Well, so far so good. The characters are true to the show's canon (I'm talking about Eureka characters here, primarily), and Jack and Andy's interaction was great. Jo too was featured quite nicely here, very realistically as well. Vi's appearance, however, is going to be a shock, for the obvious reasons, yes? Still, as long as Fargo has time to prepare and hide or do something not to be traumatized too badly, it will be okay for him, I hope. And even if that won't happen, the interactions of Willow and Vi with the Eureka's stranger inhabitants will still be quite interesting. Thanks for the update!

Review of chapter "Invasive Species" from AllenPitt
Review:
Gee, Vi does look a lot like Holly now that you mention it. Poor Fargo. Everyone will wondering about clones / robots etc at first, instead of the 'twin cousins' deal.

A very promising beginning. I look forward to the Eureka crew discovering the differences between the late Holly Martin and her counterpart Vi the Slayer.

Well, so far so good. By 'good' I mean that Willow and the others are heading in the wrong direction, since Barlowe has pretty much severed her ties with Eureka for now it seems and Jack and others might not be particularly helpful with the outsiders, especially those who're interested in Beverly (she left a sour taste in their mouths, I bet). Still, this isn't the sort of a problem that won't be overcome in time.
And, of course, Fargo's reaction to Vi can go any way. He might be happy, he might be shocked, sad, or just lock himself in a bathroom and wouldn't come out until something was done - but he will most certainly do something. All I can say is that Vi's and Willow's visit to Eureka may not be conclusive, but it will be exciting!

Great story idea! I like the connection with the recruitment effort in S2. Who knows maybe Oz works there now, already. Having Vi show up with her will really cause a stir. Poor Fargo. Meanwhile of course, it's already been established that Warehouse-13 is in the same 'verse with Eureka. Just saying'. Imagine W-13 going after the Scythe as a 'dangerous object'. Hm, Alphas is in the same 'verse, too ( Lindsay Wagner character has showed up in W-13 & Alphas.)

That's an interesting name for a story. Does it have anything to do with computer scientist Douglas Lenat's Eurisko AI program, used for mathematical research and for winning the Traveller Trillion Credit Squadron Championship in 1981 and 1982?
If it is, we might see Buffy killing a wounded Dawn later, as in the 1982 fleet, but I do hope not.

[17 May 2012] That review no longer makes any sense now that the story has been renamed from 'Eurisko'.
Comments from author:
Yes; that's not where I was going when I tried Eurisko. I figured that if I couldn't get a reasonably accurate transliteration, I needed to change the title.

Interesting story cross idea, I have been watching the current season of Eureka. But two things I see here...
1. Its subject to debate but after Willow went head first into magic, I think she kind of went sloppy on her tech and hacking skills. I mean in season 7 while looking for info on the First she was using search engines and finding sites like the "First Bank of Delaware."
2. You have Riley say "Colonel Walsh" but it was clear that Wash and her assistant Anglman were both not in the military. Yes they were in charge of the base and its people, but that was because it was a black operation that was controlled by non military people. It was not viewed as a military operation. Riley and crew were there to only capture the demons for Walsh to work on. Only after Walsh was killed did they send in a Colonel Macknameria to take over. He was in the last few eps when the scoobies broke in to stop Adam.
Comments from author:
Hmmm. For the first point, let's just say she redeveloped some skills after the end of the series. For the second, why couldn't Maggie Walsh have been in the military? (And, in any event, Riley still might refer to her as Colonel Walsh anyway.)

Hm, this is definetly an interesting story. I really think that Beverly needs more chances to do something good for a change after the end of "Senator Wen is evil" arc. Hopefully, she won't make a mess of it, and/or won't need to have some sense knocked into her too badly. Of course, she also needs to be found, and that may be tricky by itself. I will be certainly enjoying reading this story. :)
Comments from author:
Using TV Tropes lingo, I've always thought of Beverly Barlowe as a well-intentioned extremist rather than an outright villain. She seems to have this vision of Eureka as a place for pure scientific discovery rather than a place where military tech is developed in exchange for the rights to indulge in other forms of science. She was more than willing to mess with people, but killing them was another thing entirely.
