#4: Giles is SO going to get his ass kicked. Then whine him into catatonia. And then she'll get NASTY.
Are those real requirements for UN Translators? Frigging FRENCH? (Anyway Dawn could probably learn EVERY SINGLE ONE of those languages in a cinematically short time.)
Comments from author:
Yes, they're real. It's not just knowing the languages - you have to have lived in countries that use them. Also, there are security requirements that are even more stringent than for NCIS, so her weird history and association with known criminals would be just as problematic as for that job.

I don't think so - this one was mainly metafiction, pointing out some of the problems with some aspects of other stories, I don't want to labour the point.

Oh, man, that last one made me laugh right out loud! Oooh, is Buffy ever going to be pissed! I also have to wonder what's going to happen when Dawn changes back....
It takes a good reason for me to read a Dawn centered fic. Your summery (and to be fair, the story length) seemed like good reasons. I was glad not to regret it. In part, because there really wasn't too much Dawn for my tastes, and it part because this trope is something that a lot of good writers (and some other writers like myself) fall into because of how easy it is to start a story with this. I loved the way you gently poked fun at the flaw and turned out an interesting little ficlit.

Thanks - I'm occasionally involved in recruiting technical staff, the amount of red tape in something like that is bad enough - you can imagine how hard it would be for any of the jobs I listed.
Heh, that was fantastic. It really does bother me when jobs are handed to the Scoobies even though they have little to no qualifications, thanks for writing this! Also Dawn getting rejected from the council was priceless. XD
