Why doesn't Dawn simply punch the old bag in the face for the beating? Or shred her face with her fingernails like mozzarella cheese?
If any old bag tried to beat me, even at that age, I wouldn't have taken it. After the first hit, I'd grab the cane and let her have it across the skull a few times, maybe even smash a vase over her head and give her a concussion or skull fracture.
Or break the cane over the old woman's arm, hopefully breaking the arm in the process.
I know that women back then weren't supposed to be people, but it just irks me!
After losing a few teeth and the ability to chew solid food, the old bat would never touch Dawn again, I guarantee it.
Bloodthirsty? You betcha!
Still, this is a cool story, and I'm looking forward to how it plays out.

Always handy and writers have been doing it for years. Giving the hero a guide to explain what's going on to the reader. Next time I write something like this I'll try to get rid of the gude character just for the fun of it!
I hope there is more to this Varro than a hard head. Also, he should get as far away from Dawn as possible, her 21st century sensibilities are not sensible at all when she voices an "opinion" out loud around there. Why the murderous motives concerning Nana? Just my basic questions and not trying to get ahead of the story. Looking forward to more.
Comments from author:
I think there's some explanation for Nana coming up.
Varro is just your typical officer type who has the 'misfortune' to meet Dawn.
Late to the party this time, but I'm caught up now. These little adventures are some twisted freaky pranks on our Scoobies and this one is the best example of hostage to fortune yet. Will Dawns blithe ignorance of reality be her saving grace?
Comments from author:
I once had an RPG character who I played as being convinced that all the monsters were just Germans in rubber suits. He got so good I had to retire him.
I think Dawn's inability to see the danger will actually save her life.
Well Dawn is getting on well with that nice young man isn't she? And she seems to have retained some instincts which should help her find her feet in this new world. I'm glad she is feeling at least a little bit sad about her sister too. But there is no way back and she needs to move on. Now she just needs to wise up and recognise that her guardian is trying to have her killed! She seems to have got away with it at for quite a while so far though so I guess it is unlikely she will slip up now. Stay sharp Dawn!

Dawn has a charmed life after all the things that were after her in SunnyD!

I'm glad to see the next story has started. I hope Dawn manages to grow up a little bit despite being a real princess in this world. I guess she is only fourteen but I hope she realises that she is not 'entitled' to be a princess. Somehow I think that woman trying to assassinate her may be helpful in this process :)
Comments from author:
I watched all of S3 before starting this story. I noticed one important thing. At the start of S3 Dawn is still a girl by the end of it she's a young woman. The same is hopefully true of this fic.
Hope you enjoy, D.

Great to see the next story in the series being posted. Have been looking forward to it.
Since Buffy, Willow and Faith all "arrived" before Dawn came on the scene, Dawn is going to remember all of them, but if/when she sees them and says she is Buffy's sister, they are going to have no reason to believe her.
Comments from author:
If I remember correctly, Dawn and Willow are the only two people to have met at least versions of every one in their pasts.
Cheers, D.

Nice start. Like that Dawn kind of landed in the life of a princess. Should make for some fun. Already liking her ordering a horse. Here is to hoping that while she doesn't have season 7 skills learned from Buffy that we see a few nasty tricks fighting wise that Spike might have shown her as well as a few moves that she watched Buffy do a few times come out to shine.

Dawn got lucky for once becoming a princess in her new life, but the busty woman is already plotting to kill her, so much for good luck. This should be interesting, I have no idea whats going to happen, but I know it'll be good. I love this series.

Thank-you.
Nothing bad EVER happens to Dawn so I expect it'll all come right in the end.

Dear me. Well at least one of the girls arrived without complete mind shattering trauma/ Other than losing her sister on the other side and almsot getting raped. I wonder how this will continue...

Well, this is Dawn we're talking about, I'm sure it'll be all puppies and kittens from here on in!
