Nearly everyone else has played the part of the villain, why not Giles? I always did think that Ripper wasn't as gone as he wanted everyone to believe.
Cool story.
Comments from author:
Well, it certainly looks that way. ;-)
And the few times Ripper was glimpsed showed he coudl be a quite interesting character. ;-)

I'm intrigued by the idea of an evil, power-hungry Giles...and one having difficulty interpreting the prophecy/seer's info is just icing.
Buffy being able to handle advanced mathematics is just too spooky for words (chills). After all, advanced math is what made possible nukes and high-power directed energy weapons. Hmmm.
Comments from author:
Yeah, I agree with bot of your observations.
And the thought of nuclear-powered Slaying weapons is SCARY!!!! ;-)

I had somehow missed this series... I don't know how, but I'm glad I found it now! This is great, and I really hope it (and all of your other stories *hint hint*) gets updated soon! I love suped-up Xander stories, and I like that you have him suping up the girls a bit too.
Can't wait for more!
Comments from author:
Well, the series wasn't note until the second story was posted.
Glad you're enjoying them.

"And it shall come to pass that, in the days preceding the Commencement of the Fourth Age, the Jester, most favored Acolyte of Chaos, shall bestow his Samhain blessing on the Dale favored by Helios, and from that anointment shall the Ascended venture forth, resplendent with power undreamed of by mortal man." Xander enables his girls... maybe more?
"Fenrir's Child and Hecate's Daughter shall find succor as disciples of the Ebon Thief of Flames, and Hephaestus' Apprentice, the Scion of Mars through the Jester's meddling, shall serve his shield brethren well with his skills." Oz and Willow disciples of the Black Prometheus - Kane, now Xander - as Vulcan's aide (Yeah, Roman, I know) and Ares' descendent - Xena...
"The Hand of Teraka shall seek to end the Twice-Lived Sentinel who safeguards the False Pathway to Hades' Realm, but Hypatia's Pride and the Selfish Angel shall come together and their gifts merge to their mutual satisfaction, that the Lord of Violence shall not be left desolate with grief." Buffy (Hypatia was a mathematician) and Cordelia (see her own comments, but she' not /that/ bad!)get together 'to their mutual satisfaction' - Heh!! - so Xander doesn't destroy the freaking planet in grief.
"The Strangler's Avatar Made Flesh shall abet Gaia's Favored once more, and the Remorseful Warlord shall aid them, that the self-marked minions of the Body-Stealer and their allies be frustrated in their goals." No clue, agree about Gaia's favored is a Slayer - but which one? - Kane as Xander fights against Eyghon's dupes - Giles & Co. and the Watchers Council.
"Then shall the three wreak vengeance not seen since the days of ancient Carsultyal, and those who oppose the Select shall fall." Pretty self explanatory, I think.
"Thus shall the Fourth Age be ushered in, to the triumph and satisfaction of the Elite, who shall guide the world to its imminent glory." See my last comment.
How'd I do, Coach!!! And I'm loving this, by the way.
Comments from author:
You nailed a coupe of them right on, and missed completely with a couple others.
You continued this one! You continued this one! * bounces around * I loved this entire set of concepts and I've read the story several times over the years. I'm delighted you came back here.
Comments from author:
Thanks. And yes, my muse has finally expressed interest in this one again. ;-)
Okay, Giles is more misguided than evil... I think. Meanwhile an interesting scenario. Thanks for sharing and continuing. I got that Cordelia is probably the selfish Angel, but that could have also been referring to Angel the vampire with a soul.
Comments from author:
You're quite welcome, and thanks for reviewing.
And as far as your guesses are concerned, each one sounds quite reasonable, so we'll just have to wait and see how things develop.

If the next word out of his mouth is 'strip', I hope he knows a fast teleportation spell that will take him someplace far, far away. Maybe the Orion Nebula.
Either that or a very strong personal force field.
Comments from author:
While Xander might be *thinking* that, he's not nearly so stupid as to actually voice it. ;-)

My big question is about you making Giles a sort of a villain. Still seeking great power. I really liked your dream-sequence thing. Reminded me of a Piers Anthony kinda of thing.
Comments from author:
Well, I've read stories where pretty much everyone else has been a villain, so why not Giles, this time around?
And thanks for the good words. They're much appreciated. ;-)

I do hope the tarakan's don't succeed in killing buffy, and it sounds like gaia's favored might be cordy in this case. Plus this giles is pretty dumb to not realise the body stealer is eyghon and he is one of the self marked. Looking forward to more hopefully soon.
Comments from author:
The Terakans care more about their fees than whom they're hired to kill.
It's going to suck to be them. ;-)
And you have to realize that Eyghon is just *one* of many species of demons who can steal bodies, and he considers himself and his cohorts as manipulators, not the manipulated. ;-)
Interesting story here Buddy; and I'm extremely intrigued by the characterization of Giles, it looks like he may be the Villain of the story, which isn't something I think I've seen before, and I like it.
Also, speaking as a fellow writer, I'm constantly impressed with your ability to generate prophecies for your stories and would love to know how you do it!

Glad you're enjoying the story, man. ;-)
And as far as writing prophecies is concerned, it just seems to come easily for some things; not as easily for others. ;-(
