of Grams, Brenda's parents will get a talking to, and Winters' reputation will be ground into the dust.

Lovely chapter, as I've come to expect from you! I always look forward to Saturdays for a new chapter.

One question from this chapter, though --

With the new information on the spell that was placed on Arlene - and possibly Jack as well - any possibility that her Jack's last name was O'Neill? ;))
Comments from author:
Thank you. Jack knows Arlene, and the relationship is hinted at in Children of a Greater God.

Thanks and thanks for reviewing

Edit: I meant chapter 48 of Lonely Souls...

Review:
A sad chapter, but you can't save everyone. At least Sun-Chaser's soul is now free. It will be interesting to see if Harris and Prichett are still around after the curse-breaking, or if they need additional measures.

Interesting gift for Clarice to have.

Russell Winters was definitely a creep and would want to make anyone who dared report him suffer. It will be interesting to see how that storyline plays out. I'm guessing the drug Brenda was given was mystical, though I've seen a couple non-mystical TV shows that used the premise of a drug that causes "compliance"...
Comments from author:
Yes, I tried to find a way but just could not come up with one. Maybe in another story... The fate of Harris and Pritchett will be dealt with in 63.

Yeah, Letomo suggested it and it actually makes good sense with the character in mind, the way she connects to people.

I thought creep and Winters came up. No drugs that I know of have that sort of result, outside of fiction, it is actually a mix of Thrall and magic.

Review:
Not trying to offend, but Anne McCaffrey's publisher screwed up the naming of a book, "Get of the Dragon", and sold few copies, until years later when it was reprinted as "Get Off the Dragon".
A really great story, though!

1. ‘Of’ is mostly used as a preposition, and therefore, should be used when a preposition is needed. ‘Off’ is usually used as an adverb, and should be used in cases where an adverb is needed.
2. ‘Of’ is more often used in sentences, while ‘off’ is used less frequently.
3. ‘Off’ is used in conjunction with verbs, which is not the case with ‘of’.

Edit:> OOPS! "Get Off the Unicorn". Been too many years since I read her stories. Still, it's a shame that McCaffrey et al take such a dim view of fanfiction. You're doing pretty damn good if English isn't your 'birth' language.
Ciao.

Comments from author:
I thought it was called Get off the unicorn? Otherwise I need to buy another McCaffrey. (May she rest in peace by the way.) But you are quite right, I do have an on-off problem with of/off. ;-)

It is a common problem with those not born to the English language I fear.

Glad you still like the story, thanks for reviewing.
