Review:
So, was that the beginning of the secret invasion or mind control? If it was the beginning of the secret invasion, it's somewhat different, of course. But mind control... It would need to be very powerful to take over all those X-men and use them properly, including such powerful telepaths as Emma Frost and mutants who have some immunity to mind control (Emma in her Diamond form, Wolverine, etc.). Too bad Ares is out of it. Still, his giving Nectar to Faith apparently helped. And did we just see Willow casting a spell? Becuase that certainly seems to be the way Faith got the password. That gives me hope. Faith's the gun, but Willow is the one who knows who to shoot at. And they need to know that.

Oh god! Now I'm dying to know what happened. I really hope Tony isn't dead, cause that would totally suck. Kudos for bringing in Spider-Man. I love the idea of him later hanging out with Faith. ;D

Review:
Glass is actually fluid if I remember correctly. It does flow but so slowly that it is not noticable for years as the glass on the bottom of the window or whatever piece of glass you have gets thicker. Fluids and liquids are not the same thing as you know from your last line.Semi useless science trivia over. :)
Comments from author:
If you start getting picky at the physics from chapter 8, then I'm really in for it when I post chapter 9 in a few minutes. :)

Review:
Disappointed but not entirely surprised at the behavior of Faith. Really confused at the season one-ish attitude and generally blowing off her rescuers of Buffy. And disgusting behavior of Ares... what the heck was in that bottle that allowed a mere Slayer to kick the stuffing out of a very deserving Marvel War God? And is he really anything like that in the comic books? Because if so, I am totally creeped out now. Ew. Just ew. Still, looking forward to find out what's going on!
Comments from author:
Will comment more on Ch. 8 Buffy behavior after people have a chance to digest Ch. 9...
Re: Ares. He's certainly portrayed as an antihero, but I've always considered him one of the more entertaining ones. My reading from the comics is that he's very much the living embodiment of war, with everything both horrible and glorious that entails. Given the war atrocities he's probably participated in, I guessed what he did to Faith is small fries (from his POV).
Re: The bottle was Ambrosia, the drink of the Greek Gods. We'll have to see what kind of effect it has on a Slayer.

Somebody definitely messed with Buffy's brain, post season 7 she is not. She was way too casual about things as a front in the first seasons and she may be playing to nut cases on her side of the line. I'll wait and see if the spinning lights and the klaxons warn me of Buffy character diminishing. Spot on with Faith though, she is a stranger in bizarro 'verse and these people are crazy! Bottles full of god hood, cripes!

Just letting you know I'm still here and reading, even if I'm waiting for something more noteworthy to express in a larger review. Cuz I know I like getting "Yeah, I read" reviews too. Just so you know people are out there.

Review of chapter "Faith, Chapter 8" from AllenPitt
Review:
Faith should trust her instincts more. Ares is not a good guy. At best, he thought he was helping her realize her potential, but yeah, was taking advantage of it, too. She is right that he'd never ever admit to being beat up a girl (a non-immortal at that). Super fight? Yep, that's close to 100%. My bet is the X-Men have been subverted by some evil guy & will attack. Good thing Faith has a power up and the scythe and the shield. Come to think of it, the fact that CA gave her that shield is a bad sign (that she'll need it a lot). Donuts? Poor Faith, went through all that and Buffy was all "I'm fine, why do you ask?" ouch. At least they're searching for Willow now. I don't buy that B. escaped from her captors that easily... A super team fight, and on a helicarrier? I sure hope Shield is insured.
Comments from author:
I didn't intend it, but in hind-site I think Faith's initial trust/not-trust instincts have been pretty reliably wrong. Also, I don't think there's any insurance company crazy enough to extend coverage to SHIELD.

Review:
Heh, with Sinister involved, I'm going with the still-unidentified attackers as Vertigo, Riptide, Scalphunter, and maybe on Bockbuster and Lady Mastermind.
As for Faith's bad feeling about how easily she found Buffy, I'm going with YASC--Yet Another Summers Clone.

I am really curious about Willow. And I think you did very nicely on Reed's technobabble. I loved the Planck constant as home address!
TY for this chapter!
