I was LMAO reading the entire story, and have to say, WE NEED TO SEE MORE OF THIS!!!

Most especially with Ryan mooing over Buffy, and her possibly reciprocating a bit, too. ;-)

As another reviewer commented, it seemed a bit unusual not to have seen any comments about Castle's resemblance to Caleb; even a throwaway line about having seen Castle's picture on a dust jacket of a book or something would have helped there.

In any event, we most definitely need a follow-up to this one!!!! PLEASE!!!!

I'm so glad you liked it! I actually would like to turn this into a full length fic at some point, but I have a lot of other writing stuff on my plate right now so I decided to leave it as a one-shot until I find the time to get back around to it. :) As for the whole Caleb/Castle thing, I just felt that it had been done enough and since it really didn't serve any purpose I left it out. If I continue it, I'd like Buffy to get to know Castle as Castle without the whole Caleb thing hanging over them.

It's almost obligatory that Caleb is mentioned at least once somewhere in a Buffy/CASTLE x-over.

Not sure what to feel after not finding that in this...

The fact that it's "almost obligatory" is what turned me off to it, actually. I felt it had been done enough and really served no purpose in the story, so there wasn't really any reason to bring it up. I wanted Castle to just be Castle. :) Thanks for reading and reviewing!

A part of me would have liked to see Buffy and/or Xander initially assume that Castle was Caleb, but the idea of her and Kate being cousins is still an interesting one that I wouldn't object to seeing developed further if you're so inclined...

I'm glad you liked it enough to want more. :) Hopefully I'll find the time to turn it into a full length story some day. As for the Caleb/Castle thing - it just didn't appeal to me. I felt that it was probably done to death in other Castle crosses and it didn't really fit the story, so I just let it go.

You made me laugh through the whole story, but of course by the end all I wanted was more. Especially if it was Ryan and Buffy's first date. Either way awesome. I've been looking forward to this story since I first read your prompt list.
