Wow that is a lot of clues! A pity that Dick missed half of each sentence! That would have made it a lot easier to figure out :(. I think we have heard enough though. There are now two sides that want to sacrifice everyone! Who is going to be the one to figure out a way to stop it?
Comments from author:
Want or willing to sacrifice.... We'll see who stops who! :)

Review:
Isn't this a bright star in a dark sky. Well you definitely have me wondering, I believe Buffy is A chosen, but not of THE original chosen line of this universe, which happens to be Tim, who is of the immortal Mr.Brandt Diethelm's blood. I think possibly the Council has it's wires crossed and their spells are detecting chosen (A) and not chosen bloodline (B). Is there a possibility that Buffy's line has trumped the original line? I believe so, and Tim is her shield. I assume a merging was planned beginning a new separate Slayer line free of the council, who have become corrupt, and using her as a power tap to create super soldiers/assassins, and Diethelm plans on going straight to the undiluted source of a Slayers power, the demon itself. I could be wrong.

No doubt things will go tits up, as these things tend to do, with the possible creation of a new Hellmouth under Gotham. Fiddle-de-dee.
Thanks for the story and have a great X-Mas :)

Glad to see you're continuing this storyline. Hopefully the Bat family will arrive in time to save his life. And answers are starting to trickle out. So even now the bad guys don't know what Eliz. is, not even close. They're in for a surprise. And meanwhile...and we thought the Council on Buffy's world was bad, these guys make them look like saints.
Nice to see her healing factor kicking in so well.
Comments from author:
Yep, Buffy's old council is nothing compared to these guys. :)

Review of chapter "Chapter Four: Between the Lines" from bradsan
Review:
I read them again. All the stories and I still love them even when I knew what would happen.

There is one thing I don't understand. I know Liz/Buffy has to train her ability's because this body isn't used to them but her eyesight and hearing must be the same as before. So why didn't she hear the other side of the conversation when Tim was on the phone with Dick and "the guardian". That doesn't make sense or did she hear it and didn't react or didn't she concentrate on the call because normally she would hear what was said on the other side.

Tim is a little naive don't you think. She almost spell it out to him that she knows and still he has to ask. Dick already put the pieces together and knows that Liz/Buffy knows.

When or if she joins the bat-clan. What will her nickname be. She is little so Sparrow/hummingbird/magpie or blackbird. I can imagine Dick teasing her with some names she will hate because of her length.

I know that you are busy and don't have time to post an update any time soon but that doesn't keep me from hoping it will not take long.

edit: I smiled when I saw how big your comment was. You are almost as bad as I am with my big reviews."LOL". Your comment explains a lot and I'm thanking you for it. And overkill, I don't care I love it.

I’m glad that you are still enjoying the stories. A little bit of my time is starting to free up again so I will be able to write more. :)

You did bring up some good points. It’s always nice to know how some of the readers are seeing the situation as V.S. what I know what the situation is. Let me see if I can explain them without revealing spoilers. :)
Elizabeth’s powers… At this point there is not a lot I can comment on them because of spoilers. Just got to love those, no? But I can explain some of it by going back to the scene. First off the scene is in Tim point of view, so did Elizabeth overhear the conversation? Shrug. Maybe she did, maybe not.

But before we go in depth of the scene ponder on this situation. Have you ever had a day where you had lots of information or things thrown at you and during that you either had a conversation or overheard one? What comes to your mind first and what do you not remember until hours or days later? Or do you not remember the others pieces until something sparks the memories?

Ok, first we have the regular noise found in a restaurant, even if it usually pretty quiet there is always that conversation going on nearby that you can hear. I’ll admit I didn’t show that in the scene, mainly because it doesn’t have a strong enough effect on the story either way.

Next is the fight that is going on between Nightwing and the assassins outside the restaurant’s window during the phone call. Right there splits Elizabeth’s attentions. Is she focusing on the fight or the phone call? Both?

There are also a couple of factors to take into consideration. How loud does Tim have the volume on his phone? Does Elizabeth respect Tim’s privacy enough to try to not overhearing the phone conversation? Is she focusing on that or thinking on something else completely? How fully develop are her powers? The way I view her powers in the TV show is they got stronger as time went on.

Then we have the fight entering the restaurant, the assassins mentioning the Chosen, the minor spat with Tim, and Elizabeth later revealing part of her secret to Tim… There are also the concerns about Collins and thoughts about current and previous events.

Here is where the human element comes into play… We have all these events going on, but what is holding the most of Elizabeth’s attention? Quite often when we are focusing on one thing, others often fade into the background. So what is going to be on the forefront of Elizabeth’s mind? The home life, past events, the potential bad guys that are after Chosen/Slayer and will hurt others to get her, the conversation that Tim had over the phone, or Tim’s reaction to her secrets?

Is it possible that Elizabeth overheard the conversation? Certainty. Are there hints that she did in the scene? There little ones, but yes, they are there. Did she overhear the important parts of that conversation? Spoilers for either answer.
Hopefully that helps clear up some of the confusion of that scene as least a little. I probably overkill the explanation. :)
Now, for Tim’s apparent naivety … It’s more like wishful thinking…

Before we get into the details ponder on this scenario. Have you ever been in a situation where you logically know the answer, but ask the question anyways hoping for a different outcome?

It is the same concept here. There were several times when Tim wondered if Elizabeth knew his secret identity throughout the stories. In the Name, Color Me Red, Color Me Green, and in a couple chapters in Winter’s Child. Each time he brushed it off.

Why he did this? Several reasons.

1) No proof that Elizabeth knew for fact. Suspicion is just that, suspicion. If you don’t confirm them, you could lead the person away from those suspicions.

2) Jumping to conclusions. If you jump to conclusion and act on that you can reveal things you don’t want to. Yes, Elizabeth practically spelled it out for him, but the same clues and actions could be explained by other things. Like a couple things I pointed out such as the Wayne connection to Batman Inc. Add to that, that Elizabeth never fully confronts Tim about him being Red Robin. And why wouldn’t she? If he acted on the wrong information, he reveals not just his own secret by also Bruce’s, Dick’s, Damian’s, and possibly others.

3) How? Look back through the events through Tim’s point of view. How would Elizabeth discover the truth? He covered his tracks well. The cover story about his fake back injury is 95% true. She had never seen him change. There was no key move that would single him out. His skills were back by training by dojos and friends. He alters his voice when he is Red Robin. If Elizabeth was a regular teen and didn’t have her past life experience to fall back on would she had guess correctly that Tim was Red Robin or would she have let it go as a lucky break? With no reason of how Elizabeth could know about his identity it leads back to the previous point of jumping to conclusion.

Why did Tim ask the question to Elizabeth? Confirmation. Tim is not one to let go a secret lightly and he very good as seeing the angles and weighing the odds. Though slim there was a chance that Elizabeth wasn’t positive or didn’t know the truth and the actions taken meant something else. As long as there was a slim chance he’s not going to make a move that prevents the door on their secrets from ever closing. Dick on the other hand can often be considered as a straight line thinker where Tim could be consider an over thinker. Don’t get me wrong, Dick is a great detective, but both Tim and Bruce have him beat in this.

And here is where I stop so I don’t reveal spoilers! :)

Hopefully this helps. Again I probably went overkill on the explanation, but if you have more questions feel free to ask. The questions always help me understand how others are seeing the story and if there are parts that need clarifying in future chapters/stories.

And I agree, I could see Dick teasing her with names if she joins the bat-clan.

Thanks for the review!!

Review:
Yeah an update. I just read it an love it. I'm still thinking that the Joker won't appreciated what they are gone or want to do to his little girl. Like I reviewed before he won't let anybody but himself hurt "his" little girl. The new Council don't gone know what hit them when he gets the chance to get revenge. One of these days some people will tell him and he would do anything to get free again. Like always.

Love it that at least one secret is already out. Now Buffy has to reveal hers. It will raise more question and on the other hand it will answer some to. Like the shadow man and the council and probably the slayer line. Only one thing doesn't make sense to me. Buffy is an old Slayer and not a newly chosen one. She was already the chosen one when she was stuck between the dimensions. So somewhere around the world some other Slayer is running around or do they want to create a new Slayer line that doesn't already exist.

I never saw or read batman in this context so to me Batman and robin are familiar, Night wing and Red Robin not so much. and who is Nick Shadoway.

Good as always can't wait for your next update,

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. The world should fear the day the Joker breaks out again. :) The answer about the slayer line is coming, I promise. More pieces will come in the next couple chapters with it being fully explain in the second to the last chapter.

If you have any questions about Nightwing and Red Robin let me know. I'll be glad to answer them!

I can't even begin to express how happy I was to read this newest chapter. Buffy and Tim are just so adorable together! I looking forward to reading about the eventual meeting between Bruce and Buffy. I can see her getting very snarky with him and his "she's Joker's daughter" attitude.
