The smart thing for Giles to do would be to immediately get on the phone and get the Council lawyers involved. It's not like it would be suspicious since she's a major player in a powerful organization. Even if they played it as just her being high up in a school board, there would still be reasons to get her a lawyer asap. I look forward to more.

Great start! I looked at the summary and thought "How are they going to sell that idea?" But you have done really well. Was it the watcher's council that stole the kids or someone else? I can't wait till they find out their family relationship!

OK, I can understand its need as a plot point but it wouldn't matter where he was from or stationed, the NCIS branch local to the crime would still be in charge. They may ask for assistance with getting interviews and information from where he's from, but it would still be their case (like cops from LA calling Dallas to ask another cop to interview someone for them, Dallas doesn't join the case, just helps). Anyway, curious about how you'll work this and I'm assuming that you moved the Buffy timeline up since she was born in '81.

Although, the only nit-pick I have with this is the fact that I would have thought that Kelly would have been the one to stay home- since she was sick- and the other two would be with their grandma, because that would make more sense. Mom takes care of the sick one, while grandma babysits the healthy ones. *shrugs* I guess it doesn't really matter, since this is your story and you know where your vision of this will take it.
