Review:
Great chapter...so many questions swirling around my head right now. I was glad to see Marianna finally come face to face with the Doctor again. I enjoyed the interaction between them.

I'm seriously wondering who could have set the trap for the Doctor? Adam seems the obvious choice but how does Adam even know who the Doctor is or where and when he'd be to do something like that?

And can I just add that any sympathy I may have had for Riley Finn from your last story is officially gone now. He's just being horrible here and I honestly don't know how you'll make things okay between him and Buffy if she finds out what he's done (by the way, the comparison then reference to Elizabeth was great.)

Its kind of evil of me but I'm glad that though Riley could hurt the Doctor physically, in return, the Doctor was able to hurt him far more ruthlessly. I'm hoping we'll eventually get to see some one on one interaction between them.

Looking forward to the next chapter!!

Review:
I've just spent the past day or so reading through your whole "Line-Hopper" series. They're all very well-written and interesting stories! It can be difficult to find stories where the Doctor is well-written, probably because he's such a brilliant, eccentric character, but I think that you've managed to capture his essence perfectly within your stories. I very much look forward to reading more of "Nothing" as you continue it, and I hope that you're planning to write more to this series once this story is done!
Comments from author:
Aw, thanks! That's sweet! I am actually working, right now, on writing the sequel for this story (you'll see, it needs one), and a series about the Doctor and Buffy during that year with the Key. So... yeah, there's more.

Keep reviewing! I do change my stories based on reviews!

Review of chapter "Part I" from JayJ
Review:
I'm wondering what the Doctor is up to. Seems like he's intentionally sticking around the Initiative and attempting escapes long enough to save the world and probably just to annoy the hell out of his captors.

Fun introduction to you protagonist. I'm interested in seeing what you have planned for her...will Marianna be fitting in to a companion like role? And will we be sticking around with Marianna, or are we gonna see Riley playing dumb towards a distressed Buffy?
Comments from author:
Well, narratively speaking, I've divided this story into three parts, each with a main protagonist and main antagonist. All of them have the same characters, the same alternating points of view, and the same storyline which goes across the entire story, but each section focuses more on one person than on others.

That makes this story sound way more ragtag than it is. Trust me, it's not one of those crazy switching around the whole focalization things. The narrative style remains consistent, the storylines and character changes are all continued, it's just that every section has a slightly different emphasis. You'll see better what I mean as I continue.

Part I is Marianna's story.

I won't ruin whose story parts II and III are.

And the Doctor's escape attempts are far more complicated than you'd imagine. In fact, they're far more complicated than I imagined. Considering I only worked out what was really going on about 2 days ago.

They're calle ethics my dear. You might do worse than to learn them. Interesting. Frightening but interesting nonetheless.

Thanks for writing
Comments from author:
Well, in Marianna's defense, her role model is Maggie Walsh. Which might not be the best role model in the world in terms of ethics.

Hehe, and the Doctor once again starts his pattern of talking an overlooked, but critical, person over to his side.

Oh dear. I think this might be where Riley gets the boot. And I doubt that Buffy is going to be very nice to Haviland. And it remains to be seen if saving the Doctor was doing him a favour or a disfavour.

Thanks for writing

Review:
Oh Riley...bad, bad idea. Attempting to separate the Doctor from Buffy cannot end well for you.

Is it wrong to say that I'm excited about the impending Riley-Doctor dislikefest :)

Great start to the story!!
Comments from author:
Thank you! But there's a little more to the story than just Riley getting angry at the Doctor. We haven't even met the protagonist, yet.

I am still very much captivated with your work and every new chapter makes my day, making me giddy with excitement! On a side note, I had Buffy ad libbing 'Kardashian vampire' in my head, instead. One of my favorite things about BtVS was the inclusion of pop culture. Some I knew, some I didn't, but I loved learning the meaning of references I didn't know. Red rum, soylent green, and Kyser Soze'd, learning what they were and watching the films they came from let me feel like I had been let in on an inside joke, :-) I have Buffy's lines from the 'Death of a Salesman' scene in 'Restless' memorized. Oooooohhh... could you just imagine Buffys' psyche including the Doctor in those dreams? Crazy and funny for sure. Keep up the EXCELLENT work and bravo to you.
Comments from author:
I have been considering having the Doctor actually be represented by the "cheese man", but I don't know if that'll work. I just thought it would be funny.

Oh, Kardashian! That's very good! I just wikipedia'ed the Kardashians, and the TV show didn't start until 2007. The OJ Simpson trials were 1994, but I'm not sure that Buffy would know about that. Or care. So... I don't think I can use it. Which is too bad. I was *that* close to changing the story to have Buffy say, "Kardashian Vampire" the next time it came up!

Not hatred, just an extreme dislike of him xD.
Cool chapter, see ya!!.
Comments from author:
Thanks! Oh, I think Riley's dislike of the Doctor is going to get worse and worse. Because you've seen Riley Finn disliking the Doctor, but you've never seen the Doctor disliking Riley Finn.
