Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from trongod
Review:
As Xander said, he needs to work on his stamina; his fighting skills are, I think, pretty much muscle memory still from the Chaos spell, although his continued practicing should deepen that. The fight he just had was fast and short, which helped in his victory. he took the vamps by surprise by not panicking and begging for help or mercy; his abrupt transition from 'prey' to 'threat' was quick enough to take them by surprise. Had there been more, it might have been a different story, so he did get lucky in that way.

The Comsquare's influence is going to be felt more and more by Xander as he trains and the skill sets are reinforced by the training, along with him training Buffy and Willow - who desperately needs training in hand to hand as well as magic before something eats her - and Xander begins to see that he is /still/ Xander - just with some upgrades.

But how long before Xander sees that the more Blackcollar trained people they have, the safer they all are??? Even without the enhancement drugs, the future Blackcollars were able to train quite a number of people to some extra ordinary levels...

A well written sense of panic from Xander about the consequences of the possession as well as how he is beginning to get a little more realistic about what is required for his future. Also, a great fight scene, very in-tune with a Blackcollar.

Xander may be a different kind of soldier, but he still shows sound military thought when it comes to planning and strategy. Xander knows that he has the skill sets in his head, but he is smart enough to train his body to match those skills. He isn't going to race out thinking that he is SuperXander! now. He's training his body to be on par with his mind. I like that.

And another winner hits the web!! The Blackcollar stories are among some of my favorites to re visit from time to time, so I truly hope you explore this further. The memories and abilities of a long serving officer such as Damon would have major repercussions on the events in the Hellmouth, but I suspect Xander and whatever remains of the Comsquare would keep a low profile until he/they have developed sufficient bases, safehouses, armament, comm units, etc.

He was, after all, one of the premier Commando commander, used to operate behind enemy lines - on enemy held worlds - come to that, so guerrilla warfare is his specialty. Add to that Xander's awareness and - as Willow sated - his new serious attitude toward life, and you get a seriously scary combination. What science skills they now have will be interesting to see explored, since strategy. logistics, tactics, and specialized training should include that as well - and since the Comsquare is from the future...

Nice start.

Haven't read the Blackcollar books but generally familiar with the plot. Interesting choice for Xander to become. Look forward to what he can accomplish.

Looking forward for more. Thank you. You might not know it but this story and your ACS story both answer this challenge the In Jim Baen's Memory Challenge. Especially this one since Blackcollars are mentioned.

Another great choice of crossover. The character especially seems to fit with a more mature Xander who is willing to get the job done with minimal attention. I can't help but laugh at the Initiative and Walsh pouting when they get a glimpse of how far adrift they are in terms of improving fighters.
