Glad to see Willow make the effort. There's a lot of patching up of relationships needed. And how sad is it that she's broke? Saved the world on multiple occasions, and renting a car to meet the president will be the last of her money.
It's also weird to think the Initiative in some form has been around since at least 1943 (Angel getting recruited at that time in "Why We Fight" episode).
She definitely should get a budget from the gov. Very interesting that Willow couldn't sense her, but could sense Faith.
The SGC will be very skeptical of her when she shows up -she doesn't look at all impressive, never finished college, all that.
Hm. Full briefing. Maybe outside the scope of the story but the Pres. would also likely be informed of Angel's group in LA...

Yes I was thinking about the Initiative being so old since I re-watched the Angel episode, but it was actually a branch of the gov about the supernatural so I was thinking of linking the NID with it for now and the initiative being some sort of experimental rogue branch. I read this a few times and liked it. Because the NID is as secret as the SGC and even the President cannot shut it down at first, so maybe it is because it was instated for more the fifty years. But i am not sure yet how I am gonna put it.

The SGC will be really skeptical yes most likely, but I think she knows what she is talking about, she is really intelligent and can help bring down the NID. What will the president know will depend on what Riley has told him and what Buffy will say. I doubt that he will know of the LA group because Riley briefed him about Buffy and her group only. Besides I think the acquisition of Wolfram and Hart by Angel and his attempt at infiltrating the circle of black thorns will be likely to happen if the President know that Angel is a fighter of the light. The law firm has surely the mean to know these sort of thing even if it is a need to know thing lol.

Glad to see Willow has also expressed her regret for how things went back in Sunnydale. It looks like it is the start of healing their relationship. I hope Xander can do the same before Buffy leaves for New York, otherwise it might not be good for the mini slayers with him in a bad mood. Faith and Andrew would find it hard to take up the slack in training the minis by themselves!
I have seen many stories that assume Buffy has some kind of authority over all law enforcement branches but I don't think I have ever read a story where she actually discusses this with the President. I look forward to reading your take on this.

I thought since SGC has a close relationship with the president, why not the supernatural world. He knows every details of their offworld reports and all... I am not saying it is going to be same, no.

Cool start. It is not surprising that Buffy is a bit sad and needing a break at this time. She has just lost a bunch of mini slayers and also the only person who stood by her over the past few days. I'm glad she has reached out to Dawn though, family is important. We didn't hear from Willow in this chapter, I wonder what she thinks of the situation after having the Scythe's magic flow through her?
And poor Riley, arriving too late again :)

Lol chapter 2! And we'll see the changes in Buffy and Willow in chapter 4 mostly. I think that those changes will go unnoticed while they confront each other. They are too preoccupied.

That's how I see it. And I don't want to rush into giving them a lot of powers at once. It should be a slow process.

Your story definitely has potential. Not too many stories with Buffy wanting to take off immediately after the collapse of Sunnydale, so I can see some interesting conversations happening. However, it does need a bit of fleshing out character wise. Also, over use of exclamation points! One is fine, multiple makes it hard to take the story seriously. Interesting start so far, would like to see where you take this.

Something needed to be said, they all pretended the big breakup never happened once she came back with the Scythe. But it did. They all need some time off, her particularly. So maybe Riley is going to try to bring her into the SGC? Or maybe the Asgard know about slayers?

I think that they pretended there were no problems because of the urgency of the situation but Buffy has not yet said every thing she has to say. It is still to come. And as for SGC, yes Riley is going to inform her of SGC and the NID...

Even though I'm not a fan of Riley's, having him there helps ease into the Stargate part a bit easier. Soooo...were you not sure of how to write Willow's response or was she just smart enough to keep her mouth shut after Giles gave his blessing?

I am not a fan of Riley either but I think he plays an important part in what happens next with SG1. Ans Yes, Willow was interrupted by Giles.

The reaction of the rest of the Scooby's is more detailed in chapter 2 and 3!
