Personally, I *loved* that you didn´t make a big deal out of the Caleb/Castle shared actor thing. While one does need to keep characterization and rules of the verses in mind, merely doing what´s expected of a fic is boring. And one common way to deal with Caleb/Castle resemblence got stale by the third story I´d read... This piece, however, used the expected double-take at "Caleb" to make the family connection between Kate and Buffy more of a surprise. Well done, there.

I´ll certainly be sure read further if you ever do continue the hunt for/case of the rabid zombie werebear ot whatever they´re tracking.

Great job on the story, though I'm surprised there was no reaction to Castle's resemblence of Caleb. I also wish that it was more than 1 chapter.

I just figured that the Castle/Caleb thing had probably been done enough and it didn't really serve any purpose in my story. Plus I'd like to continue it at some point when I'm not so swamped with other writing commitments - when I did, I'd like the Buffy characters to get to know Castle as Castle without the stigma of Caleb hanging over them.

Some kind of zombie attack? Is that why infection is a concern? So I'm assuming that in your fic Castle doesn't actually look that much like Caleb? Curious beginning though Ryan really doesn't seem like Buffy's type. Is she using him for info or does your Buffy actually feel attracted to him (I'm imagining it being in a fluffy puppy kind of way)?

I'm hoping to get back to this at some point and turn it into a full length fic, so the "infection" would be explained more then. As for Ryan and Buffy, I think she'd at least agree to go out with him on the basis that he's "cute". Where it would go from there, if anywhere, would be something else to explore in the story. The only part of this story I didn't like was the part at the end where it said 'this story is complete.' It worked. It was perfect, and wrapped nicely, but I want more. :)

I enjoyed it. I would suggest, however, that you put in an author's note, telling everyone that, "For one reason or another, Caleb and Castle do NOT look alike." That way, you don't have to deal with it in-story.
