Oh my! That last sentence cannot be good. Nice cliffy. I just finished rereading your whole story, again. I am totally impressed with how 'Ringoish' the flashbacks are and how 'BtVS-ish' the rest of the story is. Nice job with bringing both universes to life without blending them into mush.
Will Anya be showing up? If Xander needs a girlfriend, and who doesn't?, maybe she could take the job? I always liked Anya and I can't think of another BtVS character who could be a good fit as Xander's girlfriend. Of course, I'm not sure how this situation could happen in your new time-line. Well, maybe Fred would fit, who was an Angel minion but still cool. Lordy, would Fred geek-out at Xander's alien-tech. And she might even come up with ways to improve his 'things'. Lol!

Thank you for the review, I really appreciate it. To answer your question unfortunately Anya wont be showing up in this fic since I couldn't think of a way to introduce her. But Xander will be meeting his future girlfriend soon. Olbear

I love each opportunity we have to see the 'Mad Mandos'. It's such an appropriate crew for Xander and makes such great use of the culture building Karen Travis did in her terrific series. Xander having difficulty re-connecting with his old friends and makes a LOT of sense. He's been through a complete change in worldview and training compared to anything they can conceive. Hope we get to see him make SOME new connections coming up. I doubt Anya would fit in the picture anymore, but maybe Kate Lockley. Or Lilah Morgan trying to find out who's been making waves and altering the ground on behalf of WR&H? Just random thoughts. Anyhow, really enjoying seeing more of this story, and looking forward to more. Hope that inspiration strikes soon. Thanks for sharing with us.

Review:
I just finished rereading your whole story and thank you for the great entertainment. I know Joss didn't want the Slayers to fight with high technology weapons as that would have changed the whole tone of the show. But weapons are why puny Humans are at the top of the food chain. Since you are not Joss, I am thrilled with the way you are taking the Buffyverse. As the old saying goes, there are very few problems in life that cannot be solved with sufficient amounts of high explosives.
I always wondered why the Scoobies didn't just kidnap the mayor, tie him up, and drop him into a wet concrete foundation at some construction site. Even if Mayor Dick was invulnerable, he was only Human strong and would have had a real hard time burrowing out from several feet of concrete. Not to mention the whole having no air to breath problem. Dropping him into a couple of miles of sea water is just as good.
All in all, this is a great story and I love what you've done with the characters. I just hope the head of the CoWs death is really slow and painful and not just a quick touch of superheated plasma. Lol!
PS I believe the CoWs are using a Council aircraft because they are transporting a lot of weaponry for their 'Wet Works' teams that would have problems passing even 1999's lower security standards.

Very good, now I have to wonder if 20km is really far enough to keep Wilkins from walking or swimming home. It might be or it might not be.

Review:
Why is Travers flying the long and slow route? There is and was at least one 747 every day from London Heathrow to LAX, using the direct route. That one is faster than any business planes in 1999. First class tickets should be always available, or made available given the Councils influence. Everyone involved from the US can meet him at LAX, and there can be a business plane to go from LAX to Sunnydale.
Two engine planes were not allowed to use the short route, they had to keep in range of emergency landing sites. See the wikipedia entry about ETOPS.
If Travers really needs to go to New York first, the concorde was still operating in 1999, and could do two round trips every day. The concorde got priority slots for landing in New York, and London, every one else had to wait.
The fastest way from New York to Sunnydale would depend on the available slots for business planes, and if the Council has enough cloud to delay a scheduled plane for him.
Regards

Another solid chapter. The use of the suspension tech is a great way to bypass the invulnerability. Travers and the Watcher's Council so often make for a great series of antagonists against the 'rebellious' slayers, though I'm very curious about what they're going to see and what'll happen when they meet Xander. Great work, love the story and looking forward to more.
