Review of chapter "First Star" from (Past Donor)Joyful
Review:
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

I love that Ithilienne is flirting with tharhiwon. And I am so happy for Galanthir!!!
Comments from author:
Thank you. Poor Legolas is being played like a fish on a line at the moment...

Galanthir is going to find himself having to 'parent', as their actual parents are still in Eryn Lasgalen.

Wonderful. I love this concept of the Western lands being some combination of heaven and the real world. Keep up the good work.
Comments from author:
Thank you - it is really good to know that you are enjoying it. The next chapter should take a bit less than the month it took to do this one - there was a lot of off-line life going on!

Review of chapter "Can't I Add Just a Touch of Hemlock?" from Oxnate
Review:
Wow.

This is more of a complete series review but I just wanted to let you know that I just started and finished this series over the last couple weeks. You really had me hooked. I almost didn't read this last part when I saw the "Unfinished" tag, figuring that you couldn't possibly still be working on this. I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Brotherhood is a masterpiece. Though I'll be giving my recommendation (in June) to Return of the Key to help get it higher on the lists and possibly get you more readers. Because this series is both the best Dawn Centered and the best Middle Earth story that I have ever read.

Enjoyed reading with the LoTR soundtrack in the background. (Kept hitting repeat) http://youtu.be/mfFQuhWaA_k

Anyway, I'm sorry I couldn't add more reviews to every story, but I hope you like this one. Keep up the great work.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much! I've been away for a few days and it was such a pleasure to see your review in my in-box when I got home. I am so pleased that you enjoy the stories - and am really thrilled that you think so highly of them.

And, as you will realise, this one is certainly not abandoned - I have the next chapter under way and it should be finished within the week, I hope.

PS - a friend gave me the soundtrack and I do have it on the hard-drive - although you would realise that, for Dust at any rate, I spent much of the writing time listening to Runrig.

STRANGERS?!

Ah!

Tell me who!

Some Valar perhaps? Or Noldor on a beach vay-cay from Tirion?

Ahhhhhh please update! I'm terribly impatient :)

Thanks for writing!
Comments from author:
Aha! The beginning of the next chapter is on my hard-drive and I know what is happening, so give me a week or two to get all the typing done and I promise it will be here!

And thank you for reviewing - it is much appreciated.

Review of chapter "Walk the Walk..." from starshinedown
Review:
Heh. Did I say in the last review that I almost feel sorry for Legolas? ;-)

I appreciate, so much, the way you've written Elven culture. Their general attitude toward sex (frank, nonchalant and also reverent), and each other, is so nice to read, and a nice change from the stuffy, stiff-upper-lip attitude so many fic authors write elves as having.
Comments from author:
Legolas has his problems - Ithilienne would just like to be one of the answers instead!

I'm so glad that you like my take on elven culture - it has developed quite a bit over all the stories, I think.

Review:
Glad to know Ithilienne isn't awkward about seeing her mom, dad, uncle, and aunt in some swinging sex action :p

I rather enjoy this being a way for Ithilienne to discuss sex openly and show yet again that she is not a little elfling ;)
Comments from author:
It struck me that I say in an earlier story that elflings are always brought up to understand that adults, including parents, have their own way of having fun - and while the elves may not go in for sex in the centre of public gatherings they have no problem with doing it in quieter public spots. So the beach has probably taken over from the traditional starlight bathing as a place where it is perfectly acceptable...

I think it is probably the first time she has actually stumbled over her parents (with or without Orophin and Lithóniel - such a group is probable an impromptu once every two or three year thing!) 'in the act' - but she would be very careful to not behave like an elfling and either gasp or stand and watch for ages; she is just hoping her companion recognises that she is behaving like an adult not an elfling!

AWESOME AND HOT AND FUNNY!

Oh Legolas, get over it already and shares some damn pleasures of the body with Ithillienne!!!!
Comments from author:
Thank you! The females, at least, are beginning to gang up on him... he is so outnumbered! Although I have the next chapter half written, and in it his thoughts and reasoning are a little clearer.

Review:
I haven't finished the chapter yet but I thought you might want to know that in the section where the guys and the local elleth are wading into the water to fetch the tree you accidentally typed "waited" instead of "waded."

:)
Comments from author:
Hmm - I was actually thinking of her waiting for them, as opposed to wading and swimming like the guys do - but if it isn't clear I might have to rethink it.

Review of chapter "Talk the Talk..." from AndreaH
Review:
Never thought of that reason for Rumil not going with Tindöme to Imladris! An interesting talk indeed... I had wondered what Tindöme and Galanthir had gotten up to, that answers that question!
It would be very interesting to see Gimli dance with Galadriel; how would the height difference work out? Will Gimli blush the entire time? Surely Gimli knows wood elves and Legolas well enough to realize bets are being laid?
A pleasure as always to read a new chapter...
Comments from author:
I have thought a few times to write a 'Small Return' with poor Rumil out on the Fences suffering from Tindöme not knowing how to shield her emotions, nor that she needed to! But for now this will suffice to give the idea.

Gimli doubtless does know that bets will be being laid - at least about the dancing - whether it has occurred to him that they are also being laid on whether he is being laid is another point to ponder...

The next chapter is already written, and with my beta, so it shouldn't be very long before I can post it, too.

Review:
Wonderful update! I enjoyed the mother/daughter unorthodox (to a human!) convo. Thanks for the update, dear!
Comments from author:
As I said to Joyful, Ithilienne knows most other ellyth enjoy 'the desires of the body', sometimes for thousands of years, without deep emotional involvement, but she has set her face to Legolas being the first - and she kind of feels, right now, that he is the one she will become deeply emotionally involved with. I could see her wanting to be sure that she understood properly that her mother felt the same, and still got some 'experience'.

If she hadn't initiated the conversation then Tindómë probably would have done - now that she has decided she can cope with her daughter lusting after her 'brother' and vice versa.

Review:
This chapter made me so happy!

I love the conversation between Tindome and Ithilienne.
Comments from author:
I could see Ithilienne wanting to be sure that she understood properly. Most ellyth enjoy gaining experience in this, sometimes for thousands of years, but she has set her face to Legolas being the first - and she knows he doesn't find her totally undesirable... Is she right than her mother felt the same, and still got some 'experience'?

I think, perhaps, if she hadn't initiated the conversation then Tindómë probably would have done - now that she has decided she can cope with her daughter lusting after her 'brother' and vice versa.

Poor, poor Legolas. ;-)

I do enjoy Legolas/Ithilienne :)

And yay for a proper festival!

Can't wait for an update :)
Comments from author:
Legolas/Ithilienne has been fun to write too - I think he is going to find himself being twisted around her little finger almost without him realising - she is her mother's daughter but without the insecurities!

The next chapter is underway - as are the festival preparations...

All the gossip about the sex lives of Frodo, Sam, & Gimli had me CRACKING up! Especially all the implied slash questions about F/S and G/L.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much! I'm really glad that bit amused you - it was such fun to write - and you just know the ellyth would be gossiping like that!

Review of chapter "A wager won." from fayefree
Review:
Wonderful as always, but way to short. I would like to see what everyday life is like for Tindome. I have always thought that life in valinor sounded kind of dull, and boring.
Comments from author:
Don't worry - the next chapter is on the way; this just seemed the right place to finish this chapter!

I think the 'all find healing, it is a peaceful, tranquil place' idea seem as bit too simplistic when you consider how fiery the temperaments are of those early Elves who lived there, or moved from there to Middle Earth.... and the influx of increasing numbers of Sindar and Silvan elves into the whole set up... maybe not quite so tranquil everywhere!
