Review of chapter "Chapter Eight" from earelen
Review:
I'm really, really enjoying this fic! It's going to be interesting to see how all of the players fit in and mesh with Marvel-movie verse and Buffy verse. My apologies for not reviewing sooner--I'm usually reading on the go, between insanity. I feel so sad for B that she's so broken and alone. I can't help but wonder if meeting Tony will break her further or if two broken people will be able to help each other. And I have a feeling that B's going to explode on Pepper with the instructors, but I could be wrong. I'll be looking forward to the next chapter!

Loved the update! Your getting the feelings right on target. As for Buffys reactions to her instructors? I think maybe having her judge them on how they move and then being critical about a few of the experts. I think it would be fun if Tony was asked if he knew his daughter "was an olmypic level skater. ". Or having Buffy in the car waiting for Tony once he got off the military transport with two bags filled with hamb urgers eating them as a snack. :-).

I am really enjoying this fic and can't wait to find out what happens when Buffy and Tony interact for the first time. I can't see them bonding straight away and I think it will be incredibly awkward if they are both living in the same house and trying to use the same workroom until they actually develop some kind of relationship.

I think the characterisation is really well done - I particularly like how you are writing Pepper and how she is dealing with everything.

This story is going great! Keep up the good work. I love Pepper trying so hard, and the Buffy mask.

As for the instructors: I think she will go along with it, at first just to please Pepper, but partially because she enjoys it, although if Pepper tries to push too much I would expect for their to be some sort of backlash -- perhaps running one off like she did the shrink (oops -- I didn't mean to shatter your arm with that throw mr. pushy karate teacher!).

Her reaction to Tony: I'd like to see a passive aggressive reaction. I don't think she'll get along with Tony at first, but I'm not sure that she would attack him either. I see more the cold shoulder and subtle insults until he forces the issue. I think Tony will be shocked at her return, but I think, after his own trauma, he will recognize something in her and put up with it, snarking all the while. Then, the afore mentioned issue forcing, because it's Tony, and he won't just put up with stuff forever. I think that their relationship will be rocky for a long time, with both of them coming to care but not admitting it (much to Peppers eyerolls).

If Pepper wants Buffy connecting with people, she should talk to Giles. They have met, and Pepper did figure out how important he and Buffy were to one another.

Awesome take on an outside view of what this emotional hell's doing to Buffy.

On the martial arts instructor...I'm thinking...Mr Miagi?

Having a fantastic time reading this story. It is very well written and I love the idea of Buffy as Tony's daughter. I finally got around to watching Iron Man, and your portrayals of the characters are spot on. I can't wait to read more!

I think she would have a blast with Natasha though honestly I'm not sure having a stuffy guy would be that great for her right now she would go out of her way to break him and it might be messy... :)

Still I think there is a lot she could learn from an actual professional rather than a watcher trying to teach martial arts when they aren't all that great at it.

Review:
I hope she likes the instructors! It seems like she would be interested in the gymnastics one, at least, but I don't know about the martial arts one. She is amazing at it, but would she love it or be afraid because she has to hold back all the time? It would be very interesting if Fury could offer a candidate for her instructors- without anyone knowing they're shield, of course. After all, what better instructor than a spy (or master assassin!)? They would know what she is capable of (theoretically) and be able to teach her better ways to watch out for herself, which she will need because of Obidiah. Your take on his deviousness will be interesting (well, more interesting than you've already hinted)and I'm curious to see how you'll incorporate Buffy into the situation. I think that would be wicked fun!!! Can't you just picture Natasha and Buffy meeting for the first time?! (Side note: please do a random one shot of that scene if you ever have time. It would be so epic. Not related to this story or related, it would be sofantasticallyawesomeamazing) As for Tony, it's definitely going to be a shock (duh, sorry) but maybe if Pepper keeps channeling him while interacting with Buffy she'll have a little bit of an advantage on his "steamroller" attitude. It's obviously going to create fireworks, because whereas Pepper knows Buffy is putting on the facade but doesn't call her out on it, Tony would have absolutely no problem calling bullshit. The fact that Joyce is dead, and Buffy has been dealing with her death and his disappearance, might moderate him up to a point, but once he gets back on his game he is probably going to start digging (and therefore getting in trouble). I really want to see how he reacts to her clinging to the motorcyle- in the movies his shop becomes the place where he builds the suit, but if Buffy has "claimed" the shop as hers in his absence, is he going to open up and allow her in there or is she going to assume she's no longer welcome in the only place besides the beach bar that she considers "Hers"? Also, I cannot wait until Travers is stupid enough to try something. Tony will shut that down once he knows she is the slayer (if he finds out?) and Fury seems to realize that he is worth keeping an eye on just in case. Can you tell I really love this story and get so excited for new chapters?!! I usually re-read a chapter or two before reading the new one. The way you are developing the characters and the plot is fantastic- don't listen to anything to the contrary! Okay, one last thing in my novel, I can't wait for Buffy to finally fix the motorcycle and learn how to ride it. Pepper should recruit a professional motorcycle racer to teach her (because Pepper knows she inherited the "gofast" gene as well as the "speedlimit, what speedlimit?" gene) because they have to be the best of the best or they would not be alive and racing. That would be super fun, and would give poor Happy a break. I think that's everything....don't take too long, please, I love this story!! (But I totally know how RL kicks you in the ass and sits on you, so I understand delays.)

Review:
Okay, instructors first. At even just the thought of them, I think Buffy's going to laugh. Perhaps not aloud, but she will let her scorn for the thought of instructors show. Although, perhaps Pepper can get Giles to come instruct? Someone else mentioned talking to Giles, and I think that's also a good idea. Use your resources, Pepper. Maybe she can talk to him about what sort of instruction Buffy has already had so she can narrow down her choices even further and finds that Giles had been her instructor in so much.

As for Tony, well I really liked his thoughts at the beginning of this chapter. And like another reviewer said, Tony will be a changed man due to this. His playboy mask becomes much more of a mask and much less of his reality as the movies go on, after all, so we know Tony has growth. But he knows the necessity of keeping up appearances; showing what you want them to see so you can have some semblance of privacy. So maybe Like will recognize Like, and maybe the masks will be enough to make sure the Like isn't quite certain that they even want anything to do with Like instead. But I think Tony will get a huge shock to his system (metaphorically, of course) to find out that not only could Joyce no longer care for Buffy, being dead and all, but that Buffy's been living in his house almost as long as he's been missing. And that this shell of a girl was not the daughter he knew about and kept tabs on.

Can't wait for Tony and Buffy to meet and interact, and even more, I'm looking forward to the intrusion of the supernatural on the lives of Pepper, Tony, Happy and (sorta) Jarvis. Because you know it'll find her. She's a Slayer, and the one that all the underground knows about and seeks out to challenge. She can't have her idyllic Buffy-hideaway go on forever. So definitely can't wait for the next update. Thanks for sharing!

The problem with instructors is... if they're any good, they'll realize she's "different". A lot stronger than she could possibly be, things like that. I suppose if Pepper is really lucky, she'd pick one that knows about the slayer, but isn't with the council.
Tony has now gone through some very wrenching / difficult times, and is a changed man. He might be able to relate to Buffy. She still thinks of him as the old Tony, head "weapons manufacturer" and all that.
I'm just not sure where you're going after they meet. Hopefully it ends with her as Iron Woman...

Review:
I like the way that you're having Pepper handle the situation, and the Buffy/Tony mask idea is great! I could see Buffy accepting the instructors very coolly and rationally if she thinks she is going to have to be the Slayer again, but maybe freaking out or being offended by the idea if she isn't...
