Review of chapter "When Xander Woke Up" from Downery
Review:
Yea.. stopped reading after Xander couldn't remember a 4-some. Every damn story that involves drinking and waking up with wome(a)n has unable to remember and i always call bullshit. Sometimes i forget what i did when i was really really really drunk a few weeks afterwards but i do remember most of it when i wake up the next morning. That entire drunk blackout cliche is over used and idiotic. Drunks have blackouts after drinking for years, regular people usually remember unless they go unconscious or just pretend not to remmeber. Also adrenaline makes you sober. I've been drunk as a skunk and sober after a round of sex with my girlfriend. Ditto with having the place i was in raided for selling liquor after 2am and other things that got my heart pumping. If sex with 3 women isn't enough adrenaline and excitement to knock you sober then nothing is.

...someone obviously never read the challenge behind the story. I'm just working with what I'm given but if you really wanna be so narrow-minded as to gig me for that, feel free. Probably wanna make sure to ignore the other 50-odd responses scattered around the site too.

Hmmm.. this is a hard one. Firstly, the artwork is well made and gives that extra candy for the eyes. The story was jumpy in the beginning, but slowed down in the current chapters. Shame you didn't do more with drunken night in Vegas. How about giving Xander something ''heroic'' to do ? Can't wait to read more.
Comments from author:
Well first of all, the challenge is a story that takes up after the night in Vegas. You don't do the night in Vegas. Ever. Secondly... I'm not sure when the last time you watched the show was, but Xander was rarely "heroic" and especially in a world where his girlfriends throw down with alien invasions and guys who can blow up cars by pointing their hand at them or grow to giant sizes or stuff like that? He's more outclassed than he is against vampires and demons.

I think this is one of the pieces that was in Trigamy 2.0 (the '09 version that never got uploaded) because it was salvaged from a working file but nobody remembers reading it...

After that last burn MJ came out with at the end of the chapter, I figure the odds of her being the contributor for "Pants..." is about 75%, but as nurture has a lot to do with it as well, I suppose it's down to how she took in her "upbringing" and who was most responsible for Auntie Flow.
(I pologise profusely for the bluntness, there, but as you have everyone around being blunt about periods (including Bekah) I felt it almost safe to do.
Comments from author:
I would personally put my money on MJ. After all, she's whipped out a pistol and made Norman Osborn back down when in full Green Goblin mania. That chick is scary as shit.

Well, this was fun. L'xi and Tommy - hilarious, but... blech. On the other hand, in Ultimate Avengers, Pietro and Wanda were together. And in Runaways, it was implied the Yorkes were also mother and son or something, so maybe there is a certain percentage of Super-people who have incestuous tendencies? Oh, poor Xander. Having to deal with the perils and annoyances of daily life. Still, I'd do that any day if it gets me three girls like Bekah, Cassie and Kate, especially if they don't mind being together. The robbers were so screwed, but their debate and arguments were quite funny. Loved the 'costume party'. Great jokes and banter, though no true info on serious stuff, except costume changes. Wonder how often Emma is insulted in these things. Let's hope it happens more when she's actually there, because that would probably lead to even better insults and banter. MJ got the last word, and that was probably the best part of the chapter, so kudos on that, and can't wait to see where it goes from here, especially as we haven't even started on Dawn and her problems. 'Till then.
Comments from author:
With the Runaways, you're thinking of the Hayes (Molly's parents) and they're brother and sister also. Molly being a 'pureblood' mutant is speculated as being why she manifests such impressive powers at such a young age.
And there is some information on serious stuff snuck in between the jokes and such if you look. Like that this world's Janet already has one doctoral degree and is working on a second, as opposed to Janet of 616 canon who had... Lord only knows what. She's also involved in some sort of project that has to do with wasps and people.

Schnapps and Orange juice out the nose frakking hurts. Or at least Vodka and Orange juice does. Clears the sinuses something quick though.
I hope those robbers have earned the errors of their ways. That first robber definitely should have. I have a cousin in the hospital industry who has seen the damage done by such an impact. The guy lost one of his, er, you-knows, because it basically burst. He had to walk with a cane for months.

I learned don't mess with PMS very early in life. *eyes mother*

Well, hot damn, we all learned a valuable lesson today. Don't mess with the PMS, seriously. As to the whole chapter itself, rather nice, gives a bit more to work with in terms of what everybody is doing in their daily life, and another face in Cleveland. Not too much to say for this one, cept keep up the good work.
Comments from author:
We're going to see more slices of daily life as we round out Part 3 with Chapters 24 and 25; they're not Xander-centric so people probably won't review them. Things will pick up more with Chapter 26 and the events of Halloween.

Review of chapter "Things That Go Splat in the Night" from msdarque
Review:
Poor girls... I haven't exactly though about it, but they must basically be almost constantly hungry. It's a good solution that Sarah came up with and I'm sure quite a lot of the Slayers would agree.... as we already saw. :) Great, informative chapter. Congrats!
Comments from author:
It's also my way of explaining the terminally scrawny Sarah Michelle Gellar and the fact that neither Bianca Lawson nor Eliza Dushku really had much in the way of extra weight either. I mean obviously the activity would keep them streamlined, but all three were below healthy weight, with SMG drastically so.

This one made me hungry.
So Poison Ivy a-like, local dimensiomal version, Dimensionally displaced DC bad girl going good or just superhuman fangirl of the comic character with simular enough powers to get away with dressing like her?
No but really, they have the technology, let them clone Jarvis.
Comments from author:
Actually, we've already met her back in Chapter 17. That's why the note mentions that the art is being slotted in there; I just tucked it in as a present at the end of this chapter too so people know it exists. :)
...actually, she debuts in Chapter 11 but not by name or in this appearance...

Review:
Sarah's going to become She Who Must Be Placated At All Costs Lest We Return To Starving Again real fast! Figure that when the patrolling slayers get the word, she's going to be getting even more cash.
What I wonder is, just why hasn't this situation been seen and dealt with long before? Or have they been going full tilt since they got there and just didn't have it high enough on the priority list? /Course, that does fit in with Xander needing a vacation so desperately...
And why /do/ they have a salad drying machine, anyway?
Comments from author:
Well, if you think about it... whose job is it anyways? Xander's running the entire facility and it's been hinted that he's the one with oversight responsibilities for North America as a whole. Faith manages the Slayers, their training, and patrols. Dawn's in the library when she's not sulking over Xander's life. The Watchers and witches are there for specific reasons. Everyone probably thought it was someone else's problem because they were busy, and so it just never got done.
As for the salad drying machine... ever buy bagged salad? And after you open it, it's good for 2-3 days before it starts getting wilted and icky? You need to wash fresh lettuce for safety's sake, but leaving it wet leads to premature wilting, mushiness, and ultimately loss of some of your purchase when you can't use it fast enough. So they actually make an appliance to solve that problem for people who are handling large amounts of salad. Some are hand-driven for if you only do a few gallons at a time, and then there's the twenty gallon size for buffets, hospitals, and schools.

Review:
Not going to lie, was hilarious to read the idea of a houseful of probably rather attractive girls eating like frat boys. Lol'd myself into a ball. Anyhow, as for the picture, I'm guessing the next story involves Pamela Isley, otherwise known as Poison Ivy?
Comments from author:
Well, that's the lil Skrull girl that Xavin and 'Jenny' met earlier. She'll feature more in the future, hence Lexi drawing her. And the sketch is of Faith with the Claw Shield and Sword of Omens.

Review:
Very true. It brings to mind points made in a few fics from others in addition to you.
If the slayers get used to someone more powerful than them doing the job, how would they be able to handle things if they were without that help.
Personally.. imagination/fic-wise. If it was just the slayers... start figuring out how to have exploding crossbolts or arrows. Test and see if one can blow off the creatures head from inside the mouth. Either by shooting into it or shoving.
Comments from author:
Well, Kate's going to be a big influence on the girls because she does fight the way they do... sort of. And with her retiring as Hawkeye, they have less of a "we're her Mini-Mes" vibe and so it's easier for them to accept the help and toys. :)
