Nice start looks to be semi new at the least and if you stick with your posted rules it should go fairly well w/o a big bomb showing up killing your plot.

Thanks, and what I've got written has kept pretty closely to my rules, even if I skirt pretty close to a few at times.

This was excellent! New twist in the stories; liked the slow change of Harry's attitude as time passed. Him finding the re creationists and their activities is new, hope to see more on this ASAP and your Muses provide.
One of the things that did occur to me is that with Hermione's new attitude, she's going to be a major target for Umbridge fast - and I wouldn't doubt that a pre arranged attack leaving her raped, broken, and partially mind wiped would be one of the first things occurring to the scum bags. And with Dumbledore's typical, gutless behavior, nothing would be done to even investigate the attack. HOPING that she and a bunch of others - even some teachers ought to be sick of the crap by now!! - have the brains to move n packs, ready for attacks...
Also wondering about the further consequences of Harry's economic warfare. Seems to me that a lot of the Pureblood wealth has come from the shops, whether as part of an investment, coersion, or whatever, so they should start to feel th bite fairly soon after school starts - say, around Christmas or so...
Comments from author:
I'm glad you liked it. Hermione will start butting heads with the Toad, but it won't be as bad as you say. Umbridge is going to feel more arrogant since they just "won" against Harry, so she won't resort to such a thing. Besides such a thing could be traced back to her, so she'd be cruel in other ways.
I'm doing Dumbledore a bit different from how many have portrayed him. I hope people like him.
Random closings might just shake Diagon Alley up just enough to get things going.

It's interesting. I think that it was a shame the Knights were against Buffy, since they could have made good allies. I like that he's learning archery. he should also learn the quarterstaff, I think.
Comments from author:
Good suggestion. He'll need it if he ever wants to fight the guy on the other side of the stream. Hagrid as Little John?

Having Harry buy out the stores in the ally then raising the rent is wonderful. I have read a few stories where Harry didn't win his hearing but none where his friends stuck by him as they are in this. I have to say that I am wondering about the backlash of Harry doing what he did to the students who couldn't get school supplies and how the ministry also reacts. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment to this so far wonderful story.
Comments from author:
Admittedly, that was one of the reasons I wrote this. Having Harry be expelled holds so much possibility, but it's rarely used and when I did see it used, there was this sudden irational betrayal of him. I didn't want to go that way. Things will change and morph.

Nice. I liked Harry's revenge in buying out a good portion of Diagon Alley. It sounds like the goblins fully approved of his actions.
As for the group Harry found, my first thought (Especially when you specifically mentioned rattan) was SCA. It'll be fun to see what kinds of skills beyond fighting Harry and possibly the others might pick up.
Comments from author:
Yeah, the rattan was supposed to be a bit of a red herring. This Harry will be learning some different skills than cannon Harry. I think it'll be fun.

Couldn't Harry move to another country and another school? Just because he's expelled from Hogwarts doesn't mean that Beaubatons (or some other school) won't take him.
They'd probably be ticked pink to teach the boy-who-lived & thumb their nose at Fudge at the same time!
Comments from author:
You're not the first person to suggest that. Sure, maybe, but there are reasons for it. Dumbledore would be much further out of reach, if an attack did take place in another country, the Order wouldn't be able to back Harry up fast enough. There are as many, if not more, reasons to keep him close rather than let him go somewhere else.

I like that you're not going 'super Harry' which is how most stories like this go. Same same for "Lord Potter". If all that applied he'd already have known about it. * I take it that 'wand snapping' includes being forbidden from just getting another one? Come to think of it, that's what happened to Hagrid... Interesting part will be once Lord V is revealed as being back; the Ministry goes to Potter, and he isn't interested in coming back. * Why are they staying at Grimmauld? Sirius only stayed there because HP was at Hogwarts--they could go both head for America or Australia or some such. Start over. Maybe LA and meet the Fang Gang?
Comments from author:
I'm going with the idea that Dumbledore still heard the prophesy, and is therefore still keeping Harry close. As for the Grim Old Place, well, that's a good secret place for the headquarters of the Order. He'll be staying right there because he wants to be with the Knights.
The wand snapping did happen to Hagrid, and he kept the pieces in his umbrella. Harry won't do that. He also won't get a new one.
