Review of chapter "Interlude: Sam Zabuto, Kendra, and Spike" from Chargone
Review:
Interesting story so far.

I think you mean Silent Bob deals with intra-court squabbles, rather than inter-court... unless there's another court they're interacting with? Inter means between (usually from one to another. Intercity, interstate, etc.) While Intra means within/inside (intravenous is the first example to come to mind... 'inside the vein' as i understand it. Also 'intranet' For a company or building's internal network (usually just called 'the network', admitedly), contrast 'internet', which connects such to each other.

But yeah, a good read so far. Keep it up!
Comments from author:
Whoops, yeah, that's what I meant. Thanks for catching that. Glad you're enjoying the fic so far.

Review of chapter "Interlude: Sam Zabuto, Kendra, and Spike" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Sam and Kendra may think they're coming to Sunnydale on some kind of 'rescue' mission, to clean up the mess Buffy and Giles and their group have presumably made of the mission, but it seems like they may just get in the way, between Buffy's and Spike's separate efforts to keep things quiet and controlled on the Hellmouth.

Glad to see a new chapter of this, as always! :)

Review:
Nice update.

Sam Zabuto and Kendra example everything that is wrong with the current Watchers Council and its massively flawed attitudes. Given she's indoctrinated to the Council's way of doing things from childhood - and probably stolen from whoever her real parents were as the Council are bastard enough to do that if a child is a potential - its no wonder Kendra (and other Slayers like her) don't last more than a year at the most. Because they fight alone and vampires don't fight fair and love ganging up on the Slayer if she becomes more than a nuisance to the local Master Vampire. Unlike Buffy whose so sucessful because she has not just her Watcher but a proper support mechanism in place, a team that has her back and who (in the case of Xander for example) will get on her case when she's an idiot about things.

It will be interesting to see what happens when they meet the Scoobies. Maybe Kendra will get in over her head tangling with Spike and Buffy and co have to save her ass. Then Giles could go to Sam 'this is why I let Buffy have friends to support her, if they hadn't intervened when they did you would be without your Slayer now Mr Zabuto.'.

Comments from author:
The scary and unfortunate part of your idea is that Zabuto, being a properly indoctrinated Watcher, would assume it was Kendra's fault for dying - she didn't listen closely enough/work hard enough and therefore failed. And he would not grieve. Better that she die so a better-trained Slayer has a shot at it.

Review of chapter "New Horizons Approaching" from KazeMidori
Review:
It just struck me that Anya, while appearing to be a teenager, is actually a few millennia old. Granted, though she is that old, she appears to have been stuck with the same basic mindset of a teenager, but, well, Jon wouldn't have to worry about being older then her.... I am so bad. This is not my first time through, that is my only comfort! Or even my second.

Review:
Nice story. Like how Jon (aka mini-Jack) is making use of his own training and experience to help Buffy and the Scoobies learn how to do things a bit less "fly by the seat of the pants"; even if Jack had a tendency to do so himself from time to time.

Great end to the Machida episode!
Nice seeing Buffy understanding the value of teamwork.
Nice seeing Cordy being more helpful.

All in all a great chapter!

Tom.

I love how you're following the episodes, but making enough changes (all reasonable and well written I might add) to ensure your story doesn't read like another boring rewrite. Thanks for sharing.
Comments from author:
I'm glad it's working. Things will change more and more drastically the further we get from the end of Season 1 of Buffy. To the point where I may eliminate certain episodes entirely, on the strength of 'yeah, that? Wouldn't happen with this bunch' and substitute something else.

Siccing both Willow AND Carter on the bad frat guys? Heh-heh. Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of murderous, misogynistic, over-privileged, would-be future titans of industry and finance. :)

Review:
Very nice chapter here.

And Willow can be a very, *very* nasty uber-bitch-on-steroids hacker type when she puts her mind to it. If you're going to add in Carter helping her, these bastards are going to wish they had been arrested. ;-)
Comments from author:
Exactly. And given that, in canon, Willow evidently sicced *someone* on them to result in the entire frat shutting down in disgrace ... she probably actually did this anyway in canon. *grin*

I discovered that Wal-Mart carries Gerber machettes.

http://www.walmart.com/c/kp/gerber-machetes

They have several different types, including Kukri, Bolo, and Parang.
Comments from author:
Ok, that is ... awesome, yet slightly alarming. And possibly not true of every Wal-Mart, 'cause I have never seen anything like that at my local (though they could probably ship it in).
