Review of chapter "Chapter One" from (Current Donor)RngrThorne
Review:
Oh that's a good giggle for the morning. Nice touch with Streaky's 'present'.
Comments from author:
Once you accept the premise of my version of entropic cascade failure, any substantial accumulation of matter from another dimension is potentially a weapon of mass destruction. Eating (and all subsequent processes) could be a bit of a problem...

Review:
Liked it, but if I am not mistaken the world without shrimp in Buffy is itself a reference to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series.
Comments from author:
Possibly, but if so I don't remember it. But Joss only steals from the best, it shouldn't surprise me.

Review:
Wonderful as always. Only problem is that each one gets met to re-read all the others too.
Any plans for a longer tale, along the lines of the first one?
Comments from author:
I really doubt it - the series has got so complex I doubt I can make another long one work well. Sorry.

Review:
Very good tale, and the Avengers characters felt fairly true, at least Bruce, Pepper and Tony [though I was interrupted partway through, and had the thought that Pepper might know of Kara Zor-el from comics she, but not the others, had read as a kid. Which would be funny, and set Tony off on such a tangent!

Thanks for sharing this, I truly love this world!
Comments from author:
I really don't think so - I'm trying to avoid that sort of "your world is fiction in my world" cliche as much as possible in this series, since there are so many crossovers I've several times caught myself referring to things that wouldn't be fiction as though they were, e.g. someone was going to make a joke about Steed and Peel when they met the Avengers, but one of the previous stories has their organization as real so they obviously can't be fictional characters. More examples:

Nobody in this series makes Buffy references; the Buffyverse characters probably won't inflict their in-jokes on other people; the World Without Shrimp is a serious philosophical concept (possibly from Fred's thesis), not a joke.

There won't be a BSG crossover since several characters have referred to BSG as fictional.

They watch Wormhole Extreme on TV, not Stargate SG-1.

Hope that makes it clearer.

Poor Thor, long way from where he meant to go,and yet so close.
Comments from author:
I'm thinking about a sequel - not sure that the world is ready for that level of silly though...

You did a great job with this story, I could see everything happening when I read the story. :D

Will Thor be included in any more stories in this series?

Thinking about it - it could get VERY silly though. Think Thor meets Thor (the Stargate version).

I love this so much you don't even know. I especially loved the SG and Angel references. Beyond awesome. Are you going to do he Thor crossover as well? Cause that would be awesome :)
Comments from author:
Haven't decided yet - possibly.

What Angel reference? World without shrimp? That's actually from Buffy, the world with nothing but shrimp was Angel.

Few things, first, LOVE the story, and the whole series of stories.

Second, in certain timelines the Justice League and The Avengers DO meet... Sometimes it's the Avengers that go to DC and sometimes DC goes to Marvel... I forget which was the first.

Third, I probably suggested this before, but there's an AWESOME author out there named Chris Dee who writes a story called Cattales, it's on it's own website ( http://catwoman-cattales.com/ ) and is a FANTASTIC read for anyone who loves the DC universe.

Fourth, I keep wanting to see John Constantine show up somewhere... not the pansy guy from the movie, no I want the real John Constantine who's friends with Zatanna, helped Morpheus recover an artifact of his power, pisses off heaven, hell, and The Green on a regular basis, stopped a fear machine in England from summoning a demon that would destroy England, and stopped heaven and hell both from winning the apocalypse by turning earth over to The Green.

But yea, I love the story, and if I could recommend series, yours would be in the top 5 (where depends on my mood at the time)

Taking your points in order:

Glad you like the story.

This is mostly the DC movieverse and Avengers etc. movieverse - Dick Grayson is in it, but for my purposes they're meeting the Avengers 'verse for the first time, and vice versa.

I've recced cat tales several times on e.g. the forums, I agree it's pretty good.

John Constantine may show up sooner or later - he's possibly on the list of names Dick gave Bruce Wayne in the previous story. An early version of the last chapter of the previous story had him sending Oracle to the DC universe, instead of Fate sending Dick, but for various reasons I couldn't make it work.

And thanks again.

This was fun. Two thumbs up!

Intelligent slime molds...any chance one was named Fred?

Classified patents in the area of entropic cascade failure, eh? Wonder if they have the name S. Carter on them...

And then a WILD THOR appears! Will Kara's action be SUPER EFFECTIVE? Stay tuned (I hope!). ;)
Comments from author:
I'm not sure I'll write a direct sequel, it works pretty well as a stand-alone, but if I do there may well be an S. Carter in the picture, and possibly more than one Thor.

You'd think that Heimdall would be more careful about where he aimed the Bifrost!

This was pretty cute.

I'd like to see one of the Avengers stuck in Kara's world.

Oh wait! He already is!
Comments from author:
Heimdall's aim was thrown off by the other portal. If I write a direct sequel I'm going to have some fun with Thor - possibly more than one Thor...
