Review of chapter "Chapter Eight" from Lilkitsu
Review:
I'm glad to finally see Tony for a little bit. once you think about the timeframe, it fits pretty well. When he returns, i wonder if he'll be told of Buffy before the press conference? If Buffy sees the conference before they meet, i think it could give a more positive outlook on tony. Although since they both have traits in common, they may not get along too well. After all, tony isn't very good at expressing real emotion. still unsure about instructors, though. on one hand, it may give buffy a sense of reminisce, from training with giles. unfortunately that could go either well, or terribly. With how Buffy reacts to Pepper, though, i suppose it all depends on how the tutors are brought in. Im anxious to see how Obidiah handles things with Buffy.

Review:
How Buffy will react? The heck with that! How the instructors will react? I can see a good instructor missing her holding back. But a world class one? If they know about the nightlife. Boom. Slayer with proper instruction. If they don't? Boom! Training a legend 101.

Don't get me started on gymnastics. Olimpic medal level a few weeks.

Although is she does get a proper instructor I can see her being trained n the spiritual side of it all. And there lies recovery of spirit.

Also it would be amusing watching a little 70 year old, slightly plump or absentminded tai chi instructor drop Buffy on her arse. It's plausible at least the first time.

Review:
First off, this is a very good chapter. I like that you spent a lot of it giving us Pepper's POV; she's a very smart character (smarter than Tony when it comes to people) and you've captured that very well.

Second, Buffy will learn from the instructors who actually have something to teach and blow off those who don't. IM (not so humble) O, unlike most students, Buffy knows the difference between moves that work on the street and those work in a dojo, or look good on a movie screen. She'll be interested in gymnastics but may be more interested in something like Parkour, which would have a practical application in her real work.

This brings me to point number three. Buffy's been down and depressed before, and it's never lasted. She ALWAYS gets back up, and when she does she kicks somebody's butt; this is one of the things that make her a champion in the first place. For starters, eventually she's going to start patrolling again, which will freak Pepper out - which will be fun to watch. Then she'll start thinking about where Tony is, and how to get him back. She always prefers to bring the fight to the enemy - and whoever grabbed her only remaining family certainly qualifies as an enemy. She may not be ready yet, but at some point she's going to want to go proactive on somebody.

Man, but I like that Pepper Potts. She's a real good egg.

I am also looking forward to what happens the first time someone tries to take advantage of Buffy. Unless Buffy decides to allow it, that should be an eye-opener for everyone (except maybe Pepper). Should be a fantastic show.

I noticed that in Buffy's section the text never actually refers to her as "Buffy," usually using "she." She hasn't accepted Elizabeth Stark as an identity; has she really given up on having a name at all?

Can't wait to see what happens next! Please keep up the good work.

Well, with the instructors i think that Buffy will probably spend more time trying to down play her abilities unless Pepper finds her someone who's a challenge (Black Widow perhaps?), Tony will prob be surprised then deny any issues he feels about Buffy and be his typical self, and Buffy will prob withdraw a little bit more and sneak into the shop when Tony isn't there or go anyway and ignore him (perhaps the occasional moment when they call out similar requests to the AI at the same time for those non-bonding bonding moments?)

I could go on but I think you got it covered :0) And I'm so glad you put in the Tony! I assume a reunion is on the near horizon?

Great insight into Buffy. Even in the show her vapid act was just an act, very good way of having her deal with Pepper by putting on her masks again.
Fairly obvious for Pepper to see how much these masks are like what Tony does, after all she is one of the only people to see all of his masks.
Great insight by Happy that maybe Buffy needs to put on these masks right now - except he doesn't know how long "right now" has been.

I am not really sure how she will react to martial arts training, on one hand it's something that the Slayer part of her will enjoy. But on the other hand it will remind her of the fight and everything she has lost - Her mom, Merrick, her life in LA, her life in Sunnydale, the person she thought was her dad. Then on the third hand it is something she is GOOD at, and when you are down having something that you are good at just feels good. I suspect she will not want to at first but then end up enjoying it in spite of herself. Also a traditional martial art discipline would be very good for Buffy.

I really don't know how Buffy and Tony are going to react to each other- sorry i can't help there :(
i hope i can help at least by saying i love your story and i expect that the current 7/10 will shoot up to a whopping 10/10 in future chapters (don't take 7/10 seriously- I'm only rating by how much I'm liking the story's uh progress i think is the word I'm looking for- once we get into angst and action stuff- it's probably gonna stay at the top- the rating;) )
Don't in any possible way read the above offensively- I'm saying that coz u never know what someone's feeling when they are only using unsaid words to communicate.
I was so happy to see u update- hope to see another one soon!!!

Great chapter. Keep up the good work. While I love the story I keep wondering if you'll bring anything else from the marvel universe into th story even some mentioning of something on the news. I also keep wondering how the gang is dealing in Sunnydale.

Review:
I liked seeing a glimpse of Tony's life there. He is in a very bad place and he doesn't know how much Buffy needs him. He does know that someone is selling his weapons to terrorists though and it sounds like that will be enough to give him some purpose and get him through. I wonder if he and Buffy would be able to bond over the terrorists he had to kill to escape? I guess he didn't torture them though, so Buffy will still feel like she is much worse.
It was great that Pepper could see through Buffy's mask too, and that it reminded her so much of Tony. It is usually easier for other people to see similarities than for you to see them yourself so I wonder if Tony and Buffy will see anything they have in common once they meet if Pepper doesn't point it out to them. I can see Buffy asking Pepper to tell her about Tony, since Buffy respects Pepper so much. Maybe not yet though. I can see it happening in the workshop, maybe if Pepper offers to help Buffy with the motorbike rebuild? That would give them an excuse to spend time together in a place where Buffy doesn't have to wear a mask. Or they could go surfing together - but you can't talk while surfing. I think Buffy will accept some kind of tutor or instructor, just because she wants to please Pepper, and so Pepper leaves her alone. I don't think gymnastics, since Buffy thinks of that part of her life as dead, but maybe a martial arts instructor so she can explain her knowledge of martial arts if she ever slips and shows some of what she knows in public.
Keep up the great work!

This is excellent thanks, especially Tony's thought process about leaving Buffy to cope by herself and I really liked that Pepper could figure out Buffy's "mask" because she was used toTony doing the same thing. I'd kind of expect that when Tony gets back he'd be more petrified of dealing with her issues and her directly than he was of being kidnapped! And that when he tries to avoid it, Pepper will do to him like she's doing to Buffy and force him. Thanks for updating.

Another great chapter. The pacing in the story is perfect; you are taking time to really develop the characters rather than just throwing them into a situation. I'm looking forward to when the action starts after Tony returns but you're writing and dialog is so compelling that I will be as patient as I must, even if that takes a while. That is the beauty of a good story, it builds anticipation for future chapters even as the reader is entertained by the current chapter.

Review:
The story is really great. Especially Pepper trying so hard to look after Buffy,
and the sadness that Buffy feels, which comes through so well on the page.

Somehow although sad in places, it's not excessively so, which is something that I like.
The balance is right.

Not sure about instructors, how good is Buffy in absolute ability?
I'm not sure I ever figured that one out from the series,
relatively she would surely have to be very good to match the vampires at all,
but how does it break down with respect to skill vs strength?

Perhaps Buffy might learn something entirely different?
Flying or paint ball or battle re-enactments or something?

I can't imagine what the meeting between Tony and Buffy would be like,
but I'm looking forward to it and the next parts very much

I kinda see Buffy realizing how similar she and tony are and getting really pissed or frustrated about it because she doesn't want to be anything like him and can't figure out how she wound up so similar when she'd never met him before.

As for the instructors, i dunno. Some fics have martial arts being sort of a meditation for Buffy so if you go with that she might be resistant at first, but grow to like it. Plus there might be a slayer -fueled incentive to train and learn more combat techniques, something she can't completely get rid of and so having instructors could help with that urge or w/e.

Either way, whatever happens I'm looking forward to reading it.
