Always great to see an update and I love the little bit of friendship building up between Jean and Xander. It's not love at first sight or anything but honestly it's looking to be a more normal relationship than you usually see in the Xmen world. I swear all of Jean's normal relationships are lust filled burst of love and angst. They just shift from hate, jealousy, love and forgiveness and back again.

As for Sue's mom if there isn't an official name listed some where like Wikipedia I would just call her Jane or something. Everyone else in the family has a really traditional American name, ie Susan, Johnny etc. It would fit and it's not like it's a huge deal either way.

Yeah, a normal relationship maybe, but that's exactly the reason why it can't last in a comic-book universe. Besides, at this point it's barely a friendship, though the dialogue between Jean and Xander is fun to write. You rarely get a chance to see two characters given the ability to say whatever they want to each other without filtering something for fear of repercussions.

The date was everything I'd hoped for. And no random violence either! I love it when you can just let the characters play and let that develop the action of the chapter... The need for violence/action in comics is one of those things that bugs me on occasion...strictly speaking sometimes it just feels a little forced.
I love the idea of Xander getting the X-men and FF together to hang out. Beast and Reed would have very interesting conversations... Jean would likely get along well with Sue... And Ben would love to have more folks who wouldn't look at him like a monster. Then there's the chaos to be made of introducing Johnny and Bobby earlier in the timeline... plus the possibilities of Webhead getting involved. All sorts of fun material coming up for this story...and that's without the ridiculous conflicts.
Looking forward to seeing how Xander interacts with Atlantis' bad-boy next chapter. I'm sure we'll get enough fighting from THAT to make up for whatever action-jones folks had for this one.

Yeah, I wasn't really expecting it, but Xander and Jean (the Ultimate version at least) seem to have a bit of real chemistry. That, combined with the fact that, since the relationship is completely fake, neither of them have to hold anything back, i.e. they can say whatever they want, and you get some pretty amusing dialogue and the potential for actual friendship.

I think one way you could look at Sue's mother is like a former - abandoned - companion of Doctor Who. It doesn't have to be literal, but it could be. I enjoyed dipping into this world again. Thanks for continuing.

either xander needs to stand up to Fury more or Fury needs to back off two super teams and fighting off the demons on the hellmouth, and he just keeps pushing. Although what probably is more frustrating to me reading this is that he keeps threatening to blackmail Xander by distorting the truth of the matter that Xander is a troubled Teenager, when all along those supposed 'issues' are him literally helping to prevent apocalypse. I just kinda wish there was some turn around against Fury
