Review of chapter "A new Ship..." from michaelangelo

Hah! haven't played D&D in oooh must be 25 years now. I do remember how useful a Decanter of endless water was, especially on a ship, the three best uses being sustenance, ship defense and emergency propulsion.

While it's a decently written D&D story, it almost seems like Xander is an after thought. I'm getting the vibe that you have your own character and after playing, you just toss Xander into the same spot without too much reworking. It's not done badly; it just seems like it would be smoother as a D&D non-crossover.

aah, No... not true, but if you think you could pull it off better Please feel free to write your own version. I would love to see what you come up with.

Good call on the ship over the loot, while the loot is easier to sell, the ship is worth more money overall... plus you know, easy transportation.
On feed items, I usually go with an Everful Mug and the matching Everlasting Rations if money is tight, but the refilling skein and 'spoon o' gruel' works too. Of course my favorite is a Ring of Sustenance, 2.5k and you don't need to eat or drink, and can get a night's rest in 2 hours.
Shame he didn't have the 2k for a Field Provisions Box, that'd feed and water the party, the party's familiars, and the Cohort of minions in one item.
Comments from author:
actually the loot and reward from the Pirates camp came out to slightly more than the value of the boat, but it was decided that we needed transportation more than we needed money... there are a lot of different options for keeping the crew and party fed, but with the limited funds and lack of actual material in the shop this was what he managed... and yes the Pro-box is always useful to have on hand... but at the moment he barely has to copper to rub together.

why do I picture Xander walking down the street dressed as Jack Sparrow now
Comments from author:
not quite as bedecked with nick-nacks... he is actually closer to captain Jack Aubry's uniform from Master and Commander, but in Red not Blue... and less tassel's, any added 'Flair' may come later on...

This is getting interesting. Sailor profession huh? I had kinda thought Xander and been reclassed as something like a pirate subclass of rogue. Keep up the good work.
Comments from author:
Nope, but he does manage to pick up some swashbuckler classes...

Excellent story. I just found this today, and am enjoying greatly. Brings back memories of playing D&D way back when, and yes the damn sahaugin suck. I can remember loosing more than a few characters to them at the low lvl. :) Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing where you go with this.
