Oh I did enjoy this romp through the Ancient Roman Empire - Buffy et al fit remarkably well into Up Pompeii! Although I think Fidelia might have been my absolute favourite.

Review of chapter "Chapter Eighteen." from PATM
Review:
Yes I am not happy the story is over, and also that Faith feels bad about Ammonia misusing the cursed necklace, because what else would a Roman do? And ending the series? Bummer man. Great enjoyment was had. Also Buffy's first coitus impressed her so much she fell for the magic amulet ploy. Hilarious.
Comments from author:
There's an old saying...'leave 'em wanting more!'

There also a possibility that I might come back to this, but for now its over with.

Faith feeling bad...well its those pesky maternal instincts. Its odd to think in this stories Faith is in her early thirties while Buffy was no more than 18...almost young enough to be Faith's daughter!

Anyway, glad you enjoyed.

Cheers,
D.

PS: They always fall for 'the amulet will stop you getting pregnant' ploy in the end!

Review:
Can't believe I managed to read this whole thing on my phone, and therefore never review a single chapter, but in a way, that's a compliment - mobile phone means always on hand, means always reading new chapters as soon as I've seen the story updated.
Really enjoyed the whole thing, and the series in general, the dancing girls I think would be my favorite here, or else the terrible poetry.
Comments from author:
Thank-you.

As I say I'm not responcible for the poetry...I can't make that TOOOO clear!

You know, there's not enough stories with scantily clad dancing girls in them...more dancing girls I say!

Cheers,
D.

Ah, the joys of Spring. First a nice bout of flu(the normal kind); later, a nice going away in vacation away from it all, and then, read all the backlog of unread fanfics. And the wait was worthy indeed =D!.
Awesome ending to the series dude =)!!. I really liked the ride Buffy went through in this fic. From a shellshocked survivor to a hardened warrior, and of course, all the sex scenes ;).
I checked about the tv serial crossing over with BTVS , and I'm gonna ehm, get it for my foreigner shows collection =).

Cool series dude, see ya!!!.
Comments from author:
Thank-you.

Illness? Holidays? No excuse not to read fics!!!!

I've not seen Up Pompeii (the TV series) for a very long time so I'm not sure how its 'aged', but I suspect it'll still raise a few laughs.

Cheers,
D.

Review:
Well! So this is the end of SPQR. What a shame! I have enjoyed it immensely: thank you very much. Gratuitous sex and violence as always, of course, as they should be. And also as always, all in the best possible taste.

The Latin continues to be from the Carry On/Up Pompeii Schools of Latin Prose or other such sources, which is fine, but I must protest one misquote from another Roman play by some little-known playwright: it must, it absolutely must be “Et tu, Brute?”. It would be such a shame to miss an opportunity to use the vocative case of a masculine word of the second declension, now wouldn’t it?

Vale, Magister!

Response to DT’s response:

Of course Buffy would get it wrong: how shortsighted of me!

Retires discomfited.

Thanks, as ever

JB
Comments from author:
Would it? damned if I know. Actually I sorta wish I'd done Latin at school (in another way I'm glad I didn't!) its an interesting subject.

'et tu Bruti/Brute'? Well it is Buffy saying it so she's bound to get it wrong!!!

Cheers,
D.

Review:
Thanks for a twisted but fun series. Kind of a Turner/Whedon production of "Blood and Sand"...and wouldn't that be a kick?

The "out of the blue" and totally unexpected 'Dawn married Nausius' and Cordelia being kicked to the curb was really odd (being just put out there like that, especially since you went to considerable length to develop the relationship between her and Cordelia). A bit more on how all that happened would have been desirable. Especially since Ancient Roman culture certainly promoted multiple relationships mistresses/concubines, etc. and same-sex relationships weren't a big taboo within certain social structures (and esp in Pompeii as I understand it).
Comments from author:
Who's to say that Dawn didn't continue her relationship with Cordy? Its all to do with dominance and all that stuff, as Dawn had been portraying herself as a 'Lady' then she would have to marry someone of equal social status...

Or I could be talking complete bollocks because I screwed up! Yep it was a bit sudden but it seemed like a good Idea at the time. The thought did occur that as Buffy had been screwing Nausius how would the marriage go down her? I mean I've heard of sisters sharing everything but that's maybe going toooo far!

Cheers,
D.

Great Story, Great series. Really enjoyed reading. I know you don't have plans at the moment for any sequels, but if you change your mind, this is one reader who will be very happy.

I liked the "tribute" to Sparticus.
Comments from author:
No story about Rome should be without at least one 'I'm Sparticus' moment.

Thank-you,
D.

Review of chapter "Chapter Eighteen." from MarcusRowland
Review:
Nice ending - though I'd love to see Joyce in this setting. Wife of one of the Gods, and enjoying watching her children and grandchildren prosper? And Giles?
Comments from author:
One of the possible ideas for another story was Giles and Joyce turning but I couldn't think of a good xover, also I was getting a little 'bored' with the setting (I can only write so much Blood and Gore without running out of adjectives!).

However, there's always a possibility of a couple more stories, you never know.

Cheers,
D.

Review:
Everyone who deserves it has their freedom, even Buffy has a family, and you might even say they all lived happily ever after. Or maybe just until Vesuvius exploded...

A nice gentle ending to a great series - well researched and fitting nicely with those which went before - and a great homage to a funny series.

Thanks for writing this.
Comments from author:
Even I love the 'Happily ever after' thing!

Thank-you for you kindwords,

Cheers,
D.
