No, I haven't given up on this, but my muse found something more interesting to do while I was in the middle of writing the next chapter, so I'm currently stuck there at the moment.
Well, I'm tracking this to see where you take it -- at least partly because you're one of the few people writing fanfic today who knows that the correct phrase is "intents and purposes" rather than "intensive purposes."

I also feel the need to admit that my wife was an English literature major in college, so I have no doubt about my ability to phrase my thoughts correctly, since she would undoubtedly wallop me if I wrote something so obviously wrong. ;-)
Interesting premise, Buffy isn't the Slayer anymore so the powers, once suppressed by the Cruciamentum serum, stayed gone because Buffy no longer had the Slayer essence to reactivate them. Kinda figured after all her bitching in the series about having to be the Slayer, once the powers were gone, she'd want them back. Keep it coming, I can see many funny incidents to come.

Hmm, I would have to say it would be a tossup whether Buffy would eventually be happy about this or not. She did spend all that time wishing she was a normal girl after all.

Yeah, it seemed like she was talking out of both sides of her mouth at times, but I put that down to Joss just screwing up characterization again.
In this story, Buffy'll have valid reasons fro what she does or doesn't do.

Interesting concept. One I hope you'll continue to explore, especially since the repercussions of Buffy not being a Slayer are going to be rather profound. Not to mention, if Faith is still alive, is Dawnie *her* sister? I really hope we'll get more of this story.

Well that should make Bitchy, I mean, Buffy, happy, she was always whining about how being the Slayer interfered with her life, so she can go and live the rest of her life as a non-entity, and make the rest of us happy! (sorry, it was Season Three where I really started disliking the bottle blonde!) *GRIN*

Ya know when I read unforeseen consequences I almost thought it was a Half-Life cross but Considering what she seems to be going after well ^_~ I mean can you imagine what kind of conversations Buffy would have with the G-MAN and if Xander ever meet him I'd doubt he would continue to call Giles by that nickname.

I'm really curious about what happened inbetween the two time periods and hope when you update you explain.
Did buffy become all researchy herself. How did the gang react to powerless Buffy. Did Faith stay on the track when she was the only slayer.

There's a good bit more of this story that will be seen in upcoming chapters, so you'll see what happened to Buffy, how the Scoobies reacted to this unexpected event, and how it changed what would have been canon.
