There was a hole in the school again, and by that, Power Girl figured that it was probably Tuesday. Which is nice that I am reading this on a Tuesday.
I do like how this came out. I haven't actually read the canonical version which I can see would have been perhaps one of the greater tragedies ever. There are somethings that shouldn't be done, and that what was done to the sisters and their sisters is one of them. I'm glad you allowed even this small bit of change. Out of curiosity, do kryptonians really heal that fast in sunlight? I would have imagined that trauma from before their powers returned wouldn't immediately be fixed just because they did. Otherwise you would hear more about superman not only being fast strong indestructible with heat vision and freeze breath but also as a regenerator.
Comments from author:
It varies somewhat from writer to writer, but in general, the Kryptonian healing factor is stupidly good unless it's actively being impeded by something (such as kryptonite).

Complex plot. How long was "Karen" in the season 8 comic mixed with Marvel?

I get the feeling that, sooner or later, the Pheonix is going to be public enemy number one.
It managed to become the most feared entity in Shi'ar space, and the little bitch seems determined to sic every surviving hero on Earth onto itself as well.

Actually, I think the time line for the X-men was behind by a year or longer because of late delivery by the creative types. Picking a date and sticking with it, is cool. I guess I don't connect very well with the Marvel mutant types, because my sense is that Karen/Xandra would be better off in the DC universe with Kara.

Interesting, and the Cuckoo's didn't have their hearts turned to diamond. It just came to me though that by the time of the loss of Deadalus V when the Galactus weapon is used, Nova returns to Earth to send a message, but now maybe he can get some help, though honestly? I wouldn't want for him to loose his AND THIS IS FOR THE NOVA CORPS moment. Still, a great chapter overall. And now +2 Cuckoos. I can only imagine the shinanigans until they learn how to live.
I hadn't read this story so it was all new to me. Thanks! Hm, I wonder if there will be any repercussions to this from various human governments. Then again an attack on US soil launched from the UK, that's not going to go over well. Where the heck did this guy get his funding? That's billions in cost to build, looks like. And hey, 2 new 'sisters' to add in, not bad. So... Kara is working up towards heading to DC-verse? Not happy with the way things have changed (yet again)? Sounds to me like super speed is one of their best powers, and they don't use it often enough. And, while revealing her weakness was noble, not a good idea. Maybe.

That was epic! Just the kind of conflict that would need two Supergirls to be part of. Wow!

Oh man...Phoenix Warsong! Poor Celeste, have to say she was my favorite Cuckoo. About Kimura? I was expecting a bigger beatdown then bashing her three times with a large piece of concrete. T'would have been funnier. And about the Alternate Universe where Karen was? This new chapter gave me a 'What?', I'm really confused right now.
Comments from author:
The alternate universe is the noodle incident. That's all it was ever supposed to be. But... yeah, you're not alone in your confusion, and that's a sure sign that the joke didn't actually work.

Review:
Poor Karen, learning all the potential hurdles… but heat vision, yes that’s a very good warning. Yikes! Oh to have been a fly on the wall when the Captain was harassing Tony for being a cold blooded guy. Sadly while it may be incorrect to call it a concentration camp, given it's not specifically designed for the same ultimate purpose the US does have a history with internment camps, for the Japanese citizens during world war II. I am looking forward to what will come next. Oh, and no one should be cocky about 'invulnerability' when faced with a kryptonian. They could just shake you at super speed until your insides go to mush, or throw you into orbit, or any number of other unpleasant things that could be done to make your life unhappy. Even if your 'invulnerable' within your orifices who wants rebar ramed down your throat with super strength so that it gets all bendy and twisty and stuch in your stomach and coming out your nose. Now you can't eat, move your head or neck, and who can get it out before you starve as no surgical procedure is likely to work. The only answer might be heating you up, dropping you in a smelter and letting you try to either cough it all up, or 'digest' it in molten form. So for all you invulnerable people out there, remember, with a properly motivated super being on your case you can have just as bad a day or worse as regular folks.
Comments from author:
re: invulnerable disadvantages
You are correct. However, many of the options you have described would require a level of viciousness that I'm not sure that Karen actually has it in her to reach for. O_O

It's back, it's back, it's finally back, hooray and hurrah! :D Why yes, this is one of my very most favorite ongoing stories, and your updates have been greatly missed. Loved this chapter very much, just took a bit to remember what has gone on before so all the plot threads and details made sense. Kudos on not forgetting or glossing over Peter and Mary-Jane, and the fact that healers exist, and I may have giggled at Mr Stark getting taken down a few pegs for his scheming attempts. With people not letting him get away with stupid command decisions in this new timeline, maybe this poor world won't have to suffer through the highly contrived Civil War storyline after all? Hope springs eternal! And sadistic child-torturer Kimura getting pounded and captured made me a very happy reader. There may have been squeeing. Keep up the good work, and thank you so much for writing!
