BooYa!! Good to see you back on this; liking the way it's going. Had to re read it - any excuse will do - and saw the Seer Vampiress' reading/prophesy about Xander training a group of women... Obviously, Cordelia is the start, and if Jenny is a quarter as smart as she needs to be to do her jobs, she's next in line.... I hope.

Be pretty sweet if she's well enough trained to either escape and evade Angelus later on or hand him his fanged butt...

Wondering how close the Cordettes are here and if they are worthy of the Comsquare's attentions... And yes, I mean /those/ attentions too. Can't let Cordelia have /all/ the fun, right?

In the Buffy 'verse, is the Idunine and other Blackcollar drugs still in Xander's system enough to be broken down and analyzed... and reproduced even if in a lesser form? Sort of a version of the Super Soldier system....

Edit: Marcie Ross!! Not necessary that she be gone already, this is YOUR 'verse we're talking about here, after all!

..... Besides, her and Faith are two of the ladies I'd like to see get the training and Xander time...
Comments from author:
First off, thank you for the review. Of course Jenny will be trained by Xander and what she'll do to Angelus, well you'll have to wait and see. As for who else will be trained by the Comsquare, I have some ideas.
Unfortunately using Xander's blood to create a Super Soldier serum wont happen, at least not yet.

Review:
Sadly, Marcie Ross has been a "guest" of the United States government since season one.

Edit: One of the previous reviews mentioned her.
Comments from author:
I don't think you meant to review this story since I'm pretty sure that I haven't mentioned Marcie once.

Regarding weapons in the Blackcollar universe - from TVTrope:

"The Blackcollars' use of technologically simplistic weapons is due to the Ryqril having technology that tracks and counters more advanced weapons such as laser rifles.

This doesn't mean the Blackcollars can't combine more advanced weapons with their standard loadout, such as using simple slingshots to hit enemy sensors...hit them with sticky clay pellets containing lumps of radioactive plutonium that will degrade the sensors and render them blind for a coming attack."

I am really enjoying your story. I like how your Xander is good without being SuperXander! I just hope the Xander/Cordy relationship goes better in your time-line than in the canon one.

Edit: I agree with another reviewer. I would love to see Joyce become one of Xanders Valkyres. She was not only one of my favorite underutilized characters, it was just not logical to leave her in the dark. Besides, Xander training her mom would drive Buffy nuts. Lol!

Sad that Buffy's a necrophiliac, and Willow's her enabler, but what can ya do?

Liked Kendra; she's starting to blossom, now if only her Watcher has enough brains to help her...

So, Cordelia's having a heart to heart with Xander, eh... She knows enough, seen enough to want the whole story, and I'm betting training, as per Dru's prediction, so I'm wondering just how many Valkyries there' going to turn out being. To be honest, I can't really see Buffy going out of her way to be trained - especially by Xander - and Willow, doesn't strike me as being willing to go the physical route, being convinced that her intellect is her only asset. Jenny'd be a nice choice; she already knows about the nightly bumpers, is probably physically fit, and is one of the people Xander would go above and beyond to protect... assuming she's already been introduced by now... hmmm, an excuse ti re read the entire story again!!! Joyce is one I sincerely hope would be introduced into the truth about the town before she gets killed or Turned; it /never/ made sense to me that she was left in the dark as long as she was, so having the ComSquare get serious about defending his loved ones would be logical, intelligent, and an interesting plot twist... I can just see Joyce, Jenny, Cordelia, and a recent transfer student from Boston and her mentor/mother figure all dressed on minimal Spandex working hard in the Sunnydale weather, sweating away as they twist and contort , learning the deadly skills of the Blackcollar... and Xander trying to to let the ladies see just how much they're getting to him, unaware that they have individually decided that this was /fun/, getting him all bothered, and letting some of their own inhibitions loose...

While Buffy, Willow, And Giles all try their best not to freak out at all the changes in the people around them, their Xander shaped friend in particular, who seems not to be as fascinated in them as he once was... Not to mention all the attention he's getting from so many exceptionally attractive women now...

.... OK, back now from the re read... See that Jenny is in fact there and the whole Eyghon thing has happened, so she could be one of the trainees; it'd make sense, especially if things go to hell after they find out about her whole Secret Mission.

Would suggest that Xander locate the motorcycle that Cyclops used to get to town; be excellent transportation, Willie can be... persuaded... to arrange the paperwork, thus allowing better mobility while decreasing his dependance on Giles' rust bucket and Cordelia, who can't be around all the town, right? Grant you that a truck would be better later on for moving groups of people, but the bike would extend his range and capabilities at this time. Been a while since I read the Blackcollar series - something I'm needing to dig out of storage and correct - but I half recall them using an equivalent in the books.

To be honest, re reading the story gave me the feeling that the group and Xander are going to be growing apart; he has the memories of a man who fought a guerrilla war, then went underground for 30 years before striking again and defeating his enemy and beginning the freeing of his world and race. Xander is some of what he once was, but those memories as well as the loss of Jesse are going to change him more and faster that the others, and I can't see them understanding this.

There /will/ be a head to head confrontation that the group will lose, as he will not stop, he will not stand down, and he will not be pushed aside. Once that happens, he'll be around to help when needed, but he will do things his way. Explosives, firearms, booby traps, ambushes - any way to destroy the monsters around the town are going to be used, and Giles will be among the first to freak out, I think, as he will be the first to realize what's going on and who's behind it. Willow and Buffy are so set on seeing Xander as he was, despite the evidence of their sparring sessions and the rest that they will ignore things until forced to see them. Ya know, I just remembered Amy and Marcy, both of whom would be excellent additions to Xander's Valkyries: Amy as she knows about magic and the town; Marcy 'cause she deserves a break, dern it! Let's face it, if Xander somehow spotted her that first year or whenever it was, she could return to 'normal' and then join in later on.... This is AU, c'mon, give the girl a break!!

I'll give you cookies, ice cream, doughnuts, and dark chocolate if you do....

Review:
This is very interesting.

I would have liked to have more details of the battle at the church but the flash back from the Assassin's memory was a fairly good way to handle it.

It appears that Kendra survived, the question is did Spike and Dru?

I look forward to your next chapter!
Comments from author:
Spike and Dru? Well, that would be telling. I'm afraid you'll have to wait to find out what happened to them. Thanks for taking the time to review.
